First air measures 4.1. Description of first aid measures EYES: rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice immediately. SKIN: wash immediately with plenty of water. Remove any contaminated clothing. If the irritation persists, seek medical help. Wash any contaminated clothing before using again. INHALATION: take the exposed person outside. If they have difficulty breathing, seek medical help immediately. INGESTION: seek medical help immediately. Induce vomiting only if directed to do so by the doctor. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person and unless authorized by a doctor. 4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed For symptoms and effects caused by contained substances, see Section 11. 4.3. Indications on possible necessity for immediate medical attention and special treatment Follow doctor s instructions. 5. Fire-fighting measures 5.1. Extinguishing media APPROPRIATE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA Extinguishing media are carbon dioxide, foam, dry chemical powder. For product leaking and spillages that have not caught fire, use, nebulised water to disperse flammable vapours and protect people engaged in stopping the leakage. INAPPROPRIATE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA Do not use water jets. Water is not effective for the extinguishing of fires. Nevertheless, it can be used to cool closed containers that have been exposed to the flame, preventing blasts and explosions. 5.2. Special hazards caused by the substance or by the preparation HAZARDS CAUSED BY THE EXPLOSION IN CASE OF FIRE Excess pressure can occur in containers exposed to fire creating an explosion hazard. Do not breathe products of combustion (carbon oxides, toxic pyrolysis products, etc.).
Page n. 3 / 7 5.3. Advice for firefighters GENERAL INFORMATION Use jets of water to cool the containers and prevent product decomposition as well as the development of substances that are potentially hazardous for health. Always wear full fire protection equipment. Collect all water used to extinguish the fire; this must not drain into the main sewer. Dispose of contaminated water used to extinguish the fire and other fire residues in compliance with the laws in force. EQUIPMENT Protective helmet with visor, fireproof clothing (fireproof jacket and trousers with straps around the arms, legs and waist), protective gloves (fireproof, slash-proof and dielectric), self-contained breathing apparatus (self-protector). 6. Accidental release measures 6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures Eliminate all sources of ignition (cigarettes, flames, sparks, etc.) from the leakage site. In the case of solids, avoid the formation of dust by spraying the product with water, if there are no contraindications. Use breathing equipment if powders or vapours are released into the air. Block the leakage if there is no hazard. Do not handle damaged containers or leaked product without the use of all appropriate protective equipment. Have unequipped persons removed from the area. For information on risks for the environment and health, respiratory protection, ventilation and personal protective equipment, see the other sections in this information sheet. 6.2. Environmental precautions Do not allow the product to enter sewers, surface and ground waters and confined areas. 6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up Extract liquid products into appropriate containers (in a material that is compatible with the product) and use inert absorbent material (sand, vermiculite, diatomaceous soil, Kieselguhr, etc.) to suck up the spillage. Collect as much material as possible using non-sparking equipment and store into disposal containers. If the product is in solid form, collect the spilt product into plastic containers using non-sparking mechanical equipment. Eliminate residues with water jets if there are no contraindications to this measure. Thoroughly air the area affected by the spillage. The disposal of contaminated materials must be compliant with the instructions at point 13. 6.4. Reference to other sections See sections 8 and 13 for information concerning personal protection and disposal 7. Handling and storage WARNING: do not transfer into containers other than original ones, risk of fatal mistakes of exchange with beverages. 7.1. Precautions for safe handling Prevent accumulation of electrostatic charges. Vapours can catch fire exploding, therefore prevent accumulation by keeping windows and doors open and ensuring cross ventilation. Without adequate ventilation, vapours may collect in low areas and ignite, even at a distance, if triggered, with the danger of a return flame. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames. Do not smoke or use matches or lighters. Ground containers during decanting and wear antistatic shoes. Strong shaking and vigorous flowing of the liquid in pipes and equipment may cause the creation and collection of electrostatic charges, for the low conductivity of the product. In order to prevent the risk of fire and explosion, never use compressed air during handling. Open the containers with caution as they might be pressurized. WARNING: do not transfer into containers other than original ones, risk of fatal mistakes of exchange with beverages. 7.2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities Store in sealed containers and in a well-ventilated area. 7.3. Specific end uses

Controlling exposure On the basis that the implementation of adequate technical measures should always be given priority over personal protection equipment, ensure good ventilation of the workplace with an effective local extraction system or with the outlet of polluted air. PROTECTING HANDS Protect hands with category I work gloves (ref. Directive 89/686/EEC and standard EN 374) in latex, PVC or equivalent. When choosing appropriate work glove material, take into account: degradation, time to breakage and permeation. Before use, always check work gloves resistance to preparations, as it is not predictable. Gloves have a wear-out time that depends on the duration of exposure. PROTECTING SKIN Wear category I professional work clothes with long sleeves and safety footwear (ref. Directive 89/686/EEC and standard EN 344). Wash with soap and water after removing protective clothing. PROTECTING RESPIRATION If the threshold value for one or more of the substances present in the preparation is exceeded, with reference to daily exposure in the work environment or a fraction thereof as defined by the company`s prevention and protection service, wear a filter mask type A or universal type, whose class (1, 2 or 3) will have to be chosen according to the limit concentration of use (ref. standard EN 141). The use of protecting devices for the respiratory tract, such as masks with organic vapour and dust/mist cartridges, is necessary in the absence of technical measures limiting personnel exposure. The protection provided by masks is in any case limited. If the substance in question is odourless or its olfactory threshold is higher than the relative exposure limit and in the event of an emergency, or when exposure levels are unknown or the concentration of oxygen in the workplace is less than 17% volume, wear self-contained, open-circuit compressed air breathing apparatus (ref. standard EN 137) or fresh air hose breathing apparatus for use with full face mask, half mask or mouthpiece (ref. standard EN 138). PROTECTING EYES Wear airtight protective goggles (ref. standard EN 166). 9. Physical and chemical properties 9.1. Information on basic physical and chemical properties Physical state...
