In the lead up to the game, we had 3 changes to our side. During the course of the week, we focussed on our transitioning play and structure set ups which we felt were important areas for us to concentrate on. With the heavens opening up over night, we were greeted with fairly soft conditions. The first term saw Banyule got the jump to lead by 20 points at quarter time. The North Easterly breeze blew across the ground, slightly favouring the clubrooms end where Banyule had kicked for the quarter. It was a very competitive quarter, with both sides played with aggression and attack. The 2nd term was an arm wrestle, with our boys winning the quarter kicking 1.4 to 0.1. However lost opportunities would cost our side dearly, with all momentum for the quarter going our way. In the 3rd quarter, Banyule outscored us kicking 3.3 to 1.2 however the quarter was a ripper. Again both sides through everything at each other. The last term saw Banyule eventually run out winners by a 40 point margin. Our game as a group was very pleasing. A consistent effort was produced over the majority of the ground. I felt our game style of taking risks and playing with flare kept us in the contests throughout the entire game and feel the end score line flattered the opposition. We certainly used the footy better and I feel we are becoming more competitive over a more consistent period of time. Special mentions to: Shaun Harrison who stood tall and dominated up forward, kicking 4 majors; Lachlan Clement who spoiled everything and defended exceptionally well up back; Luke Crowley who played aggressively and won plenty of footy. This week we move forward to our next game as we travel down to St. Marys. SENIORS: Goal Kickers: S. Harrison 4, A. Milne Best Players: M. Webb, P. de Sousa, S. Harrison, B. Bell, L. Clement, M. Tilley U19s REPORT By Paul Phillips (Coach) We were heading into this game knowing it was going to be our toughest; our first half was pretty tough with implementing our new midfield rotations, which were working well, with some individual performances we were just behind at half time. The 3 rd quarter both sides were really trying hard, our backline stood tall and our midfield getting on top it was going to be an exciting last quarter. Going into the last quarter I asked the boys to keep working hard take risks and to play on at every chance, with some really outstanding performances we managed to get in front but with a late goal from Banyule they managed to get over the line. I just want to say how very proud of this group of young men that I am privilege to coach, keep yours heads up as I know there re going to be wins not fair away. UNDER 19s: Goal Kickers: A. Goal Attack Laura Corrick played well against a strong Thomastown defence. Her accuracy in goals and movement around the court has been a great addition to the A grade side and her height is very valuable in the ring. They all moved the ball well down the court with Beck Trefz playing a good game applying pressure to her opponent and finding good space around the court. We welcomed Sam George back to the team this week after being out with an injury. Herself and Jessie knights are a great team defending in the ring, always going hard at it and making it difficult for opposition goalers. This week we hope to continue our run with a game against St Mary s. B GRADE by Elise Woolfe B grade came up against a strong St Mary s side. We struggled to find our feet in the first half so we had to work twice as hard the second half to shorten St Mary s lead. Stand outs for the game were Emily Riely and Tayla Jackson. We went down by 14 goals. Overall we were disappointed with our game but we are eager to come out strong this week. C GRADE By Lois Gardiner Friday 29th saw Kilmore 3 take on Mernda 3. A slow start and a few turnovers in the beginning of the first quarter by both teams saw the ball go up and down before goals were scored. Kilmore seem to settle in quickly and led by 3 goals at the quarter time break. A few positional changes for the second quarter and 4 Centre

Kilmore led by 5 at half time. The third quarter saw many intercepts taken by both Irene Daniels and Monique Rosewall giving Kilmore a 7 goal lead at three quarter time. Changes were made again for the fourth quarter which saw Mernda peg a few goals back quickly but they were unable to keep it up and Kilmore got on a roll and ran out winners 25-15. This gave Kilmore 3 their 1st win for the season. With many happy faces coming off the court the feel between the girls was great. Standouts for the match were Kristy Bandy in her 1st game for the season after her wedding, the ever reliable Irene Daniels and Monique Rosewall with her many many intercepts. Keep up the great work girls. So proud of how you all played. D GRADE By Bronwyn Kinnear With so many new players wanting to join in on the Friday night action the committee decided to form a 4th Kilmore side. What an amazing team effort from a side who were introduced to each other 30 minutes before the game started. Lots of sisterly love was displayed by Jacquie and Veronica in defence and great team work by Sarah, Emily and Bronwyn in the mid court kept the opposition working hard to maintain possession. Young gun Makaela showed some real skill in attack and Amy was solid in goals throughout the game. The newly formed Kilmore side fought hard and come home strong in the last quarter to draw the match at the final term. Well done girls. Overall we are very proud of our 4 netball teams this weekend. We are improving every week and we are very excited that we have been able to put some wins on the board for the Kilmore Football Netball Club. 5
