At the Courthouse...District Contest, May 18 th in Vernon. District 3 4-H Roundup will be held in Vernon at the Wilbarger Auditorium and Vernon Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday, May 18, 2016. Roundup Contests will include Share-the-Fun, Educational Presentations, Public Speaking and the Science, Engineering, &Technology Poster Contest. Ages for each division are: Juniors Grades 3, 4, 5 Intermediate Grades 6, 7, 8 Senior Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 Shooting Sport practice will be held every 2nd and 4th Sunday @ 3:00 p.m. Practice will be at the Circle U Ranch. PAGE 3 VOLUME 15-16, ISSUE 9 District 3 4-H Roundup May 18 Roundup Contests will include Share-the-Fun, Educational Presentations, Public Speaking and the Science, Engineering, &Technology Poster Contest Ages for each division are: Juniors Grades 3, 4, 5 Intermediate Grades 6, 7, 8 Senior Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 District Trap Shoot May 21 The Northwest Texas Field and Stream Association will host the District 3 4-H Trap Shoot. Check -in and practice will begin at 8:30 am. All shooters must check-in by 8:30 AM in order for teams to be squadded. Competition will start at 10:00 AM with Juniors, followed by Intermediates and Seniors. Leadership Lab June 13-15 District Teen Leadership Lab will be held in June at the Texas 4-H Conference Center at Lake Brownwood. The Theme this year is Christmas in June There will ve workshops and activities dealing with Leadership, Public Speaking, Business Meeting Basics, Career and Technology, Personal Leadership Development, and of course DANCING! Sate 4-H Roundup June 7-9, College Station The Texas 4-H Roundup is a qualifying and invitational event for 4-H youth who placed in a district level round up or signed up to compete in one of the invitational events. The Texas 4-H Roundup has around 50 diverse competitions that tie in with the many projects that 4-H has to offer State Dog Show July 8-10, Bell County Expo The state 4-H dog show is held each year in July, and offers classes in agility, rally, obedience, costume, tricks, drill, showmanship and conformation. Some counties host 4-H Dog Shows. These contests will be publicized on the project page on the 4-H members tab. Texas 4-H Congress July 23-30 Texas 4-H Congress allows 4-H members to experience the law making process first hand by writing, submitting, and then serving as a member of the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Press, or as a Lobbyist. From these roles, the 4-H members determine the fate of each bill submitted. State 4-H Horse Show July 23 July 30 Competitors must qualify through their district in order to compete at this event. You can compete in events like western pleasure, working cowhorse, hunter under saddle, and barrel racing, to name a few. The State 4-H horse show is held each summer.
