Hello Educators, We are so excited to offer K-12 school students the opportunity to ride the Royal Gorge Route Railroad this year! Our program allows our teachers to bring their class on a train trip that not only shows them the beauty of the Royal Gorge but also highlights some of Colorado s amazing history. The Royal Gorge Route Railroad was originally dubbed the Scenic Line of the World because of its stunning scenery and classic railcar dining service both of which remain today. The Royal Gorge was formed by three million years of erosion. It s one of North America s narrowest and dramatic canyons with near-vertical granite walls soaring more than 1,000 ft. above our track. The Royal Gorge is home to North America s highest suspension bridge which you can view from the train s open-air car at one of the most impressive points within the Royal Gorge. The upper Arkansas River, which runs alongside the train, is one of America s most popular sections of whitewater rafting trips. There are many outfitters who offer trips down the river; some offering combination excursions with the Royal Gorge Route and other attractions The Guidelines for our Education discount is as follows: We will be hosting one school a day. Seating and availability are limited, we recommend that you book early. Attached is a calendar that has available days as well as the blackout days. Vista Dome Modern glass observation dome cars were introduced to the rails in 1945 as a means of allowing passengers a better view of the passing scenery through a raised panoramic mostlyglass enclosure (dome). All total, 236 dome cars of various configurations were constructed over the next decade. In 1954 and 1955 thirty full-length domes were designed and built by the Budd and Pullman Company s, representing the pinnacle of this design. We are very fortunate to have been able to acquire four of these unique full-length dome cars, two from each manufacturer. On our railroad they are perfectly suited to take-in the sheer verticality that our route through the gorge has to offer! Breakfast, lunch, and dinners are all fresh and available as a prepaid addition to your trip or as an individual purchase onboard. Our knowledgeable and friendly waitstaff will take your order from our Bistro Menu and fill you in on all the history of the Gorge and surrounding areas during your trip with us. Don t feel like eating? Try one of our fabulous drinks from our fully stocked bar.

We have remodeled five club cars and each one is unique in its own way.
