#Shareyourstory Campaign I had the pleasure of golfing literally everyday except two from June 14- Aug 19 this summer and can't begin to tell you about the amazing hospitality I received. Every morning I was greeted by name before I even made it to the desk and then encouraged to shoot my best round ever! On the course the beverage cart people were always there to see if I needed anything. On hot days someone would come out with cold towels and on other days I would find two in my cooler because the boys know how much I like my cool towels! After my round I was always greeted warmly by staff as they cleaned my clubs and always eager to give advise as I shared my round. On July 24 when I got my second hole in one at DW in #3 Firecliff everyone was there to congratulate me and Bruce Nation even went out of his way to email me pictures of not only number 3 but also of # 8 Mountain my prior hole in one. I also played summer league every week which Jackson did a great job of running and afterwards the restaurant was always great with their weekly specials! But most importantly I would like to say every single staff member working at Desert Willow made me feel like I was family! Thanks for an amazing summer in the desert! 11
#Shareyourstory I'm a blue collar guy and I really love golf. I don't earn the kind of money that allows me to play at a fancy country club but I do love to play at really nice courses whenever I can. I've been fortunate to play at some amazing places around the world including Pebble Beach and LA Country club thanks to some friends of mine. While I love those beautiful and expensive courses I don't enjoy the snobby attitude I have experienced with some of the staff. Unless you are one of their rich members the staff can often be very cold and condescending towards average guys like me. This was not my experience at Desert Willow. Everyone was not only helpful and nice but very down to earth. Rather than treating me like an outsider, they were extremely welcoming. The guys in the pro shop even gave me some helpful tips on cheaper times to play. Desert Willow is the best course in the whole Palm Springs area in my opinion but not just because of its incredible beauty and amazing lay out it s the great people they have there. I can t waint to come back. 12
#Shareyourstory We live on a private condo in a golf resort in Palm Desert. Each year we discuss joining that club for a number of reasons the primary of which is to meet more people at the club and it s obvious convenience for us. Somehow after our visit to Desert Willow we always decide we will wait one more year. It happens every time we walk into the pro shop and either Bret or Joe or one of the other fabulous guys behind the counter greets us with hello and. It is this friendliness and helpfulness that keeps us getting up at midnight to make that first available time on the computer to get a time on the course. While it isn t that convenient for us to do this, we love Desert Willow s service friendliness and of course the fabulous golf. We also love meeting the many interesting people with whom we play golf. For four hours we have a new best friend who we laugh with anguish with over a missed putt and sometimes go inside for a nice beer to memorialize our games. It is so rare we meet someone we wouldn t enjoy being with for longer than that one round of golf. There really isn t one specific game of golf lunch on the patio or cocktail near the fire pit that sticks out as more special than the rest. Desert Willow is simply more special than the rest and we will be staying there for years to come I m sure. 13
#Shareyourstory I spent my first winter of retirement in Palm Desert and it turned out to be the best season of my life. After losing my mother and quitting my job my goal was to find a relaxing place to live play golf and make friends. Desert Willow far exceeded my expectations of a public golf course and was more like an exclusive private club. The course is beautifully designed and meticulously maintained. The golf and club staff were friendly and kind. I enjoyed the golfing and the clubhouse was first class. I can t wait to come back next winter. I also missed the worst winter in Montana history! 14
#Shareyourstory Desert Willow holds a special place for us. Fourteen Years ago Two singles got paired up by chance both wanting to get some practice in prior to a 4th of July golf tournament. We spent the day having a wonderful round of golf and the challenge of the course. We played many times and two years to the day later I proposed at Desert Willow and the following year to the day we were Married at Desert Willow. So for the last 14 years and the countless times we have played the courses since we always come out for our Anniversary round. And for the last 14 years it has always been a great experience from the conditions of the course, the great attitudes of pro shop and the friendly and helpful outside services staff. Desert Willow continues to be our special place every time we play. 15
