ON THE ROAD The Bruins will play at Colorado on Thursday evening, having closed their home schedule last Thursday night with a 93-88 overtime win versus USC. Colorado has won its last three matchups against UCLA, including an 84-73 win over the Bruins in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom on Thursday, Feb. 6. UCLA is seeking its first win at Colorado since the 2016-17 school year. In all, UCLA has gone 3-8 away from home this season, with a 3-4 record in seven Pac-12 road contests. LAST WEEK S 93-88 VICTORY Five Bruins scored in double figures last Thursday night, as UCLA downed USC in overtime, 93-88. Jaylen Hands finished with a team-leading 21 points, connecting on 5-of-10 shots from 3-point range. Kris Wilkes had 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Moses Brown logged his team-leading ninth double-double of the season (10 points, 14 rebounds). UCLA shot nearly 48 percent from the field, draining 11 of 30 shots from 3-point territory in the overtime victory. UCLA DEFEATS OREGON, 90-83 Jaylen Hands scored all of his game-high 27 points in the second half to lead UCLA past Oregon, 90-83, on Saturday, Feb. 23. The Bruins trailed by 16 points at halftime (44-28) and by as many as 19 early in the second half (47-28) before using a 27-6 scoring run over the next 7:30 to lead, 55-53, with 10:36 to play. UCLA outscored the Ducks in the second half, 62-39, marking the Bruins highest-scoring half all season. Kris Wilkes and Jules Bernard each totaled 20 points. HALFTIME DEFICIT: UCLA erased a 16-point halftime deficit (44-28) in the home victory against Oregon. That marked the largest halftime deficit the Bruins had overcome since Jan. 29, 2005, when UCLA downed crosstown rival USC at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, 72-69, after having trailed by 18 points at the break (USC led, 43-25). HOT HANDS: Jaylen Hands 27-point second half marked the most points in one half by a UCLA player since Feb. 10, 2005, when Dijon Thompson scored 27 of his 39 points in the first half against Arizona State (UCLA won, 95-76, in Pauley Pavilion). Hands seven 3-pointers, on 10 attempts, tied the school record for most 3-pointers made in one half. THE LATEST ABOUT UCLA The Bruins have just two regular-season games to play at Colorado (March 7) and at Utah (March 9). Sophomore Jaylen Hands has averaged a team-leading 20.2 points in the last five games (47.2% from 3-point range). Freshman Jules Bernard has scored in double figures in six of the past seven games (career-high 20 points vs. Oregon). Sophomore Kris Wilkes, UCLA s leading scorer (17.1 ppg), has scored in double figures in 27 of 29 games this season. ROLLER COASTER UCLA has overcome deficits of 19 points (Feb. 23) and 17 points (Jan. 10) in the second half against Oregon this season. Back on Jan. 10, UCLA trailed by nine points in the game s final minute, tying the contest at 80-80 to force overtime. Conversely, UCLA saw a 22-point lead with 12:10 to play in the second half fade away against Utah on Feb. 9. Trailing 92-90, Utah s Parker Van Dyke nailed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to give the Runnin Utes a dramatic 93-92 win at UCLA. SCORING AND REBOUNDING UCLA ranks No. 1 in the Pac-12 in scoring (78.6 ppg) and rebounding (41.4 rpg), through games played on Sunday, March 3. In addition, the Bruins ranked No. 8 in rebounding and No. 33 in rebounding margin, through Sunday s game. Bruins freshman Moses Brown (10.5 ppg, 8.7 rpg) currently ranks fourth in the league in rebounding, first in offensive boards per game (3.6), and third in blocks per game (1.9) and overall field goal percentage (62.7%). ASSIST LEADER Jaylen Hands secured Pac-12 Player of the Week honors on Monday, after having led the Bruins with 21 points in the win over USC (Feb. 28). Hands continues to lead all Pac-12 players in total assists (189) and assists per game (6.5). Hands (13.8 ppg, 6.5 apg) ranks fourth in the league in assist-turnover ratio (2.2-to-1), through games played Sunday, March 3. He has recorded at least nine assists in eight games and tallied 10 (or more) assists in three consecutive games in December. PAC-12 TOURNAMENT UCLA will travel to Las Vegas for the Pac-12 Tournament next week (scheduled for March 13-16). For the third straight season, the Pac-12 Tournament will take place at T-Mobile Arena. UCLA last won the tournament in March 2014, winning consecutive games against Stanford, Oregon and Arizona. Since that season, the Bruins have played in the semifinal round in 2015, 2017 and 2018. In all, UCLA has won the conference tournament four times (1987, 2006, 2008 and 2014). STANDING TALL Eight of UCLA s 17 players measure at least 6-foot-8. Freshman Moses Brown (7-foot-1) is the Bruins tallest player since the late Mike Lanier (7-foot-7) competed as a reserve for UCLA in 1991-92 and 1992-93. Redshirt junior Alex Olesinski and redshirt freshman Jalen Hill are 6-feet-10, while freshmen Shareef O Neal and Kenneth Nwuba, sophomore Chris Smith and redshirt freshman Cody Riley are 6-foot-9. Sophomore Kris Wilkes rounds out the list at 6-foot-8.

The Bruins have gone 3-9 when trailing at halftime... the Bruins overcame a 19-point deficit with 19 minutes to play against Oregon (Feb. 23) and a 17-point deficit with just under seven minutes remaining at Oregon (Jan. 10). UCLA has attempted 642 3-point shots this season, a single-season total that ranks No. 6 on the school s top-10 list... UCLA s 226 made 3-pointers ranks No. 7 on that top-10 list (the 2016-17 team made a school-record 354 3-pointers). Kris Wilkes has scored in double figures in 27 of UCLA s 29 games... he leads all current UCLA players in most career points (949), career field goals made (341), career three-pointers made (116) and career free throws made (151). Moses Brown leads all Pac-12 players in offensive rebounds per game (3.6 o-rpg, 104 total offensive boards)... he secured a season-high seven offensive rebounds in wins against Purdue Fort Wayne (Nov. 6) and Saint Francis U (Nov. 16). Moses Brown became UCLA s first player with at least 19 points and 17 rebounds in his collegiate debut since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (then Lew Alcindor) tallied a then-school-record 56 points and grabbed 21 rebounds on Dec. 3, 1966. Moses Brown had eight blocks in the team s win against Saint Francis U (Nov. 16)... since the school began to officially record blocks in 1978-79, only three other players at UCLA have recorded at least eight blocks in one game. In Dec. 2018, Jaylen Hands became the first UCLA player with multiple games of at least 10 assists in the same season since Lonzo Ball finished his freshman year (2016-17) with seven games of at least 10 assists. Jalen Hill registered a season-best 20 rebounds in the team s victory over Presbyterian (Nov. 19)... that marked the highest single-game rebound total by a Bruin since Kevin Love had 21 rebounds at Oregon State on Jan. 26, 2008. UCLA tallied a season-high 14 three-pointers in the team s comeback victory against Oregon (Feb. 23), going 14-for-22 from long distance... Jaylen Hands led the effort by shooting 7-for-10 from 3-point range that evening. In the Bruins 93-88 overtime win against USC (Feb. 28), the Trojans set records for the most 3-pointers attempted in one game against UCLA (50) and the most 3-pointers made in a game versus the Bruins (19). BROWN BLOCKING SHOTS Moses Brown currently is tied for the No. 8 spot on UCLA s single-season blocked shots list (56 blocks, tied with Kevin Love in 2007-08). Jelani McCoy, a three-year star for the Bruins (1996-98), registered a school record 102 blocks as a freshman in 1995-96, one year after the Bruins captured their 11th NCAA Championship. Brown stands just five blocks shy of moving into a tie for the No. 4 slot on UCLA s singleseason blocked shots list. Brown s 56 blocks are the most by a UCLA freshman since McCoy had 102 in 1995-96. SINGLETON MOVES UP David Singleton currently qualifies (just above the minimum) among single-season 3-point percentage leaders, having made 30 of 62 attempts in 29 games (must have made an average of 1.0 three-pointers, per games played). Singleton s 48.4 percentage from 3-point distance currently stands as the highest percentage ever by a UCLA freshman (Jason Kapono shot 47.4% in 1999-2000). Singleton leads all Pac- 12 players this season in 3-point percentage (48.4%). UCLA s SINGLE-SEASON BLOCKS No. Player Season Blocks Games 1. Jelani McCoy 1996 102 31 2. David Greenwood 1979 76 30 3. Jason Kapono 2002 87-192.453 HE S OUR JEWEL Freshman Jules Bernard has scored in double figures in six of UCLA s last seven games, after having scored at least 10 points in just two of the Bruins first 22 contests. The 6-foot-6 guard from Los Angeles has averaged 7.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game (all 29 games, playing off the bench), but has registered 13.3 points per game in the Bruins last seven contests. In those seven games, Bernard has shot a blistering 60.4 percent (29-for-48) from the field and 44.4 percent (8-or-18) from 3-point range. In addition, he has been UCLA s third-leading scorer through those last seven games. MORE ABOUT MOSES Moses Brown is on pace to become the fourth UCLA freshman in seven seasons to lead the team in rebounds (currently with 251 total rebounds, averaging 8.7 rebounds per game). TJ Leaf (287, 8.2 rpg) led the team in total rebounds as a freshman in 2016-17, while Kevon Looney (331, 9.2 rpg) finished the 2014-15 season as UCLA s most prolific rebounder. As a freshman in 2012-13, Kyle Anderson led the squad with 302 rebounds (averaging 8.6 per game). Brown s rebounding average (8.7 rpg) is the best by a UCLA freshman since Looney registered a team-high 9.2 rebounds per game in 2014-15. STREAKING UCLA has made at least one 3-pointer played in its last 651 games. That 3-point streak began after the Bruins went 0-for- 14 from 3-point territory in a 78-63 loss at No. 2-ranked Stanford on Feb. 3, 2000 (Maples Pavilion). UCLA has made at least three 3-pointers in 198 of 203 games since the start of the 2013-14 season. The Bruins made a school single-gamerecord 19 three-pointers (on 31 attempts) at Colorado on Jan. 12, 2017 (UCLA won that game, 104-89). INACTIVE FOR UCLA True freshmen Shareef O Neal and Tyger Campbell will not play for the Bruins this season. O Neal is recovering from a heart procedure (Dec. 2018). Campbell sustained a torn ACL in his left knee during practice on Oct. 7, 2018.

SHOOTING OVER 50 PERCENT UCLA has gone 9-1 when shooting at least 50 percent from the field. In the seven of the team s Pac-12 games, UCLA has shot at least 50 percent (going 6-1 in those contests). The Bruins shot a season-best 58.8 percent in a win at Washington State (87-67) on Jan. 30. When UCLA s opponents have shot at least 50 percent, the Bruins have gone 2-4 (wins versus Oregon State on Feb. 21 and Oregon on Feb. 23; losses vs. Michigan State on Nov. 22, at Cincinnati on Dec. 19, vs. Colorado on Feb. 6, and at Stanford on Feb. 16). UCLA has shot better than 55 percent in four games (3-1 record). THE BRUINS WHEN... Since the start of the 2013-14 season, UCLA has gone 107-14 when leading at halftime (spanning 203 games). During that span, the Bruins have gone 23-51 when trailing at halftime (3-5 when tied at the break). UCLA s largest halftime deficit overcome in that stretch has been 16 points UCLA trailed at home versuis Oregon, 44-28, on Feb. 23, 2019, and outscored the Ducks in the second half (62-39) to win, 90-83. When the Bruins have built a 10-point lead (or larger) at any point in the game, UCLA has gone 117-16. When trailing by 10 or more points in a game, UCLA has gone 14-56. COMEBACKS AND DEFICITS UCLA S LARGEST COMEBACK (in 2018-19): UCLA trailed Oregon in Pauley Pavilion by 19 points (47-28) with 19 minutes to play (and by 16 points at halftime, 44-28) and won the game, 90-83 (Feb. 23). In UCLA s 87-84 overtime win at Oregon (Jan. 10), the Bruins trailed 74-65 with 58 seconds to play. UCLA used a 15-6 scoring run to tie the game, 80-80, by the end of regulation before securing an 87-84 overtime win. The Bruins trailed by as many as 17 points in the second half (65-48, at 6:53) and were down by 13 (72-59) at the 2:31 mark. That comeback marked the largest deficit overcome in the final minute of a Pac-12 game and tied the sixth-largest deficit overcome in the final minute in NCAA Division I history (according to ESPN Stats & Info). UCLA overcame a nine-point halftime deficit at California (UCLA trailed, 34-25, on Feb. 13). In addition, the Bruins were down in that game by 11 points early in the second half. OPPONENT, LARGEST COMEBACKS (in 2018-19): Utah defeated UCLA, 93-92, on Saturday, Feb. 9, after having erased a 22-point deficit in the second half against the Bruins in Pauley Pavilion. UCLA led by 17 points at halftime and pushed its advantage to 22 points (69-47) with 12:10 to play. From that point, Utah outscored the Bruins by a 46-23 margin. Parker Van Dyke nailed a game-winning 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded to help the Utes secure the one-point win. Earlier in the season, UCLA led Belmont by 12 points (in both the first and second halves), before Belmont secured a 74-72 victory (Dec. 15, 2018). UCLA maintained a 12-point cushion, at 57-45, with 15:02 to play in the second half. GLANCING BACK AT 2017-18 UCLA S LARGEST COMEBACK (in 2017-18): The Bruins overcame a 14-point deficit with 17:11 to play in the second half in the team s 74-53 victory against Washington (Dec. 31). Trailing by a 43-29 margin, the Bruins used a 45-10 scoring run over the game s final 17:11 to earn the victory. In fact, Washington led the Bruins, 52-48, with just over eight minutes to go. Over the last seven minutes, UCLA outscored Washington by a 26-1 margin to coast to a 21-point victory. Earlier in the season, UCLA had overcome a 12-point deficit in the 72-70 win against Wisconsin (Nov. 21). Wisconsin built a 38-26 cushion with 1:51 to play in the first half before UCLA closed the gap to just seven points by halftime (38-31). OPPONENT, LARGEST COMEBACK (in 2017-18): UCLA surged ahead by 15 points in the second half at Michigan (Dec. 9), leading 46-31 with 14:48 to play after a three-pointer by Aaron Holiday. The 15-point cushion fell to two (60-58) at the 4:06 mark. Michigan trailed, 64-61, with less than 30 seconds to play but tied the contest, 65-65, in the final 10 seconds. The Wolverines outscored UCLA, 13-4, in the overtime session to win, 78-69. That marked UCLA s largest blown lead since Nov. 25, 2012, when Cal Poly overcame an 18-point deficit in the game s final 12:21 to defeat UCLA, 70-68, in Pauley Pavilion. UCLA S TRIPLE-DOUBLE NOTES The Bruins have four triple-doubles in their record book, including three since the assist became an official NCAA stat prior to the 1983-84 season. The Bruins have not had any player with a triple-double of the point-rebound-block variety since Jelani McCoy on Dec. 9, 1995 (stats located above). Earlier this season, Jaylen Hands finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in UCLA s 74-72 loss to Belmont (Dec. 15, 2018). Last year, Aaron Holiday came close to notching a triple-double with 23 points, nine assists and six rebounds in an 82-79 victory at home against USC (Feb. 3, 2018). Holiday also approached triple-double territory in a win over Stanford (March 8, 2018), recording a career-high-tying 34 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. In 2016-17, then-freshmen Lonzo Ball and TJ Leaf each came close to recording triple-doubles. Now playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, Ball was two rebounds shy of a triple-double in his UCLA debut on Nov. 11, 2016 (19 pts, 11 assists, 8 rbs versus Pacific). Ball and TJ Leaf each finished just short of triple-doubles in UCLA s 102-62 win over UC Santa Barbara (12/14/16) Leaf had 25 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists, while Ball had 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. COMMITTED AND SIGNED UCLA has two high school commitments Jaime Jaquez and Jake Kyman who have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Bruins as freshmen in 2019-20. Jaquez is in his senior season at Camarillo High School (Camarillo, Calif.) and Kyman is currently a senior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.). Last season, Jaquez averaged 31.0 points and 12.8 rebounds per game for Camarillo. The 6-foot-7, 215-pound guard has been ranked as high as No. 71 in the nation in his high school class by ESPN.com. Kyman was a first-team Orange County Register all-county selection as a junior in 2017-18. He averaged 17.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a junior at Santa Margarita. The 6-foot-7, 185-pound guard shot 50.1 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from 3-point territory last season. UCLA IN OVERTIME The Bruins have gone 3-0 in overtime this season, with Pac- 12 road victories at Oregon and California and a home win against USC. Last year, UCLA played five games into overtime, with one of those contests pushing into two overtime periods. UCLA went 2-3 in those five games, logging wins at home against Central Arkansas (106-101) in its first regular-season home game and versus Oregon (86-78) in the team s final home contest. The game against Arizona in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals was UCLA s first overtime game in the conference tournament since March 8, 2007. HEADED TO DOUBLE OVERTIME Two of UCLA s last three double OT games have come against the Stanford Cardinal. Last season, the Bruins absorbed a 107-99 loss at Stanford. UCLA s last win in double overtime came against Stanford in Pauley Pavilion (Jan. 8, 2015). In that game, freshman Kevon Looney totaled 27 points and 19 rebounds to help the Bruins overcome a 14-point deficit with just over nine minutes to play in the second half. Washington State 37 MO OSTIN BASKETBALL CENTER UCLA officially opened the Mo Ostin Basketball Center with a grand opening ceremony on Oct. 26, 2017. The state-of-theart facility not only has provided the men s and women s basketball teams with vital resources, but has also freed up facility access for other programs and student-athletes. With approximately 35,000 gross square feet of space, the facility stands near Pauley Pavilion s southwest corner, along the south end of the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Mo Ostin Basketball Center was designed by award-winning architectural design firm Kevin Daly Architects, in partnership with globally acclaimed high-performance design firm AECOM. The practice facility features two separate courts Russell Westbrook Court for the men s team and Ann Meyers Drysdale Court for the women s team. The building also houses the Kevin Love Athletic Performance Center, which is raised over the main entrance, has its own skylights and includes separate offices for the athletic performance staffs of the men s and women s basketball teams. UCLA s facility also features separate conference rooms for the men s and women s basketball teams that each overlook their respective courts. The Mo Ostin Basketball Center includes locker rooms for the student-athletes, a film room, an equipment room, a training room, a nutrition center, an alumni locker room and locker rooms for the coaching staffs. Portions of the facility s hallways include By the Numbers displays and an Under Armour uniform presentation. Adjacent to both courts is a Champions Plaza patio with a wall that honors student-athletes from past men s and women s teams. The Bruins state-of-the-art facility is named after legendary music industry executive and philanthropist Morris Mo Ostin, who generously committed $10 million to the project. Ostin, who holds a B.A. in Economics from UCLA, serves as Chairman Emeritus of Warner Bros. His influence is reflected throughout the building, from a state-of-the-art sound system, acoustics and videoboard to the design of the donor display in the lobby, which was modeled after a sheet of music.
