Introduction The overall concept for the JMAX TROPHY CLASS is that the karts are to be run AS SUPPLIED. Competitors are able to make minimal adjustments to the setup of the kart using what has been supplied, but you are not allowed to modify parts or replace parts to try and improve the performance of the kart. These technical regulations are in addition to any technical specifications set out in the KA Rules for Rotax in Australia which can be downloaded from www.karting.net.au and also in addition to the technical specifications set out in the individual Supplementary Regulations for the specific event. Supplementary Regulations for each Rotax Pro Tour round will become available on www.rotax.com.au. Chassis The control chassis is the Intrepid Freedom 30mm chassis and must remain as supplied. No modifications whatsoever can be made to the chassis. IKD reserves the right to repair any prematurely fractured or cracked chassis, at our own discretion. All Chassis racing in the Rotax Pro Tour must have the Formula Rotax seal fitted on the Radiator mounting tab to show that the stiffening bushes have been installed. Axle The axle must be a 50mm Axle as supplied, 1030mm in Length. Axle is stamped T2 and must have the Formula Australia Rotax Stamp on the axle as stamped by IKD. Axle collars can be used. Only 1 per side, and must be placed on the inside of the axle bearings. A maximum of two (2) nylon bushes are permitted. Wheel Hubs Wheel Hubs must remain as supplied. Length 90mm rear & 90mm front. These are the only Wheel Hubs that can be used both Front and Rear. Steering Wheel Must remain as supplied. 2014 2017 International Karting Distributors Version 1.9 19th January 2017 Page 3 of 8
Wheels DRY Black Magnesium SE Type Front and Rear Wheels as supplied are the only wheels that can be used. WET Any wet weather wheels can be used. Bearing Flanges, Brake Disc & Stub Axles The two outside bearing flanges must be fitted with the small locating bolts at all times during operation and can only be mounted in the top two hole positions. Brake System Must remain as supplied. Sticker Kit Intrepid are supporting the class, so the genuine Intrepid sticker kit must be used and kept in reasonable condition. Plastic Rear Bumper The CIK Plastic Rear Bumper that has been supplied with the kart must be used. It cannot be substituted for the older steel type rear crash bar. Seat The size/type of seat is open. Drivers are free to use whatever seat they like. A maximum of 1 seat stay per side can be fitted. Front End Castor & Camber Adjustors The karts are fitted with standard adjustors, and are also supplied with a 12 hole adjustor. Both can be used. These adjustors cannot be changed or modified to alter the amount of adjustment that is possible. Brake Pads Type of Brake Pad that can be used is open. Engine Technical Specifications Refer to Australian World Rules for BRP-Rotax FR125 Junior Max Technical Specifications available from http://www.karting.net.au/administration/technical Floor Tray Must remain as supplied. Oil The only oil that can be used in the Trophy Class is XPS 2-Stroke Full Synthetic. Fuel/Oil Ratio at 40:1 which is 25ml of oil per 1 litre of fuel. Tyres The tyres for all JMax Trophy Class Pro Tour rounds will be MOJO D2 for Dry Conditions MOJO W2 for Wet Conditions. The suggested starting tyre pressure for the MOJO D2 is 12-14psi. Spark Plug Eligible types are Denso Iridium; IW24, IW27, IW29 or IW31, and NGK GR9DI-8. Spark plugs must be original as supplied by the manufacturer. Additional Notes This document is likely to change as new issues or areas come to our attention. In the event that changes are necessary, competitors will be notified as soon possible. The document version that is available for download from www.rotax.com.au will be the current version that is enforced. IKD may allow a competitor to run a non-tech item under strictly controlled circumstances in the interest of keeping the competitor racing at a particular event.
