WELCOME Ladies to the June Newsletter. Once again it has been a busy month with a number of events run and won we have seen the Gold 1, Gold 3, Silver Division and Weekend Pennants all completed for another year, the Memorial Day Foursomes and the Ann Costin Cup Event all played with true Nudgee spirit, and we enjoyed very little disruption from poor weather conditions. LADIES MEMORIAL DAY FOURSOMES: On Tuesday 16 th June there were 74 ladies competing for the Memorial Day Foursomes title for 2015 and the overall winners with a wonderful score of 76.5 were Maureen Farlow and Maureen Edwards. Congratulations girls on your wonderful win. It was a great Birthday present for Maureen Farlow and the ladies at the presentations all joined in and sang Happy Birthday. Kate Oudenryn and Brenda Doolan were hot on the heels of the two Maureens with a fine score of 78.5. Other pairs who also played well on the day were Celese McKenzie and Carolyn Perrett with a score of 79 on a countback from Rhonda Rooney and Frances Nobel who also carded a 79. ANN COSTIN MEMORIAL CUP: This year the Ann Costin Honour Board event was played on Saturday 13 th June and Saturday 20 th June. There were 54 ladies competing in the first round with some excellent scores produced in both the Gross and Nett events. The leading scores after Round 1 were Gross: Eslyne Hunter 77, Margaret Anderson 80 Nett: Margaret Anderson 67, Karen Stewart-Smith 69 In Round 2, there were 63 ladies playing in fabulous conditions with some more great scores delivered by the ladies. Gross: Karen Collings 76, Eslyne Hunter 78 Nett: Margaret Anderson 67, Karen Stewart-Smith 68 CONGRATULATIONS to Eslyne Hunter, the 2015 winner with a combined Gross Score of 155. Runner-Up was Karen Collings with 158. Congratulations also to Margaret Anderson who won the Nett Event with a combined score of 134. Nett Runner-Up was Karen Stewart-Smith with 138. Well done to everyone who supported this prestigious event. This year was unique because of the split fields on a Saturday. After consultation with Linda Joachim (Ann Costin s daughter) it was decided that the actual Presentation of the Cup would occur at the Champions Dinner (in November) which Linda always attends. This year after the winner was confirmed there was a small celebration in the Clubhouse with everyone present sharing some hot nibbles and cold glasses of Bubbles to toast Eslyne Hunter the 2015 Ann Costin Cup Champion who was thrilled with her win.

2015 ANN COSTIN CUP WINNER ESLYNE HUNTER FIRST FOUR WINNERS: On Saturdays 13 th June and 20th June in conjunction with the 2 rounds of the Ann Costin, the popular First Four was once again available for the cost of $5.00 per ticket. Many of our Saturday ladies gave generously and joined in the fun of choosing themselves with 3 players to have the chance of winning a bottle of Champagne for themselves and a piccolo of Bubbles for their 3 team choices. RESULTS: * Round 1 * Round 2 Cheri Quinn 77 Margaret Anderson 67 Therese Tathem 72 Karen Stewart-Smith 69 Aylsa Toye 71 Suzie Gordon 71 Karen Stewart-Smith 69 Karen Collings 69 TOTAL: 289 TOTAL: 269 The fantastic amount raised from running the First Four event over the 2 rounds of the Mid-Week Championships and 2 rounds of the Ann Costin Cup towards our Charity CHERISH WOMEN S CANCER FOUNDATION has resulted in donations so far of $910.00. This is a wonderful kick start to our charity fund raising for 2015. The Committee sincerely thanks everyone who supported this great cause so very generously and congratulations to the winners.

LADIES PENNANTS: So far this year Nudgee Ladies Golf Club has fielded 4 Pennant Teams: Gold 1, Gold 3, Silver 2 and Weekend 2. We have posted creditable performances with The Gold 1 Team placing fourth and, for the first time, not in a position to be relegated. The Gold 3 Team had some tough battles and their efforts were much appreciated. It is the first time that Nudgee has fielded two teams in the Gold Division. Our thanks go to Therese Tathem for managing the Gold 3 Team. The Silver 2 Team began the season tentatively but finished strongly to post five wins from seven matches to place equal First with two other Clubs. However a countback of individual games won positioned us in a very respectable Third placing overall. Congratulations and thanks to Gail Johnston for taking care of the team. The Weekend 2 Team coped well with the fluctuating availability of players winning two Matches and a total of 15 games. Congratulations to Lena Merzliakov for taking on the role of Team Captain for the first time. Heartfelt thanks are extended to the caddies who have performed an excellent job supporting our Pennant players. The Bronze 3 Team begins their Season on 31 st July at Redland Bay with the 5 matches finishing on Friday 28 th August at Sandgate. The Bronze Team for 2015 is Kate Oudenryn (19.9) Elizabeth Moran (21.1) Marilyn Powell (21.3) Jackie D Alton (22.7) Lesley Peek (23.9) Ros Russell (24.1) Loretta Whyte (25.4) Paula Thomson (27.6) We wish them GOOD LUCK and great golfing. If you would still like to place your name on the list for Bronze Pennants 2015 or if you would like to nominate as a caddy for the Bronze players please contact Elizabeth Moran by email at emmoran@bigpond.com GOLD 1: finished 4 th with 3 Points and 9.5 games. We wish to thank most sincerely the continued sponsorship from Rachelle and Graham Connolly, Cargo Transport (Total Logistics Solutions) for once again supporting our Nudgee Ladies for the 2015 Pennant season. It is a member s individual responsibility to nominate for these events, as per the Instructions on the flyers. Junior Golf at Nudgee You may have noticed the Nudgee Futures board outside the Pro Shop. The Nudgee Futures are the children involved in the Junior program which is based on MyGolf. The Junior Committee is working to develop the skills of the children involved in the program and we are seeking your help. Please contact Shannon at LadiesLetsGolf@gmail.com if you have any queries in relation to assisting in this fabulous program. Many of our members have very generously supported the Nudgee Futures by paying $5.00 for the chance to WIN $400.00 with $100.00 going to The Nudgee Futures. If you wish to enter the draw and give yourself the chance of walking away with the moola, you may pay your $5.00 entry in the Pro Shop & choose your lucky number. All results will be placed on The Nudgee Futures Board which is located on the wall just outside the Pro Shop. Each draw takes place once the board of 100 names has been filled so hop in quickly for your chance to win. So far there have been 3 draws and the lucky recipients of $400 are: First Draw Nick Lawler Second Draw Wayne Pickering Third Draw Vicki Dawson The next Board is available in the Pro Shop. There will be another draw once the Board has been filled. The Nudgee Futures Program has been fortunate enough to receive sponsorship for the next 12 months from Amanda Butler from McGrath Real Estate. Amanda is kindly supporting and encouraging the clinic Juniors by funding 10 buckets of balls per term for each clinic Junior. Should you be looking at buying or selling please consider making an enquiry with Amanda. You are able to view the available properties by clicking on Your Property Update. JUNIOR MEMBERS: Katerina and Georgia Marshall have been selected to play in the Queensland School Sport State trials representing the Metropolitan North District. This event is being played at the Cairns Golf Club from 18th - 22nd July. The 12 Queensland districts send 5 secondary school girls and 7 secondary school boys to trial for State Team selection. On behalf of the Nudgee Ladies Committee and Lady members, we wish both of our girls GOOD LUCK and wonderful golfing. We look forward to hearing the results.

COLLECTION OF WTA Vouchers: The procedure for collecting WTA Vouchers has changed. If the recipient of a WTA Voucher is not available to collect her prize on the day, the Voucher will be immediately taken to the Pro Shop and recorded onto John Downs' card system. This means that if you are not able to stay for WTA Voucher presentations on the day then your Voucher credit will be waiting for you to spend in the Pro Shop at any time convenient to you. The Committee will also maintain a record of Vouchers taken to the Pro Shop. The following Vouchers not collected have been taken to Pro Shop. Jenene Spencer 14 Feb $16 Courtney Nash 25 April $17 Lorraine McHugh 6 Jun $15 Tracey Noble 13 Jun $19 Margaret Anderson 20 Jun $25 Karen Stewart-Smith 20 Jun $15 Pip McFarland 23 Jun $26 Margaret Pitts 27 Jun $19 Maureen Edwards 27 Jun $19 TEE TIMES FOR SAT 11 th JULY: The bookings timesheet for 11th July is now available online and it has been necessary to consider the ladies' tee times and how the split field would affect the social aspect of an Open/Invitation Charity Golf Day. The Match Committee in consultation with the Board has sought to alter the Saturday Tee times for this particular occasion. For Saturday 11th July, the Tee times for ladies will allow for 80 ladies to play as one field starting from 7.24am with the last Tee time for ladies at 9.37am. There will be three tee times for 12 members from 7.03am. The single block of tee times from 7.03 until 9.37 will allow time for the first group to arrive at the 13th Tee block just after the ladies have finished teeing off. The last group of ladies should clear the 13th Tee by approximately 12.20pm thus allowing social players access to the South Course for the afternoon. It is hoped the benefits of this arrangement will be appreciated by Saturday ladies and their guests. Please be aware that the Charity 4BBB Golf Day is also an "Open Day and has been well advertised on the B & D website for some time and is also being promoted through the Cherish Foundation Newsletter. Be sure to book times for yourself and your guest and don't forget to make use of the Waiting List available on the NGC Booking website. Elizabeth Moran (Ladies Captain) would be interested in your feedback regarding the altered Saturday times for ladies. Please direct any comments to golf@nudgeegolf.com.au or emmoran@bigpond.com Thank you for your support of our Charity Days. Enjoy your golf!

CHARITY DAYS: Our Saturday Charity Day on 11 th July is a 4BBB Stableford event. Please remember we are supporting the CHERISH WOMEN S CANCER FOUNDATION so bring plenty of money to buy your shots as you Cheat for Charity. Tickets in the Multi-draw Monster Raffle will also be on sale soon. Tickets will be sold at $5 each or 5 for $20.00. The Tuesday Charity Day on 18 th August is also a 4BBB Stableford event. Procedure for each of the Charity Day comps will involve purchasing your scorecard and receiving a one-metre length of ribbon. This ribbon can be used anywhere on the course at a cost of $1.00 each time it is used. You can use it multiple times if the ribbon is not long enough to gain the relief or the nearness to the hole you desire. Of course if you are paying to use the ribbon you do not count the shot. You cannot use the ribbon to WIN a Nearest The Pin. The committee will be selling tickets in our Raffle. Once again we have had some very generous organizations and individuals donate some fantastic prizes including Guardian Property Management who have kindly donated one week s accommodation in a 3 Bed 2 Bath Unit at Baan San Ploen, Hua Hin in Thailand. Our thanks to Aaron Muirhead who has secured another great prize Two Nights Accommodation at the Toowoomba City Golf Club Motel plus 2 x 18 hole rounds of golf. There will be in excess of 20 wonderful prizes to be won.

NEW LADY MEMBERS: On behalf of the Ladies Committee and lady members, we wish to extend a very warm welcome to two new ladies this month. Sharyn Murray and Noelene Kelly have joined our friendly club and we hope they enjoy playing in the many and varied daily competitions available to them. FROM LADIES CAPTAIN - COMING UP IN JULY There are two Honour Board events to be played in July - The Club Match Play Championships and the Club Foursomes Championships. The Match Play Championship occurs as a mid-week event this year and the Foursomes Championship is a Saturday event. The first, the Club Match Play Championship has its beginnings next Tuesday, 7th July as a qualifying round in the Monthly Medal/Single Stroke competition. Qualifying players must be full financial members, i.e., 7 Day or Senior Lady Members. Five-Day members cannot qualify for the Match Play Championship but are eligible for the Monthly Medal / Single Stroke competition on the day. Please be sure to mark your scorecard with a Q to signal your intention to compete in the Club Match Play Championship. This event will be played in 3 Divisions requiring a minimum of four players in each Division and a maximum of eight players. Insufficient qualifying numbers in a Division means that Division s competition will not proceed, so I strongly encourage everyone to participate. The Match Play Championship quarter finals on 14th July will require those who have qualified to be available to Tee off from 7.24am. The semi-final tee times on 21st July will commence at 7.36am. Division 1 finalists playing 36 holes in the final round on 28th July will tee off from 7.30am and Division 2 and 3 finalists will tee off at 8.00 and 8.06 to play 18 holes. The second, the Club Foursomes Championship is a 36 Hole Event and consists of two rounds played on the Saturdays, 18th July and 25th July. The major trophy, a silver cup donated by Glad Tuesley and Dot McGuire, is awarded to the Gross winners over 36 holes. Ladies who hit off the oddnumbered tees in Round 1 must hit off the even-numbered tees in Round 2. In order to manage the possibility of a tie and play-off, the best 8 Foursome pairs will be seeded at the beginning of the afternoon field on 25th July from 10.19am. If a player is unavailable to play at the appointed time or is unavailable for a play-off, the competition is forfeited. The conditions of play will be amended to reflect this requirement. If you know someone who does not have email and internet facilities please pass on the above information. In future enewsletters will be posted on the noticeboard in the ladies locker room. Enjoy your golf!
