Glossary Of Terms CQT YOG AA QRE Continental Qualifying Tournament. (Event where nations qualify places for YOG) Youth Olympic Games Archery Australia Qualifying and Ranking Event NYAC2014 National Youth Archery Championships 2014 AOC IOC WA MQS NOC Australian Olympic Committee International Olympic Committee World Archery Minimum Qualification Standard National Olympic Committee NYAC National Youth Archery Championships, South Australia 15 th -19 th April 2014 Introduction This document outlines the selection requirements for the following event: 2014 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Page 3

Oceania Continental Qualifying Tournament (CQT) 2014 Australia gained two quota places at the Continental Qualification Tournament held in Auckland, New Zealand on 15-16 February 2014. This was for one male and one female athlete. Youth Olympic Games (YOG) 2014 The YOG 2014 is being held in Nanjing China from the 16 th - 28 th August 2014. The IOC has imposed a maximum limit per nation of 70 athletes from individual sports and a maximum of two teams (one male and one female). This has resulted in the AOC introducing an AOC athlete quota which for some sports is less than the number of athletes that can qualify for Australia under the qualification system of each sport. There are 3 events in the Archery competition in the Youth Olympic Games: Men s Individual, Women s Individual and Mixed Team. The Mixed Teams consists of 2 athletes of different gender and teamed up according to the ranking of each gender in the Ranking Round they may be from different or the same NOC. 32 athletes will compete in the Men s Individual event. 32 athletes will compete in the Women s Individual event. All 64 athletes will compete in the Mixed Team event. A maximum of 1 male athlete and 1 female athlete may be entered by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) to compete in the Archery competition. The level of competition at Youth Olympic Games is very high. As such the expectation and qualification scores are reflectively high. Page 4
