Green Bay Preble Quarterback Club March 12, 2014 Meeting Minutes Call to order: Roll Call: March 12, 2014, 6:02 pm, Room 105, Preble High School Cathy Apisa, Troy Rentmeester, Julie Dougherty, Holly Princl, Renee Chandler Val Lukas, Bernie Carwardine, Karen Gerow, David Berken, Ann Steinberger Secretary s Report: February 2014 minutes reviewed. Motion made by Julie Dougherty, Seconded by Karen Gerow to approve minutes. Minutes approved. President s Report: Coach Donart was approached to host TackleSure Clinic May 17. Mike Reignier was contacted via telephone for additional information. The Cost is $25 per Coach and $25 per Athlete. This would be open to area youth grades 4-11 in northeastern Wisconsin. The organization will donate a set amount of funds to the Football Club. Dave will contact Coach Donart for additional information on all associated fees to the Preble Football Program and make arrangements to host the Clinic. Suggestions were made to have vendors at the clinic for coaches who attend the Tacklesure Clinic and to have concessions available. There is a possible schedule change. De Pere and Ashwaubenon games may be switched to accommodate Ashwaubenon regarding a possibility of broadcasting Ashwaubenon - Bay Port game on ESPN. The Home games will possible be as follows: o September 5, Sheboygan South Youth Night o September19, Green Bay West Parent Night o September 26, Sheboygan North Homecoming o October 3, Ashwaubenon To be determined o October 17, Green Bay East Senior night Scrimmage at D.C Everest is Friday August 15. Meet the Team Night will potentially be Thursday August 14. However the date will not be set until after the Packer Schedule is available. The alternate date is Wednesday August 13.

Coach would like player registration packets available to hand out at all the player meetings in May. Karen will talk to Kimi regarding the packets and the needed documents. Details are not final on the Team camp with Kimberly. Location and dates are to be determined. Coach Donart will host a youth football camp for players with in the Preble School boundaries in June. Possibility of having concessions available discussed. Treasurer s Report: 2014 Budget from last meeting was reviewed. The line item Oshkosh Camp was changed to Team Camps and funding left the same. Cost of the team needs will remain at $12,500. Since the travel costs may be less, this will allow the coach to use the excess funds at his discretion. A motion was made by Holly Princl to approve the budget with the above wording change. Seconded by Dave Berken. Motion approved. In addition to the mandatory player fee, there will be a parent volunteer fee. The funds will be returned when their volunteer spots are fulfilled. This parent volunteer fee was suggested as many times volunteers do not show or make arrangements to have a replacement. Karen has started to set up an on-line volunteer registration sign up. Committee Reports Programs: Continues to approach businesses for program ads. 151 have expressed interest and 35 have already committed and paid the fee. Publicity & Website: Website changes have been made. The focus will be on Preble Football and the name Quaterback Club has been removed. The Board felt that due to the amount of time spent on the current website and the needed changes/updates a new website design may be needed. Possible additions of paying camp/player fees, and posting program sponsor pictures, link to the on-line volunteer sign up. Suggestion was made to have a Twitter account in addition to the Face Book Page. Also if the QBC name cannot be changed to Preble Football a suggestion was made to start a new Facebook page with a link on the current facebook page to the new one. Dave will discuss with Doug on possible options and the best way to promote Preble Football and the activities. Merchandise & Apparel: Home Team is working on an on-line store so People can order directly. Suggestion made to continue to sell apparel at the games and camps. Banquet: Awaiting Packer Football schedule before setting the date. Concessions: No Report Fundraising: Discussion on possible fundraising opportunities: Papa Murphy Pizza cards, Kwik Trip cards, Movie Passes, Dilly Bars at DQ, movie nights with concessions, Blitz Day, and golf outing, brat barn,

Culvers, Happy Joes, and company sponsors for the games. The suggestion was made to have one Brat barn, Culvers, Happy Joes and golf outing. Dave will contact Basketball regarding a possibility of working together on a golf outing and split proceeds. Dave presented a proposed budget based upon 144 and 100 golfers. Proceeds could potentially be substantial. Dave indicated he would be willing to arrange this with assistance of volunteers. Next Meeting: Wednesday April 9 th, 6 pm at Preble room 106. He indicated he works with other football teams within the area: East, West, Southwest, Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, Sheboygan North, & Sheboygan South. Profits have been anywhere from $7,500, $16,000 and higher per year. Preble rewards.com

This is a new program for 2014. It is an on-line shopping gateway to different sites. People can go to this gateway choose the shopping place and the link will take the person to the store. For every purchase made at the shopping site a percent of the sale will go to Preble Football. The average reward to be returned to the program is 20-25% of the sale. Many stores also offer a consumer discount in addition to the percent returned to the football program. The person must enter through preblerewards.com first before going to the store website. This rewards program is ongoing and once a person is signed up they can continue to use the program until they remove themselves. Emails will be sent to the individual with suggested shopping sites based upon their interests. There will a phone app available for use with smart phones and a QR code. There is no start-up cost or an annual fee however a minimum of 250 people signed up. Preble Football will be the only program at Preble High School that will collect the rewards. The football program will have one person (Treasurer) will be able to view the reward status, the different catagoires that are being purchased, and collect the proceeds. In addition to the free basic, a person may purchase a gold membership. They would receive double cash back and the football program also receives double rewards Examples of sites are Amazon, Nike, Best Buy, East Bay, Columbia sportswear, Kohls, Lands End, Choice Hotels. A motion to utilize this shopping gateway (fundraiser) and to be the only program at Preble High School to collect the proceeds was made by Karen Gerow and seconded by Pete Nelson. The Football program will be able to promote the site now and people can start to utilize the shopping gateway www.preblerewards.com. Coach Donart will check to see if this can be mentioned in the parent newsletter that is sent out. Other sites could be a link on the website, facebook, twitter, banner on the football field or at concessions, Information in the football programs. Discount Cards Different discount cards were mentioned. The company will work directly with Coach Donart. Each player will be asked to sell a set amount of discount cards within a 7-10 day window. Recommended number is 20 cards per person David Schmidt is currently working with Festival Foods for a $20 card. This will have three 5% off entire purchase and several other coupons. Proceeds will be $16 per card sold. No upfront cost for the cards. Preble Football will be the only program at Preble High School to sell the Festival Foods

Golf Cards: discount cards. The sale will occur in August. A motion was made to approve this fundraiser by Dave Berkin and seconded by Cathy Apisa. David Schmidt will give a total of 100 golf cards to the football program for the program to sell at $20 each. (He gave 50 cards and will get 50 more to Coach Donart). The football program will keep 100% of the funds raised. Other Fundraising Issues: Coach s Report: Dave was in contact with Melissa Coulombe. She will schedule two brat barns in May and August at Copps on GV. o Preble will host the Tackle Sure Clinic May 17. o Scrimmage at D.C Everest is Friday August 15. o Freshman will scrimmage Luxemburg Casco 8/19 at Luxemburg 4:00 PM. o An additional Freshman 2 game has been scheduled: Thursday 9/11, home against Bay Port o Coach will continue to work with Ripon on purchasing uniforms for the upcoming season. Ripon allows the coach to order individual jerseys at a time. Current Varsity jerseys will be passed to JV and current JV jersey will be passed down to Freshmen. o o Helmets have been reconditioned, 7 have been replaced. The football program has received from the school district the same funding amount for approximately 6-7 years. The activity director will approach the school district for additional funds.
