Based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture & the Book by William Steig BROADWAY JUNIOR COLLECTION S Dear Parents Your Child is performing the upcoming school musical in Week 6 Term 3. Performance dates are in August as follows: Full Dress Rehearsal... Monday 21 August Matinee... Tuesday 22 August Evening... Tuesday and Wednesday 22 & 23 August Students are required to be at all performances. Should your child be absent due to illness or planned leave of absence, please direct this information to your child s class teacher. Please look at costume needs for your child s class, should you have any questions ask your child s teacher. Year 6/5 main casting has been completed. All students now have their character role, singing or dancing role, ensemble role or sets and props role. As there are approximately 120 students in Stage 3, and they are older children, I will not do a formal costume note for each character. I will however over the next 6 weeks begin to send costumes home with each main character as I create them! Another note will go home regarding stage make requirements once I have costumes all handed out! Year 6/5 sets and props students will need to wear all black. Yours musically Susan Rudd

Synopsis Everyone's favourite ogre is back in the hilarious stage spectacle based on the Oscar-winning smash hit film. This JR production will feature only performers 18 or under. Performance time is approx. 1.5 hours including interval. It's a "big bright beautiful world" for everyone's favourite ogre in SHREK THE MUSICAL JR, based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film. Adapted for young performers and featuring a host of over-the-top roles, there's a part for everyone in this dazzling adventure story. In a faraway kingdom, the green ogre Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits, runaways who've been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wise-cracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task - if he rescues feisty Princess Fiona from the Dragon-guarded tower, his swamp will be returned to him. But, a fairy tale wouldn't be complete without unexpected twists and turns along the way.
