Northwest Arkansas seized an early lead with their lone run in the 2 nd, but the Cardinals tied it with an RBI sac fly from 1B John Nogowski in the 4 th. Nogowski struck again with a two-out RBI single in the 6 th and then raced home on an RBI triple by RF Victor Roache, lifting the Cardinals ahead by two runs. RHP Ramon Santos (2.0 IP) and RHP Landon Beck (1.0 IP) slammed the door with scoreless relief, closing the 3-1 Cards win. Bring em home 1B John Nogowski s two RBIs on Tuesday extended his current RBI streak to six straight games, driving in 13 runs during that stretch. The Tallahassee, Florida native leads the Texas League with 18 RBIs so far this season. He is also on a six-game hitting streak, during which he is 11x22 with three home runs (one grand slam). Knizner connecting C Andrew Knizner continued his assault on Texas League pitching with two more hits on Monday, his sixth straight multihit performance. During those six games, he is hitting.542 (13x24) with four doubles, seven RBIs and five runs. With multiple hits in seven of his last eight games and hits in 11 of his 12 games overall this year, he leads the league with a.435 average (20x46). Tough to K In addition to ranking among the league s top 5 batting averages, 1B John Nogowski and C Andrew Knizner have also been two of the three toughest batters to strikeout in the league this year. Nogowski has struck out just three times in 57 at-bats, leading the league with just one strikeout for every 21.67 plate appearances. Knizner has fallen victim to just five Ks, ranking 3 rd with one strikeout every 10.20 plate appearances. Roache repeatedly reaching OF Victor Roache extended his current on-base streak to 14 straight games with a home run and a single on Monday night. During his streak, which started on 4/8/18 and is the longest current streak (t-2 nd longest overall) in the league right now, he is hitting.327 (17x52) with four home runs, two doubles, two triples, 10 RBIs and three walks. Triples aplenty With RF Victor Roache s RBI triple on Tuesday, the Cardinals added to their league-best total of nine three-baggers this year. Roache, INF Tommy Edman, OF Granden Goetzman and OF Thomas Spitz are all tied for the team and league leads with two triples apiece.
