MISSION The mission of BikeAAA is to create a healthier, more livable Annapolis & Anne Arundel County by promoting bicycling for transportation, recreation and fitness; advocating for better bicycling conditions and transportation choices; and educating children, adults, and motorists about safe bicycling. 4

Safe Connectors Are Key Safety is the most important factor for getting people to bike Bike Routes Must Be and Appear Safe For Riders to Feel Safe and Ride There are many safe places to ride Off road trails (B&A, Poplar, BWI, WB&A, etc) On Road Lanes (Bay Ridge, Hilltop, Edgewood, Academy Bridge, etc.) But the safe routes are not fully connected e.g. Academy Bridge to Eastport Current: Rt. 170 Red Lines Indicate Missing Connections B&A to AACC ECG Signage Annapolis and AA County Have good Plans.Must press for implementation! 11
Recent Action Complete Streets County Resolution 6-14 encourages the County Executive to adopt a Complete Streets Program for Anne Arundel County through revision of the Anne Arundel County planning documents to help ensure that future construction or improvements on County roadways are compatible with multiple modes of transportation the Commission recommends that Anne Arundel County coordinate and invest in a comprehensive, multi-modal transportation network to empower its residents and workers with a broach range of transportation choices -- Transportation Commission of Anne Arundel County (2014) County Ped/Bike Master Plan Update, June 2013 Need to Shift from Plans and Policy to Funded Implementation 12
