Special Olympics Training Dates Students interested in being fans for the April 20, 2016 Special Olympics must attend a oneafternoon training to be eligible to participate and for service hours. The dates to choose from are: Monday March 21 & Tuesday March 22 Time for training is: 2:30pm to 4pm at the latest, Doors will close promptly at 2:30pm Location: G13 You must be on-time the day you choose.

April is Autism Awareness Month
Did you know??? North Carroll High School houses the only Autism Program for High School students in the entire county? The program will triple in size when it relocates to Winters Mill next year. Autism affects 1 in 68 children. Autism costs a family upwards of $60,000 a year on average. 35 percent of young adults (ages 19-23) with autism have not had a job or received postgraduate education after leaving high school. (Shattuck et al., 2012)

REACH FOR THE STARS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM The Dixon/Kluge Long and Foster group will award a $750 Scholarship to 2 high school seniors who will be attending a 2 or 4 year college. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and a demonstrated record of having made a significant contribution to their high school and local community. Applications are in the Counseling Office. Due April 30
Engineering Society of Baltimore Scholarship INFORMATION ON THREE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE. GRANTS AND LOANS ARE INCLUDED
CCEA Scholarship $500 TO A STUDENT WHO IS PLANNING TO PURSUE A DEGREE IN EDUCATION. AWARD IS BASED ON FINANCIAL NEED, ACADEMIC STANDING, ATTENDANCE, LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE AND MOTIVATION TO PURSUE A CAREER IN EDUCATION. APPLICATIONS ARE ON LINE OR IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE. DEADLINE IS MARCH 31.
