These are the dates to remember for the rest of the year. 16th July Rnd 12 23rd July 30th July Rnd 14 Rnd 13 & Net & Set Photo Day August 6th and 7th is a long weekend (EKKA) so no Saturday netball, 13th Aug 20th Aug 27th Aug 3rd Sept Rnd 15 & Intermediate Photo Day Rnd 16 Net & Set only (last game day) Semi finals for Intermediate teams Fun Day for Net and Set teams 9-1pm Finals for Intermediate teams Grand Final Intermediate teams 4th Sept (Sunday) SPC PRESENTATION DAY (if no rain) September 10th is a spare round for wet weather..
Don t forget that the next round of GET STARTED VOUCHERS start this week on the 13th of July. If you already received them at the beginning of this year then you are ineligible for this rounds voucher. If you somehow missed out or didn t know about them then please try again for this round. When you receive them, please pass them onto Kathy asap so she can process them ready to help with next years netball fees. https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/sports/ funding/getinthegame/getstarted/apply/ These vouchers run out quickly so you will need to get in as soon as they open on the 13th of July. One issue that has been raised by players, parents and SPC coaches is non-communication if a player is unable to make either training or a game. Please remember that the coaches are all volunteers and are giving up their time to help your children play and learn netball. It does make it very hard to do a training session if they have only 2 or 3 players. Same with Saturday games. The more notice given means that it is easier for the coaches to then try and get other players to fill in rather than forfeit the game. We do understand there are times (illness/emergency) when short notice is unavoidable and this is completely understandable. All we ask for is as much notice as possible to your coach. Thankyou.
The SPC Presentation Day is on Sunday 4th September (if no rain,) we are doing something different compared to previous years. Your coaches will hand out details in the coming weeks as to where and what we have planned. Net and Set will be together and the Intermediate teams will have theirs straight after.
2016 TRAINEE We would like to say congratulations to SPC s newest Trainee Nikita Temomo-Kreet. I am sure Nikita will do a fantastic job during her time as a trainee. Also we would like to say a HUGE thankyou to Jordan Woollett for being our previous trainee. I know Jordan has put in a huge amount of time and effort into his role as the SPC trainee and has done a great job. If any of our older girls, (Grade 10 & 11) who missed out last time, would like to have the opportunity to become an SPC trainee in the future, please do not hesitate to speak to Kathy or Donna. We have 4 new girls who received their merit badges for umpiring since the last newsletter.
