Well!! The holidays are nearly upon us. After such a busy and exciting term, I m sure everyone is looking forward to a well-deserved, relaxing break and an enjoyable holiday time. This term we have seen some fabulous performances in our Kallista Clowning Around production, our Mini-Olympics, our 5/6 Music performances, the lunchtime chess competitions and importantly it has been a wonderful term for learning. The classrooms are full of fabulous pieces of writing, maths and research projects and we can see our students enthusiastically engaged in learning across all areas of the curriculum. Wed 19th Thinking Outside the Box program begins Well done Kallista kids!! November Book Week Dress-up Day Tues 1st Cup Day Fri 4th Ball Sports Fri 11th Athletics Day At Kallista Primary we all value: The parade of characters we saw at assembly was amazing! Dressing up and sharing our favourite book characters was a great success and so much fun. We saw humorous characters, scary characters, historical characters, animals and robots, as well as a living, breathing sheep. Amazing! But this was really a wonderful celebration of the great Literacy learning that takes place at Kallista. Books really do play an important role in our lives!! Well done students of Kallista. (Look for the photos in this issue of Miniscope) Book Week Book Fair A big Kallista thank you to Kerrie and all the parents who helped make our 2016 Book Fair such a tremendous success. Some beautiful books and novelty items brought big smiles to many of our enthusiastic shoppers. Happy reading everyone.

On Tuesday the 13 of September, the senior classes participated in an interschool sports round robin. 10 senior girls did netball. It was super rainy and we were all soaked to the bone. Unfortunately, the KPS girl s netball team lost all three games, but scored two goals. Even though we weren t that successful, it was still a great experience By Zahra and Amy. Minky We had a great day out in the wet playing Minky at the Monbulk soccer grounds. We played really well against the other teams and Rowan and Indi scored a few goals. It was raining throughout the whole day but everyone kept their spirits high by cheering for the other Kallista team. There were two teams and they alternated playing games against the other schools. We won one game and the lost the other two, but all the games were really close separated by only one goal. I d like to thank Jakob especially for helping me out during the course of the day and everyone else for being a really great team. This day couldn t have been done without Mrs Morris organising and coaching us to become Minky players. Written by Indi Football inter-school sports It was a cold and wet day at Monbulk. It was the 13/9/2016, our school had Inter-school sports. I m talking about football so hope you enjoy. We played two games, could have been three but thanks to Harkaway it was two because they forfeited, our whole team played great but we have some players that played there very best like Brielle, Ollie G, Billy and Jett. Our team won all of our two games. The captains were Jett and Billy they sure deserved it, everyone tried hard and had a go. Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, we made it happen today at Kallista primary football team! By Billy, Jett and Ollie G.
