LEG RUFFLE Working in rem free lps of Rnd 21 of leg, attach white, ch 1, sc in same st, ch 2, [sc, ch 2] in each st around, join in beg sc, Sew legs to body about 3 rnds in front of lower body seam. HAIR For bangs, cut 20 strands of rust each 6 inches in length. Taking 2 strands at a time, fold them in half, insert hook into st at Rnd 1 at top of head, and draw fold through, draw cut ends through lp formed on hook. Rep, attaching strands for bangs across top of head; trim ends evenly. Cut 70 strands of rust each 12 inches in length. Thread a long length of rust onto tapestry needle. Laying 2 strands of yarn at a time across top of head, backstitch a center part line from top of head down to about 2 rnds above neck, catching the center of the long strands and tacking to head as work progresses. Thread a long length of rust into yarn needle and insert it under a few sts of Rnd 13 at side of head; tie the hair tightly to side of head with this strand. Rep on opposite side of head. Braid hair and tie ends with another strand of rust yarn. Cut 4 lengths of ribbon each 14 inches long. Attach a ribbon to top and bottom of braids and tie ends in bows. ARM Rnd 1: Starting at shoulder, with light plum, ch 14, sc in first ch, sc in each rem ch around. (14 sc) Rnd 2: Sc in each sc around. Rnds 3 10: Rep Rnd 2. With thumb pointing inward, fold top of arm flat across and sew to Rnd 2 of body. PINAFORE Waistband Row 1: With white, ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, turn. (2 sc) Rows 2 45: Ch 1, sc in each of next 2 sc, turn. Row 46: Ch 3 (for buttonhole), sk first sc, sc in next sc, SKIRT Row 1: Working in side edge of rows of waistband, attach white with sl st in end of Row 45, ch 4, tr in same row as beg ch-4, work 2 tr in end of each row across, turn. (90 tr) Rows 2 7: Ch 4, tr in each tr across, turn. Row 8: Ch 1, sc in same st as beg ch-1, [ch 2, sc in next tr] rep across, Sew button to Row 1 of waistband.

SHOULDER STRAPS Row 1: With white, ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, turn. (2 sc) Rows 2 16: Ch 1, sc in each of next 2 sc, turn. At the end of Row 16, Row 17: Attach white in side edge of Row 1 of strap, ch 4, 2 tr in same st as beg ch-4, 3 tr in end of each row across, (48 tr) BIB Row 1: With white, ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn. (10 sc) Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Row 3: Sl st in first sc, [ch 1, sl st in next sc] rep across, Place skirt of pinafore on doll and fasten button at back. Pin straps in place at front and back of waistline and pin bib at front between straps; remove from doll. Sew straps and bib to waistline of pinafore. Use care to remove all straight pins. Weave a length of ribbon through Row 7 of skirt over 2 tr, under 2 tr across, tack ends of ribbon on WS of apron skirt. Attach rem length of ribbon to Row 1 of bib at center, tie ends in a bow. Place pinafore on doll and fasten button at back.
