I am happy to announce that a new cub has started in the Bloomsdale area! Thank you to Kristal and Matt Stemler for volunteering to lead this club. 7 families attended the March 7 th meeting to discuss what was needed to start a club and who was interested in joining. They decided there was enough interest to start a club and chose the name The Bloomsdale Bloomers 4-H club. Welcome to the team! Please send let me know what your club is doing so I can include it in the next newsletter. NEEDED- PROJECT LEADERS You may be wondering what this would include. It actually can be whatever you as the leader want it to be. If you have a special interest in arts and crafts, cake decorating, poultry, etc. and would like to meet with a group of eager learnersyou can be a project leader. I have file drawers full of resources that you may use. If I don t have what you need we can look into ordering some. If you would like to meet with your group once a month you can or if you want to meet each week for a few weeks to finish projects, you can do that too. It is entirely up to you and your project group to decide what works best for your schedule. Please let me know if you are interested and I will help in any way I can. NEED IDEAS FOR YOUR MEETINGS? Be sure you are including as many of your members as you can at each of your meetings. Some suggested jobs could be Door greeter Flag holder Pledge leader Photographer (I would love pictures to include in the newsletter) Monthly health tip Snack helper Demonstration of a project they are working on. Etc. Your members will feel more ownership in their club if they feel they have a responsibly to perform. It doesn t have to complicated or time consuming, but they should feel important and needed. LOCAL FARMERS MARKET I attended a meeting on February 25 th with the members of the Farmers Market. They are very anxious to have 4-H and FFA members make use of the market. They will wave membership fees for local youth to encourage them to come out and sell any products they have raised or made. I have a copy of the rules if you are interested. The market will run from the first Saturday of May until the last Saturday of October.
