Check-in/Check-out Check-in is at 4 PM / Check-out is at 11 AM ***Cleaners begin promptly at 11AM*** How Do I Get In? All access and unit information is sent to you via e-mail 2 days prior to your arrival. Since our buildings are unstaffed, it is critical that you receive and read all e-mail communication from us in order to access your unit. Because our buildings do not have a front desk we use codes, not keys, to give our guests access to buildings and units. If you don t receive the e-mail from us with access information 2 days prior to arrival, please contact us immediately. The e-mail that contains your codes is titled: Important Check-In Information for your Booking (PLEASE READ): Pre-Stay Information for your Booking on www.shorttermrentalsboston.com Coming from Logan Airport We recommend taking a cab from the Airport to get to the unit. The entire trip is about 15 minutes and will cost around $30 with all tolls and airport fees included. You can also pick up the shuttle from the airport at Terminal E, getting off at the MBTA Airport Station. From here you will board the Blue Line toward Bowdoin, getting off at the State Street stop. From State Street, board the Orange Line toward Forest Hills, getting off at the Massachusetts Ave. stop. After getting of the train at Massachusetts Ave, walk South for about 10 mins and the building will be on your left after crossing over Washington St.
Coming from South Station If you arrived by train at South Station, we recommend taking a cab. The entire trip by car is about 10 minutes. You can also connect to the Orange Line train by walking to Downtown Crossing and riding it to the Massachusetts Ave. stop. After getting of the train at Massachusetts Ave, walk South for about 10 mins and the building will be on your left after crossing over Washington St. Your unit is likely equipped with basic cable (we usually supply our larger units with more channels). If the cable isn t displaying be sure to set the TV itself to channel 3. Once it s set, all channels are controlled with the Comcast remote. Our TV s are equipped with HDMI ports, allowing you to connect a computer for viewing your media on a larger screen. We recommend bringing and HDMI cable if you have one. Wireless Internet: Networks: Use the network with 652MassAve in the title. Password: local652 Receiving Mail/Packages All guests are welcome to ship packages to the building. That being said, we don t assign mail boxes and won t be held responsible for lost or damaged packages. We recommend that all guests who would like to receive mail rent a PO Box at one of the nearby post offices. The closest one to your building is the US Post Office located at 59 W. Dedham St.
Trash/Recycling If your trash gets full prior to check-out, we have provided two options: 1) There are trash and recycling bins behind the wooden gate on the side of the building toward the back. When walking out the front door take an immediate right into the public alley and walk toward the back of the building. The door will be the second on your right. 2) Curbside trash and recycling pick-up is every Tuesday and Friday morning. Sealed bags of trash and separate sorted recycling may be brought to the street any time after 5pm on the night prior to collection, or by no later than 8 am on the pick-up date. All recycling should be placed in one of the large blue recycling bins. We ll take care of any normal trash in the unit upon check-out. Heating and Cooling Your unit is equipped with one thermostat that controls both heating and cooling. Locking your Door Whenever you are leaving the unit, test the handle to make sure that it locks behind you. If it doesn t, make sure that the small knob on the inside of the lock is turned so the door locks behind you (some units may have this knob removed this is OK). Any deadbolts will function separately from the primary lock. Dishwashing Please help our cleaning staff by washing any used plates, bowls, cups or silverware either by hand or using the dishwasher prior to your departure. DO NOT put any food prep knives or pots & pans in the dishwasher as this will cause them to rust.
Laundry There is a washer and dryer in your unit. Please help keep our machines in good working order by using only high efficiency soaps. If you are in unit 2, the washing machine is equipped with an intellitimer (small box located next to the machines with a light on it) to avoid the possibility of water overflow from failure to turn off the supply. Before running the machine, press the button on the intellitimer, then start the cycle (the machines won t run without pressing the button on the intellitimer first). If the machine doesn t seem to work, try unplugging the intellitimer re-plugging it in. Laundry is free of charge, but we do not provide laundry detergent or dryer sheets. Storing Your Bags Before/After Check-In If you arrive before your scheduled check-in at 4pm, you are more than welcome to leave your bags in the basement under the stairs. Please feel free to call us on the day of your arrival to see if an early check-in is possible. Pull-Out Sofa Beds Units 1 is equipped with a queen size pullout couch. Sheets and bedding can be found in the closets of either bedroom. Note: To use pullout feature, there is a tab located front and center on the underside of the couch. Press tab and bottom of couch will pull out towards you. Parking for guests of this building is located behind our sister property at 16 E. Springfield St. (1 min walking).
