RULES OF THE NATIVE HEART HEALING, INC BENEFIT HORSE SHOW All classes are open to everyone meeting the criteria listed for the class; you need not be an affiliated club member to participate! Local Farrier: Matt Krantz 802 888 3202 Local Veterinarian: VLAC 802 893-6800 Rescue/EMT: Call 911 Food Concession: The Miniature Farm HEALTH REQUIRMENTS: The show management requires proof of negative Coggins Test certificate and a Rabies Vaccination certificate (or proof thereof) dated within 12 months for EVERY ANIMAL. No exhibitor and their equine will be allowed to stay on show grounds without proof. It is the responsibility of exhibitors from out-of-state traveling into Vermont to meet the State of Vermont s Ag. & Market Health Requirements. FEES & REFUND POLICY: Class fees are $8. each pre-entry, $10 one-time fee after postmark date or at show. Entry fees MUST be paid before entering classes. A signed, blank check made out to Native Heart Healing, LLC may be included with your entries as payment. There will be a $30.00 surcharge, plus collection fees added to all checks returned by the bank. All entries not paid in full at the show will be charged a $25.00 billing fee. There will be absolutely no refunds on stall fees. There will be no class fee refunds without a veterinarian certificate or a doctor certificate presented or received within 24 hours of the conclusion of the show. There will be refunds given due to inclement weather, unless the show itself is cancelled due to severe weather. STABLING: A very limited number of permanent box stall are available which include shavings. We suggest calling ahead for availability. 802 373-6835 You are responsible for cleaning of stall(s) before leaving or opting to pay a cleaning charge. Stalls will be inspected by a grounds official before cleaning deposit is reimbursed. One animal per stall, with the exception of small ponies (under 13hh), miniature horses and mares with foals. ARRIVAL/REMOVAL: Horses may arrive Saturday after 6 am but stalls will not be available until after 7 am and must be removed 1 hours at conclusion of show. RULES: Exhibitors are responsible for knowing the rules pertaining to the classes they enter. Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current VHSA, USEF and /or specific breed Rule Books and will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. By signing the entry form you agree to abide by the rules of this show. RULE BOOKS are available at the secretary s stand for reviewing. NOTE: PLEASE SEE HARD HATE RULE LISTED BELOW. ATTIRE & EQUIPMENT: All riders, drivers and attendants shall be neatly, cleanly and correctly attired for the class in which they are exhibiting. It shall be the show manager, the judge and/or the steward to exclude from the ring, anyone home they do not consider suitably presented to appear before the audience interested in their class. Definitions of correct attire can be found in the current VHSA Rule Book or any of the specific breed rulebooks. All animals being exhibited shall have the correct equipment for the class in which they are exhibiting. It shall be the prerogative of the show manager, the judge and/or the steward to exclude from the ring, and animal that they do not consider suitable equipped to show in their class. Definitions of correct equipment can be found in the current VHSA Rule Book or any of the specific breed rule books. DOGS***NO DOGS ALLOWED***If you arrive on the grounds with a dog, you will be asked to leave. OTHER: Schooling allowed anywhere on grounds unless announced otherwise or posted at the entry stand. Measuring area will be posted at the entry stand and/or announced at show. Exhibitors 18 and under must wear ASTM/SEI protective headgear regardless of seat in all classes. Adults may wear helmets without penalty from the judge and must wear them in any class with jumps. Native Heart Healing, Inc Benefit Horse Show Open Classes New Beginner- Ages 10 and under, or any age rider with disabilities, all seats. Riders may be accompanied by an assistant who is at least 14 years old into the ring. Walk, limited trot. Will be judged on ability to complete the class with as little verbal assistance as needed. Will be penalized for needing hands on help. Equitation is based on rider s seat, hands, legs and ability to control the horse. Pleasure is based on the horse s ability to give a pleasurable ride. Horsemanship will be 50% rail work (equitation combined with pleasure) 50% knowledge (judge will ask at least 2 questions). Discipline rail is based on the rider who makes the least mistakes after a series of commands are given. Green Horse/Pony- A walk, trot/jog only division. Riders 19 and over only Open Driving Reinsmanship- This class is open to all horses and ponies. Judged as an equitation class on hands, proper harnessing and hitching, and correct driving techniques. Driver should be able to change gaits quickly, smoothly, and unobtrusively while always maintaining contact and using correct driving techniques. 90% on handling of reins and whip, control, posture, and overall appearance of driver. 10% on proper harnessing and hitching, condition of harness and vehicle, and neatness of attire. All drivers will execute a posted pattern, one at a time. After all entries have done their patterns, the miniature horses/small ponies (all 48 and under) will come in and do rail work. They will then line up in the middle and large ponies and horses will come in and do their railwork. All entries will be pinned as one class. Day End Championships are based on points accumulated in these classes offered and will receive awards for Champion and Reserve Champions Division Championships: New Beginner: 15, 16, 18, 19 (Must do all 4 to qualify) Beginner: 3, 8, 9, 10, 14, 23, 36, 43, 48, 55, 60 (must do at least 5 to qualify) Advanced Beg: 3, 8, 9, 10, 14, 22, 37, 48, 53, 55, 60 (Must do at least 5 to qualify) Junior/Senior: 3, 8, 9, 10, 14, 22, 37, 48, 53, 55, 60 (Must do at least 5 to qualify) Adult: 1, 8,9, 10, 14, 20, 25, 34, 40, 42, 45, 49, 52, 54, 56, 59 (Must do at least 5 to qualify) Adult Walk/Trot: 4, 8, 9, 10, 14, 24, 38, 48, 51, 55, 61 (Must do at least 5 to qualify) Green: 5, 8, 9, 10, 14, 26, 39, 48, 51, 55, 61 (Must do at least 5 to qualify) Miniature/Small Pony in hand: 6, 7, 14, 17, 28, 57, 62, 63 (Must do at least 5 to qualify) Driving: Any appropriate Showmanship, 14, 27 OR 50, 33, 46 (Must do all 5 to qualify) Grand Champion & Reserve Grand Champion is awarded to the persons receiving the highest points received with same horse same rider of the day.
