There were times when we had to take up collections to pay our bills. Other times when Moose International had to wait a month or two for us to pay them whatever we could afford. But we made it. We made it because every time we had a single dime to invest in making our Lodge better, our members stepped up and made it count by donating their time and efforts to make our investment shine. We have worked hard, and now it s time to finish off some of our projects and take the time to clean and maintain what we have built. We have a clean-up, fix-up day scheduled for Saturday, August 6th, at 9:00 am, and possibly Sunday, August 7th. Also, there are many projects that need to be completed. We have wire and plugs donated for the RV spots that need to be installed. It would be great to run some water out there as well. Two truck loads of Governor s Story We have a lot of fun stuff to do this month. We will have an 8- ball pool tournament on Saturday August 20th starting at 9:00 am with a guaranteed $250 to the winner. Stacey is back for karaoke on Saturday, August 27th at 8:00. So bring your singing voice and have a good time. It may not sound like fun but we do need to clean up and maintain our lodge. Join us the first Saturday this month, August 6th, for a millings have been donated to spread out to make a parking lot, and we need help for that project. Also, an 8 foot projection TV needs to be put up and some insulation repaired in the back room if we can get some scaffolding or a scissors lift. In addition, we have brand new bar stools on their way. If you would like to donate $100 for one, your name will be put on a plaque and attached to the back of the barstool indicating who donated. Thank you for all your efforts that have made our lodge what it is. I know we sometimes get tired and just want to sit back and enjoy what we have built. We need those times. So put forth your efforts when and how you can. Then sit back in the new bar stools or on our beautiful deck, have a cold beverage, and enjoy what you have built. Fraternally, Roy Rawlings clean-up day. Lunch will be provided for those volunteering and helping us keep our lodge looking great. Finally, thanks to all who have worked so hard on renovating and building the lodge into the great place that it is now. Your efforts have really paid off and our members should feel pride in what we have accomplished. Thank you. Scooter Neel

Then, we invite them to attend one of the Youth Awareness Congresses that will be held in the coming months in our area. The main goal of the Youth Awareness Program is to organize high school students into a speakers bureau to educate preschool and elementary schoolaged (4-9 year-old) children on a variety of topics such as drug and alcohol abuse, bully, child abuse and peer pressure. The high school students create Come into the lodge to see all of the latest membership campaigns. We have several going on. Don t forget Lodge membership dues will increase to $50.00 a year effective August 29th. That means, for new applicants as of August 29, the cost to join will be $70.00 ($50 dues plus the $20 application fee). We still have our Bull Moose program too. The latest sponsor of a new member becomes the Bull Moose. As Bull Moose, the sponsor receives his first drink of the night FREE! This continues each night until another Lodge member sponsors an applicant for membership. So join the race to see your name in lights as the Bull Moose! So come by the lodge to pick up an application today. KidsTalks, presentations that are given to these 4-9 year-old children to help them make healthy choices in their lives. One student, who has completed the minimum number of Kids Talks, will be selected to attend the International Youth Awareness Congress and compete to receive one of five scholarships. The selected student will also receive a $1,000 from the FBMA.
