November 16th! Parents, please make sure that any guest who may be attending the feast is already listed on your child's blue card in the front office. If the guest is not listed, it will cause delay in them getting in the cafeteria to eat lunch with your child. You must come into the front office to add any necessary persons to your child s card. ~This cannot be done over the phone~ Cut out this form and return to your child s teacher by Wednesday, November 16th. If a student was photographed on our original picture day, but chooses to have their picture re-taken, they must bring the original pictures back and hand them to the photographer. The same pose and package will be used for the re-take. The PTO Yearbook Coordinator will determine which photo is used in the school yearbook. Eagle Notes... This week our 4th graders will be participating in the L.E.T.S. Program (Law Enforcement Teaching Students), with Officer Brand of the Humble ISD Police Department. This is a life-skills program that focuses on self-confidence, conflict management, decision making and peer pressure. Cookie Dough orders will be in for pick-up on NOVEMBER 17th! Please mark your calendars now! All orders MUST be picked up on this date! ~Time To Be Announced~ Attention 5th Graders! Living History Reminders... Students should be writing and practicing their oral presentations, which they will present in class November 14-17th. Sign-ups will begin next Monday. Also, parents, get those costume parts now before all the Halloween costumes go away! CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Cannon s 5th Grade Class and Mrs. Phipps Kindergarten Class! They were the Red Ribbon Walk-A- Thon WINNERS, with Mr. Cannon s class walking 8.86 laps and Mrs. Phipps Class walking 8.8 laps. Way to go students! Library News Scholastic Book Fair is coming! Dates: November 14-November 18. Times: 7:30-4:00 M-W; 7:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday (Family Night); and 7:30-1:00 p.m. on Friday. This fall you can also shop the book fair online, starting on November 4 and running through November 23. You will pay online but our school still gets Scholastic points. The books will be delivered to the school, and your child will bring them home. The link is www.scholastic.com/schoolbookfairs, but remember, online shopping does not start until November 4! The Book Fair theme is Books Are Out of This World, and the library is sponsoring an Alien Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Rules and deadlines are in last week's Eagle Eye Newsletter. Each grade-level winner will receive a $5.00 coupon to spend at the book fair! Also coming up in the Library... Nov 17th: 4th Grade Author Presentation: HJ Ralles, author of Ghosts of Malhado. Tuesday, November 8th ~ 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. 20% of all the evening s proceeds will be donated to the ESE PTO! * The class with the best attendance will be given a prize by Spring Creek. * All ESE Eagles should sign-in at the front door. * Come see your TEACHERS serving rolls in the dining room! FALL FLING Friday, November 18th 7:00-9:00 pm Wrapped Candy Drive November 7th ~ 11th (formerly Spring Sock Hop) Mark your calendars for an evening of fun Disco Style! All ESE families are invited for a free night of food, dancing & fun ~ it's PTO's gift to you! So get out your boogie shoes and start practicing your dance moves! There will be contests & prizes. Hope to see you there! Spread a little holiday cheer to our Veteran s serving overseas! All wrapped candy (individual pieces or bags) brought in during the drive will be donated to the Blue Star Moms, a non-profit service organization made up of Mothers of current military men and women as well as veterans. http://www.bluestarmoms.org Page 3

HONORING OUR VETERANS! On Friday, November 11th, ESE will host a Veteran's Day Breakfast in the cafeteria from 7:30-8:00 a.m. All veterans and active military are welcome to enjoy breakfast with the students and hear patriotic music from our choir. We would like to also recognize our veterans and active military by placing their names and photos on our WALL OF HONOR! Please fill out the information form below and send it, along with a copy of a picture, to school with your child no later than Friday, November 4th. Please write the name of the veteran on the back of the photo and send a photo-print copy only, no original photos, as they will not be returned. Thank you!
