Welcome and apologies Meeting opened 10.05am Regional Development Manager (RDM) welcomed everyone and made an acknowledgement of country. Apologies as noted above. 2. 2016 and 2017 Membership Analysis Regional Development Manager presented information on the registration data taken from July 2016 and compared to July 2017. The South Coast has reminded quite strong numbers, with a small drop in registration of NetSetGo and Juniors. RDM asked for some feedback from association in regards to drop junior participation.

Main issues faced by the association where the threat of other sports and the weather. 3. Association Development Association Development Manager (ADM) advised associations that from 2018 there will be no manual registrations To assist associations and individuals with the registration process training manuals and assistance from Netball NSW staff are available. Active Kids Rebate Active Kids Rebate will be available from January 2018 to all school age kids will participate in sporting programs. The rebate is $100 per child and will be claimable by the association from the government. It is get to be announced how the rebate will administer. QMP QMP will be launch at the start of next year. It is a governance tool that will assist association with their framework and provide them resource to run their organisations. It is not compulsory for association to take up but can assist committee s especially newer committees. Facility & Competition Review Facility and Competition Review is currently 60% complete. Mike McLaughlin has interviewed numerous stakeholders regarding the needs and demand for our sport over the next 10 20 years. Mike McLaughlin report is expect to be release by the end of September. It was also encouraged any association looking to update their courts in the coming years to include Fast 5 marks. Questions Illawarra NA asked what the difference was between a gala day and carnival, mainly in regards to insurance. Carnival is a more formalised day consisting of point scoring and ladders, while a gala day is more see as a come n try event. However Netball NSW is currently seeking more clarification around these definition from our insurance provider. This information will then been forward on to the association. ADM to advise all associations once clarification has been provided by the insurer. TBD

4. Participation FastFive Participation Manager presented information around the decline in traditional competition sports and Netball Australia product to combat this issue. Fast Five was presented to the association as a fun social game of netball, aim at individuals who are unable to commit the traditional form of netball. Association were shown the Fast 5 kit from Netball Australia and temporary solutions to the court marks were discussed. Registrations will be competed through an app, where players will also have the option to pay, otherwise a cash payment can be made at the centre. From each player payment $2.50 will be paid to Netball Australia and Netball NSW to cover affliction cost. Queanbeyan NA asked how the umpires are covered, if there are not registered with Netball NSW? Participation Managers will find out and advise all association Any associations interested in running a Fast 5 centre were advised to register their interest at www. playfast5.com.au or contact Shohan. NetSetGO A Go Tier will be introduced for next year season. The tier is aim to assist with the gap between modify netball and full rules netball. Rules will be released in October with association notify once this as happened. If associations have any issued with parents wanting their child to play full rules netball, contact participation Manager who can provide who the reasoning behind modify sport. Inclusion & Diversity Participation Manager also presented information around the inclusion and diversity space. Netball NSW provides a disability membership to any individual who identifies themselves with a disability. The membership is there to help remove some of the barriers to sport, with a cost of only $27. Participation Manager encouraged associations to make sure their members are aware of this option. It was also mention South Coast will be holding All Abilities Gala Day at Illawarra on 6 th September. All schools and community groups are encourage to register for a day of fun netball skills & games. Participation Manager to advise all associations once known TBD

Association were asked if they have a uniform policy, with association saying yes and that they are flexible to cater for individual needs regarding their uniform. Then associations were also asked if they do acknowledgement of country or welcome to country during their competition. Netball NSW encourage associations to make acknowledgment to country or welcome to country at the beginning of play. It can start with Grand final day, and build up to becoming a regular part of running their competitions. If associations have any questions regarding the community and diversity space, contact Laura Abrahams Illawarra raised their issue with player subsidy program. Their player was unable to afford the membership in the beginning and had issue receiving the subsidy payment. Association Development Manager suggested association provided their feedback to the Inclusion & Diversity team. Issue to raise with the inclusion & diversity team. 5. Workforce NNSW Coach Development Coordinator introduced the agenda item on behalf of the NNSW workforce team. Coaching A presentation was delivered to Associations members present with the purpose of the session to provide Associations with a year to date progress of coaching accreditations and information on new online procedures. During the presentation there was a discussion regarding the proposed new approach to holding/hosting a coaching course at associations. The feedback provided was that association s agreed in principal to the following steps 1. Ensure all coaches have completed their Prerequisites Development: Rules of Netball Theory Exam & Development Online Intermediate: Development Accreditation minimum 12 months 2. Confirm the participant numbers Note: Development minimum- 8, Intermediate is 5-8 pending the location 3. Coaching convenor emails Netball NSW Coach Development Coordinator to confirm the date 4. Dates are then published on the NNSW calendar 5. Registrations are open on Mynetball and

participants can book into their course. A discussion was facilitated around where coach education is going 2018 and beyond and the opportunities for not only coaches but the coach convenors. Umpiring The purpose of this session was to provide associations with a year to date progress of umpiring in NSW and key dates in 2019. presented the accreditation numbers for the Riverina and this was met with a discussion around the following statistics: National C 17 Accreditations National B 5 National A 0 Comparison National C % across NSW National B % across NSW 6% 9% The Associations were provided an update on the umpire course/education that were occurring between now and March 2018 with an explanation regarding the move from a two day C camp to a one day. All associations agreed in principle to the change NetED Prior to the planning meeting each association was requested to complete the NetED survey to assist NNSW in developing what the NetED program would look like. This survey was sent to the following people: Secretary Coach Convenor Umpire Convenor NNSW have based the 2018 NetEd off the following surveys: 2017 Participant feedback Planning survey The Association members were then provided the opportunity to discuss the justification around the change for 2018, each association agreed in principle to splitting the NetED into the following

4 x 3hr sessions comprising of: Coaching Beginner Coaches (including foundation) Umpiring Nationally Accredited Coaches Beginner umpires Accredited session RDM to email all associations regarding the logistics around the NetED 14.08.2017 To assist with reaccreditation and updating all NetED session were confirmed to be moving to registrations through MyNetball for 2018 and would still be free for members. Each association requested they would be able to take the information back to their association and discussion the following: - Date for the NetED - Venue - Optimal deliver (delivery over one day or two) 6. Regional League The following dates were agreed upon for South Coast Regional League 2018: - Sunday 29 th April - Sunday 6 th May Discussion occurred around the location of regional league. Associations felted that the court hire cost from this year was too high and would like other venues to be consisted. It was decided the Goulburn would be the prefer option to host Regional League, followed by Illawarra. This will depended on the cost of the venue hire. Discussion around game and finals format to be decided in the March meeting. RDM will source quotes for venues then email associations asking for feedback RDM to add to agenda for March meeting End of August March 2018 7. Regional Dates The following dates for the 2018 South Coast calendar have been set: Regional Meetings: - Teleconference: Wednesday 7 th March 2018, 6:30pm Netball NSW staff to work with host associations on dates. Dec 2018

- Planning Meeting : Sunday 12 th August 2018, 10am Shoalhaven Netball Association Representative/Development Carnivals: - Queanbeyan 4 TH March - Kiama 27 th May - Illawarra 29 th April 9. General Business i) RDM present the draft program for academies in 2018. A program has been drafted consisting of three blocks and an offseason: - 1 st Block runs from January to April where academies delivery 50% of the Dare to Diamond curriculum in the lead up the Academy Games in April - 2 nd Block is a theory bases runs from May to July and allows athletes to concentrate on training with their local rep team in the lead up the State Age - Block 3 where academies will deliver the remaining 50% of Dare to Develop a Diamond program. - This new program will allow athletes to dedicate more time to their local associations in the lead up to State Age and inline more with the Netball NSW state trails. Also to be noted there will be 3 touch points within the Academy program in 2018 that the athletes will be seen from National and State coaches to be Identified for the NNSW pathway. They Academy Games, Regional High Performance Camp and the Academy Challenge. ii) Illawarra raised the issue around umpire payments in their association. Umpires are receiving payments will in advance of what the association suggest payment should be. Workforce Manager stated this is a known issue across the state, however are still working on a solution. 10.
