RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (31-25-9-2) close out their four-game homestand tonight against the Calgary Hitmen (21-36-8-2) at the Art Hauser Centre. Last night, the Raiders extended their winning streak to eight games with a 6-4 victory over the WHL-leading Moose Jaw Warriors. Cole Fonstad got the scoring started with a highlight-reel goal in the first period. In the middle frame, Kody McDonald sandwiched a Warriors goal with two of his own to make it 3-1. Then, Jordy Stallard tallied his 17th power-play goal of the year to THROUGH 67 GAMES 2017-18 31-25-9-2, 73 PTS 2016-17 18-42-5-2, 43 PTS LEADERS GOALS J. Stallard (42) ASSISTS C. Fonstad (50) POINTS J. Stallard (86) put the Raiders up 4-1. After Moose Jaw cut into the lead, Curtis Miske scored twice once in the second and once in the third to make it a 6-2 game. The Warriors responded with two goals, but it wasn t enough. Ian Scott made 21 saves to earn his 23rd win of the season. VS. CALGARY: This is the final game of the four-game season series between the Raiders and the Hitmen. DISHING THEM OUT: Cole Fonstad recorded his 50th assist of the season on Friday night against Moose Jaw. He is the first Raider to pass the 50-assist plateau since Leon Draisaitl during the 2013-14 campaign. Fonstad also has 21 goals to give him 71 points in his NHL Draft season. MULTIPLE MAN: With a pair of goals on Friday night, Kody McDonald recorded his ninth multi-point game as a Raider. The Lethbridge product now has 15 goals and 14 assists in 28 games in Prince Albert since being acquired from the Cougars. Over the Raiders current winning streak, McDonald has been a key contributor with five goals and five assists. GAME 68 at Prince Albert Raiders Saturday, March 10, 2018 HITMEN HEADLINES: The Calgary Hitmen (21-36-8-2) play game three of a four-game road trip tonight in Prince Albert against the Raiders (31-25-9-2). Calgary is 1-1 on the swing and coming off last night s 5-4 overtime victory in Saskatoon. Tristen Nielsen scored the winner on breakaway 1:58 into the extra session to complete his first career Western Hockey League hat-trick. Nielsen also added an assist to finish the game with a team-leading four points. Carson Focht with a goal and two assists and Egor Zamula with three helpers aided the Calgary attack. Mark Kastelic tallied the other goal for the Hitmen who erased deficits of 1-0, 3-1 and 4-3. Two of Calgary s markers were scored shorthanded. Gage Ramsay, Josh Paterson, Mark Rubinchik and Braylon Shmyr replied for the Blades. Calgary outshot the home side 35-24 with Nick Schneider making 20 saves to record his 95th career win. The Hitmen, at 52 points, are fifth in the Central Division and will miss the post-season for the first time in seven seasons. The Raiders, with 73 points, own the second and final Eastern Conference WildCard spot sitting five points ahead of Saskatoon.
