Here is what is trending today at Carson: Activity Are you interested in learning how to twirl a baton? Do you want to become a North Allegheny Majorette? Then the 3rd Annual North Allegheny Majorette Mini-Camp is where you need to be. The mini-camp is open to grades K-11 and will be held on Wednesday nights beginning October 18th. Look for the flyers and posters around the school for more details and information on registration. Are you an artist? Would you like to have your own artwork featured on the cover of the Carson student directory? If so, enter the Carson directory cover contest. Each entry should have a Carson theme and be drawn on white unlined paper. Use a thin black marker such as a fine point Sharpie. Drawings should be no bigger than 10 tall, by 7 ½ wide. Be sure to put your name and homeroom (in pencil) on the back of your paper. Entries should be submitted to the front office by this Friday, October 6th. Good luck! Plan to attend an informational meeting on Monday, October 16th at 7:00 in the NASH auditorium to learn more about the upcoming 8th GRADE NIGHT on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20TH when you will march with the NA marching Band. Talk to your band director or pick up a flyer in the main office for more information. Picture Day SMILE CARSON! Fall picture day will be held on Friday, October 6th. Students will be called by homeroom to have their pictures taken. All students are required to fill out the picture form, even if you don t want to order pictures. If you do want to order please be sure to bring your
money, check, or online order receipt. It is recommended that you wear shirts, pants, and skirts in a solid color. SAY CHEESE! Sports Attention all CMS Students and Staff Members: Football season is here! Don t hesitate to show your NA spirit and show your NA pride. Get your official NA Black Out Shirt! On October 6th, the NA Black Out T-shirts will be on sale during all 3 lunch periods here at CMS. Shirts will also be available on Friday nights at the actual football game. If you want to purchase your very own NA Black Out T-shirt- there are two styles: The short-sleeved shirts are only $10.00 each and long-sleeved shirts are only $15.00. You can bring cash or checks. If you bring a check, make them out to NA Cheer Boosters. Don t be left behind & get your t-shirt soon! Join in for the NA Football Black Out and wear your new t-shirt to all the home football games!! Proceeds from the sale of these t-shirts will benefit the NA cheerleading program. Tomorrow, Thursday, October 5, the NA girls varsity volleyball team will be competing against rivals Pine Richland in a huge match that has your top ranked Tigers playing against the #2 ranked Rams. This will be a feature Pink Out night for all fans. The Middle School girls volleyball players will be recognized before that game. The members of the middle school teams will receive free entry into the match and all students will have $1 ticket night. Come support your NA volleyball players and catch a great matchand don't forget to wear your pink in support of October's Breast Cancer Awareness month! Attention all boys interested in trying out for the 7th and 8th grade basketball teams this winter: there is an open gym again today from 3-4:30 in the gym. Please make sure that your rides are here by 4:30. This is for 7th and 8th grade boys only! Attention all girls in 7th and 8th grade who may be interested in participating in North Allegheny softball next Spring. The middle school softball coaches will be offering skill work and conditioning sessions beginning today from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Marshall Middle School
Gym. There will be two sessions per week from October through March. All interested players are encouraged to attend! Student Council CMS students, if you applied for student council, then check out the list outside of Mr. Frasca s room. The list will be there through Friday, and it has the names of this year s homeroom representatives. Student Council s first meeting will Tuesday, October 10th during activity period. More details to come. Any Student that needs to receive a prize from the magazine sale, that did not receive it already, should report to the student council office outside the auditorium during Activity period today.
