IDAMHC NEWSLETTER November 2015 Lois Cant, President --- Pam MacFarlane, Vice President Maria Redinger, Secretary --- Cheyenne Hackney, Treasurer MINUTES OF OCTOBER 1, 2015 MEETING Meeting was called to order at 6:43 p.m. by Lois Cant. Meeting was held at the Sunrise Café in Middleton, ID. Attendance: Maria Redinger, Valerie Marshall, Lois Cant, Pam MacFarlane, Robin Willeman. Felicia Humpherys, Cassie Edelman, Amy Humpherys, Kat Hunt, Lynne Wing, Lee Clark, Donna Bernardelli, Jamey Robbins, and guests Danyele Kremer with her niece, Julie Gibbson. Nominations: Maria Redinger was nominated for President; Pam MacFarlane was nominated for Vice President; Felicia Humpherys was nominated for Secretary; Cheyenne Hackney was nominated for Treasurer. For our one year Director, nominees are Lee Clark, Kat Hunt, and Lynne Wing. For our two year Director, nominees are Jane Steele and Cassie Edelman. Our Past President Director will be Lois Cant. ISHSA Representative nominee is Donna Bernardelli. Maria Redinger will send out official ballots to be returned to Lois Cant by November 15. Whimsical Cones: The event is still on this Saturday, 10/3/15 at Eagle Island at 11 a.m. This is a Pot Luck event. Please bring a favorite dish,a chair, and a non-alcoholic drink. Hallowed Hauntings Play Day: Show bill has been revised. Pam, Kat, and Maria will try to put up fliers to advertise. Pam will put the show bill up on our website as well. We will need as many helpers as possible to help set up and clean up. Remember there is no lunch provided, please bring your own lunch and drink. 2016 Membership forms will be available at the play day. Reminder to send in your points to Kat Hunt for Year End Awards. Deadline for point submissions is November 15, 2015. Christmas Party and Awards Banquet: We are thinking of having it at the same location, Golden Dragon in Caldwell, ID. We will try to do $5 per member and $10 for non-members. We still want to do the gift exchange, draw by number with a $10 limit. Kat Hunt will follow up on availabls dates and costs. We are shooting for December5, 2015. ISHSA Judges Clinic: They would like some Miniatures to volunteer to drive at the clinic. This is a great opportunity to get the judges on the same page as far as calls and procedures for driving. The clinic will be held at the Al Birt Arena in Nampa, ID, on Oct. 11, 2015. They want us there at noon and ready to drive by 1 p.m. Please contact Donna Bernardelli for any qyestions or if interested in participating. Double Point Spring Show: A rough draft has been made. We have been asked to look over the Miniature classes and the spacing of them. This last show, with our driving classes back to back, was a bit rough on the horses. We decided to further discuss options at the next meeting.

Our Show: First we wanted to send a big THANKS to all club members and friends for coming out and helping us put together and run the show. We had 49 horses that attended. We had a profit of over $800 and from the silent auction we got $311.50. Thank you, Kat Hunt, for putting it all together; you did a great job. Next year we are looking to possibly move our date to the last weekend of May or to the middle of June. Donna Bernardelli asked that we as a club send a thank you to Connie Graves. She personally made goody bags for the first place winners in the driving classes at the Fall Double Point Show. Lynne shared about her business Mni Angel Wings ; check them out on Facebook. She shared where to find little shoes for miniatures hooves. You can get them on ebay or Amazon; they are the shoes from Build a Bear. Lynne and her minis visit nursing homes, schools, and other events. Lynne is looking to grow, any volunteers and minis would be welcome. Any questions on the group and how to get your mini certified, ask Lynne Wing or Lee Clark. Next meeting will be on November 18, 2015, at Sunrise Café in Middleton, ID, at 6:30 p.m. Motion to close meeting was by Jamey Robbins and seconded by Lee Clark at 8:15 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Maria Redinger, Secretary The Cants entered the Wagon Days parade in Ketchum/Sun Valley on September 5, 2015. Lois drove Blu and Don drove Moe with passenger Bobby.

Lynne Wing has started using her minis in a very special way, bringing joy to many people! Mini Angel Wings On a Wing and a Prayer I joined IDAMHC in 2012 and realized a dream come true when I purchased 2 beautiful miniature horses from Shere Clark of Hollowtree Miniature horses. However, due to a health issue I was sidelined for two years but never lost my passion for creating an organization to bring love and laughter to those who needed it most: Our Veterans, Assisted Living and those who just needed to take their mind off their struggles and have a chance to enjoy these magical animals and the love they bring. In actuality, Lee Clark (Hollowtree Miniature Horses) and her therapy horse, Patch was my inspiration during those years of chemo and cancer drugs. I can happily say now, my dream of Mini Angel Wings is currently in progress and my four mini s are in training to become Certified Therapy Horses. I know the majority of individuals within the IDAMHC have horses they drive but to be honest, I m lucky I can drive my own vehicle so I m taking my mini s in a different direction. I m sharing them to pay it forward for all the support and prayers I received over the years. A big thank you to Lee & Shere Clark, as they have allowed me to purchase four of their horses that I ve coveted for years. Foxxy, Striker, Sassy (aka: China Doll) and Ashley my cup over floweth! Recently, Maria mailed the election ballots to all members in good standing. Please vote for one candidate in each designation: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, the oneyear Director, and the two-year Director. Mail the ballots in the self-addressed envelope, to Lois Cant, by Nov. 15. Members whose names are not on the ballot will open the ballots and tally the votes during our November meeting. Remember, if you are submitting points for Year End Awards, the deadline is also Nov. 15. Watch for an announcement of the location, date, and time for the Year End Awards banquet. Here are some photos from two of our Fall events. Pete and I took over 800 photos at just the ISHSA show and the Whimsical Cones event. And there are more than 500 from the Halloween play day, some of which will appear in the next newsletter. If you d like a photo CD of yourself and horses from all three events, let us know! -- Pam September ISHSA Open Show Sponsored by IDAMHC So much involvement, so many participants! Many thanks to all who helped and entered horses in classes!

Whimsical Cones at Eagle Island State Park in October Creative hats, decorated cones course, and beautiful weather! Thanks for the activities, Susan and Kat!

If you d like to share articles and/or photos about your horses and activities, I will gladly include them in the newsletter. Email the articles to me at pete_macfarlane@hotmail.com. Your contributions are welcome and such a great way to illustrate the varied interests and abilities of you and your minis. If you see errors in your published membership information (spelling, address, email, etc.), I will gladly correct them. Updated 2016 membership applications are on the website for your use. ---Pam
