HeartBeats Music and Dance Student Performance Newsletter Our student performances for the 2013-2014 dance year will be held at West Springfield High School (6100 Rolling Rd.) on Saturday, June 14 th. In an effort to reduce the length of our recital and not have to limit the number of tickets sold per student, we will hold two separate performances. Please understand that we have done our best to divide the performances in a way that is most convenient to the majority of dancers and their families. Due to the number of students enrolled in multiple classes, it is not possible to keep every dancer in only one performance. Please see below to determine which performance(s) your child(ren) will be in. Students must arrive promptly, in costume, with hair and make-up done as if for the performance. All Performances for June 14th: Students must arrive at West Springfield High School dressed for their first dance with full make up 45 minutes before their performance is scheduled to begin. 9:45 for the Cast A (10:30 am performance) 12:45pm for the Cast B (1:30pm performance) 3:45pm for the Cast C (4:30pm performance) For your dancer s safety, all participating students must remain backstage throughout the entire performance. Only students, parent volunteers, and HeartBeats staff will be allowed backstage. The auditorium doors will open 30 minutes before each performance is scheduled to begin. In Studio Rehearsal Schedule: There will not be any regular dance classes the week June 9 th -June 14 th. The last day of regularly scheduled classes will be Saturday, June 7 th. Recital Performance for Cast A (10:30am) Monday June 9 th 6:00pm-8:00pm Wednesday June 11 th 6:00pm-8:00pm Recital Performance for Cast B (1:30pm) Tuesday June 10 th 6:00pm-9:00pm Recital Performance for Cast C (4:30pm) Thursday June 12 th 6:00-9:00pm Backstage Volunteers: We are seeking parent volunteers for each class with an average age of less than 12 years to work backstage during each performance. The volunteers will remain in the backstage area throughout the performance and will assist HeartBeats staff with lining the students up to go on stage, walking students to the bathroom, helping students with costume changes, and helping maintain order in the backstage area so that the performance can run smoothly. Volunteers will be able to observe their child's performance from the auditorium. Volunteers do not need to purchase a ticket for that performance. Please call the studio or stop by the front desk if you are willing to volunteer.
Costume payments are due IN FULL no later than Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014* The costume charges are as follows: Ages 8 and under $75 per costume Ages 9 and over $90 per costume *A $15.00 late fee will be charged per costume for balances not paid by January 15th. An $80 family recital fee will be charged April 1 st. A $30 Photo package per dancer will be charged on May 1 st. The recital package includes 4 tickets to the recital, a recital dvd, hi-res. Digital photo of each of their groups and two individual digital photos of each dancer. Tickets: Additional Tickets will be sold for $10.00 per audience member in advance, $12.00 if purchased at dress rehearsal, and $15.00 at the door. Tickets will be required for all audience members, including young children, and seating will be general admission. Ticket fees are used to cover various costs, including rental of the auditorium for both dress rehearsals and recitals, as well as fees for the sound and lighting technician(s), custodians, a school supervisor, and HeartBeats staff members. Guests will not be allowed to record or take flash photographs during the performance, but parents may do so during the dress rehearsal. Thank you!
