SHOW RULES & REGULATIONS GROUNDS & ARENA 1. Lamoille County Field Days (LCFD) prohibits the use of alcohol on the fairgrounds and dogs on the grounds with the exception of Service Dogs. 2. By entering in a Lamoille County Field Days Open Horse Show every participant agrees to abide by Lamoille County Field Days rules. 3. No Stabling is available on the grounds. Exhibitors may arrive on the fairgrounds starting at 7:00 a.m. and all horses must be removed within 2 hours of the conclusion of the show. Please pickup after yourself and your horse(s) before leaving. 4. Riders must be in control of their horse at all times when on the fairgrounds. No cantering outside of the Main arena, or Warm -up arena. Warm-up arena is located to the left of the gate to the main arena and will be marked as such. No horses are allowed around the snack food area. 5. Approved ASTM helmets are required for all riders under the age of 18. Use helmets for those 18 and over are strongly recommended for all exhibitors to do so. 6. Horses that kick should have a RED ribbon tied in their tails. All stallions should have a YELLOW ribbon tied in their tail. REGISTRATION & CLASSES 1. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and closes 15 minutes prior to the posted start time. 2. All entries must be signed by participant and participant s birth date must be given. Proof of age must be given, if requested by an official committee member. In case of a minor (under 18 years of age), the entry form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Proof of guardianship will be required. 3. All fees must be paid by the participant before the participant will be allowed to compete. No entry will be permitted in the ring unless they have paid or a signed open check is left with the Secretary. 4. There will be a returned check fee of $50.00. The participant will not be allowed to compete again until the total amount due including the returned check fee is paid in cash. Lamoille County Field Days reserves the right to demand cash payment from individuals who have issued a check returned for insufficient funds. 5. NO REFUNDS will be given, UNLESS ILLNESS OR INJURY WITH NOTE FROM DOCTOR/VET SUBMITTED TO MANAGEMENT BY NOON SATURDAY. Refunds may be given, at the discretion of the Show Manager, if classes are not able to be held due to severe weather. 6. REQUIRED EQUINE PAPERWORK: A negative coggins and rabies certificate within the past 12 months is required to enter the premises for all horses whether participating in the day s classes or not, and must be presented when entering classes. Breed Registration forms must be presented to enter any breed specific classes. OUT OF STATE HORSES must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection dated within 30 days available OR an Extended Exhibition Permit. Due to recent outbreaks of EHV, we strongly recommend all horses receive the Rhino vaccination at least 3 weeks prior to show season and not more than 6 months prior to. It is also recommended that while at our event you check your horse s temperature at least twice to help ensure the safety of all horses. 7. SHOW RULES- Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current Vermont Horse Shows Association; NEHC, USEF (for Morgan Classes, and AQHA (for Quarter Horse classes) rulebooks and will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. 8. Exhibitors are responsible for knowing the requirements and specifications of the classes they enter. LCFD is not responsible if exhibitors are disqualified or penalized by the judge or steward for using unconventional/incorrect tack or attire for the class. 9. DELAY OF CLASSES/HOLDS: Every effort has been made to avoid class conflicts and tack changes. If either should occur, a hold of four (4) minutes, will be allowed if the show steward is notified at least three (3) classes beforehand. The exhibitor with the tack hold may be excused from the ring when judge s cards are handed into the Secretary s booth. The Steward is to time tack holds starting when the last exhibitor leaves the ring. The In- Gate will be closed two (2) minutes after the first animal enters the ring unless there is a hold or tack change noted by the steward. Exhibitors must be on time for their classes to keep the show moving along. In the event that the PA system fails, exhibitors will still be expected to appear on time. No refunds for failing to enter the ring on time or for completing your trail class before it 10. MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO: add to or change the name of invited official(s); decline or refuse any entry at this show without being held liable; eliminate from further competition any exhibitor or equine should the best interest of the show be served; not delay classes due to conflicts, and not to allow substitutions of animals or classes; change the order of classes before or during the show and combine or cancel classes. Should questions or disputes arise not provided for in the foregoing rules, the same shall be referred to the show steward whose decision shall be final.
