Description of the Indy Olympics NECC is proud to bring you three consecutive days of high-performance driving in and around Indianapolis, Indiana. This not-to-be-missed spectacular begins with a track day at Putnam Park Road course on Thursday, July 23, followed the next day by drag racing at the famous Muncie Dragway. On Saturday, July 25, the Olympics conclude with an autocross at Lincoln College of Technology. You can register for one, two or all three days. Eligible Cars and Drivers All licensed drivers and all makes and models of cars are welcome to participate in this event including unmodified factory street cars as well as cars modified for track use. All will be subject to our usual safety and tech inspection procedures described below. Our starting grid often includes Porsches, Mazdas, Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, Mini Coopers, Corvairs and more. We have had everything from Ferraris to Yugos on the track with us. No matter what you drive, you will get plenty of time on the track. Sorry, but this event is not open to trucks, vans, or motorcycles. We will mail a tech inspection form to you in return for your payment. 4. Prepare your car for tech inspection. (Mandatory for Option 1 - High Performance Driving cars). 5. Make your hotel reservations. (Refer to the Lodging section below). 6. Arrive at the track for sign-in and tech inspection. 7. Present your car to the NECC tech inspector when you arrive at the track, or better yet, have your inspected the evening before, at the host hotel. (Mandatory for Option 1 - High Performance Driving cars). 8. Be sure to attend the mandatory drivers meeting at 8:00 AM sharp. 9. As a last resort, on-site registration will be available at the track, but if at all possible, please register ahead of time so that we can get you on the track quickly when you arrive. 10. Refer to the Event Schedule for full time table. Registration, Lodging, and Trailer Parking: We have chosen not one, but two host hotels for the Corvair Indy Olympics: (1) Holiday Inn Express in Cloverdale, and (2) Days Inn in Anderson. The Holiday Inn Express in Cloverdale is close to Putnam Park and is the location where we will be doing early-bird tech inspection. If you are driving at Putnam Park, book a room here for the evening before the event so you can get your car inspected and get to the track bright and early. The Days Inn in Anderson is close to Muncie Dragway and is a short hop to Michael and Tracy LeVeque's residence, where we will be having our Friday Evening Mexifest dinner. It's worth noting that the distance between Putnam Park and Muncie Dragway is 111 miles (over 2 hours), and that's without rush hour traffic, which can be severe in and around the City of Indianapolis. If you are doing all three Olympics Events, it may be wise to stay at the Holiday Inn Express the first night and switch to the Days Inn on the second and third nights. Here are details about the two hotels. Page 3 of 3

Host Hotel #1: Holiday Inn Express Cloverdale Holiday Inn Express Cloverdale 1017 N. Main Street, Cloverdale, Indiana 46120 Front desk phone number: (765) 795-5050 Race car trailer parking: Yes Room rate: $94.99 per night. This is a discounted price. Effective: Evenings of Weds July 22 through Sat. July 25 Block code: NCC. (Tell the front desk this code to get the deal). Reserve your room by July 17 to get this deal. The Holiday Inn Express in Cloverdale is close to Putnam Park, which will start earlier than the drags and the autocross. Although Muncie Dragway is all the way on the other side of Indianapolis, it starts later than the other two events. So, Cloverdale should be a good spot. And the online reviews about the hotel, especially the most recent ones, are very good. Host Hotel #2: Days Inn Anderson Days Inn Anderson 5706 S. Scatterfield Road Anderson, Indiana 46013 Front desk phone number: (765)-644-2000 Race car trailer parking: Yes Room rate for Evening of Thursday, July 23: $59.99 Room rate for Evenings of Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25: $75.99 Block code: Corvair Olympics. (Tell the front desk this code for these discounted prices). Bringing Your Car on a Trailer? If you are not staying at one of the host hotels, make sure the hotel you choose has sufficient parking space for your trailer. Day 1 - Thursday - Time Trials at Putnam Park There will be two driving experiences available at Putnam Park: Option 1 - High Performance Driving The "High Performance Driving" option consists of tech inspection and high-speed opentrack sessions in the morning and early afternoon, followed by individual timed laps. Lap times will be recorded by traditional stop-watch methods. Option 2 - Taste of Track The "Taste of the Track" option is a low-cost introductory program oriented toward firsttimers. Drivers lap the track in their own cars for approximately one-half hour behind a pace car. Day 2 - Friday - Drag Racing at Muncie Dragway Type of Competition The Muncie drag races will be a bracket racing event. Bracket racing is a form of drag racing that allows for a handicap between predicted elapsed time of the two cars over the quarter mile strip/ The effect of the bracket racing rules is to place a premium on consistency of performance of the driver and car rather than on raw speed, which in turn makes victory much less dependent on large infusions of money, and more dependent on mechanical and driving skill, such as reaction times, shifting abilities, and ability to control the car. For more info about bracket racing, visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/bracket_racing Muncie Drag Strip Information Track Address, Phone Number, and Website Muncie Dragway 7901 Indiana 28 Albany, Indiana 47320 Page 5 of 5

Please be aware that some of Muncie's rules, such as car classification, tech cards, gold cards, etc., pertain to events conducted by Muncie Dragway for its own account and do not pertain to NECC. Other rules, including conduct, restricted areas, lane choice, leaking, and child safety rules, apply to all users of the track including NECC drivers. Fuel. Electricity. Air. Water. Do not count on these amenities to be available at the drag strip. Day 2 - Friday - Mexifest at LeVeques' Mexican Food with Friends After the drag races, come to Michael and Tracy LeVeque's home in Anderson, Indiana for one of Tracy's famous Mexifest get togethers. Enjoy bench racing and home-made Mexican style food for the ridiculously low price of $5 per head. Pay at the door. Bring chairs. Food ice cups provided. BYOB. Casual attire. Autocross differs from road racing and oval racing in that generally there is only one car on the track, racing against the clock rather than other cars. For more information about autocrossing, visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/autocross Lincoln College of Technology Address Page 6 of 6

Lincoln College of Technology 7225 Winton Drive Indianapolis, IN 46268 Entering Lincoln Tech Premises Please obey all speed limits and other signs posted in parking lots and thoroughfare throughout the college campus. Lincoln Tech Rules & Regulations Lincoln College of Technology is an educational institute and does not conduct autocross events for its own account. NECC rules will prevail. Fuel. Electricity. Air. Water. Fuel, electric power, compressed air, and water are not available for purchase at the site. Day 3 - Saturday - Awards Buffet at MCL Restaurant & Bakery. Description of the Restaurant MCL Restaurant & Bakery, is a chain of American cafeteria-style restaurants. The company began with a single cafeteria in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1950, founded by Charles O. McGaughey and George Laughner. MCL is an abbreviation of their two names. Today, the chain operates locations in Indiana, Illinois and Ohio. They are known for their made-from-scratch foods, featuring fresh, local produce when available. MCL Restaurant & Bakery Address MCL Restaurant and Bakery Indianapolis Township Line 2370 West 86th Street Indianapolis, IN 46260 Phone: (317) 334-1875 Website: http://mymclmeal.com/ Payment for Meals Each person will pay for his or her meal. Payment is not included in the NECC registration fee. The Awards Buffet Arrangements Are Now Final Please be aware that, previously, we planned to be at the MCL's "Southside" location. We changed it to MCL's "Indianapolis Township Line" location because it is closer to Lincoln Tech, which is the site of this day's Autocross. Rules for You and Your Car NECC Rule Book Page 7 of 7

NECC has comprehensive rules for cars and drivers who engage in high speed events. They are posted at our website at: http://www.corvair.org/chapters/necc/rules/necc_rules_all_moving_events.pdf NECC rules will be strictly enforced for cars and drivers who are registered for High Performance Driving at Putnam Park, Drag Racing at Muncie Dragway, and Autocrossing at Lincoln Tech. They will also be enforced for cars and drivers for the Taste of the Track option at Putnam Park except helmets need not be worn and older cars need not be equipped with shoulder belts. Also, Taste of Track cars need not pass tech inspection, although we will gladly inspect your Taste of the Track car if you so desire. NECC Tech Inspection Failure to pass tech inspection will result in your car being disallowed from High Performance Driving. Scroll to the last page of this document to see a sample copy of the NECC Tech Inspection checklist. You will receive your official copy of the NECC tech inspection form when we receive your payment. The form serves as proof of payment. Before you leave home, please inspect your car using the form and make any necessary adjustments or repairs. Then, when you arrive at track, present your car and the tech form to the NECC Tech Inspector, who will reinspect your car on the spot. Car Classification For purposes of ranking and sorting elapsed times, NECC has established special classes for various kinds of Corvairs. All other cars are mixed into a single "non-corvair" class. Further information is available on the NECC website at the link provided above. Reminders for Drivers READ THE RULES: Be sure to read our Consolidated Rule Book for Cars and Drivers. Requirements for vehicle safety equipment differ between our track event at Putnam Park, drag racing at Muncie Dragway, and autocross at Lincoln Tech. They are shown side-by-side in the Consolidated Rule Book. Our Time Trials rules will be in effect at Putnam Park. The rules for time trials are more stringent than the rules for drag racing and autocross, so if your car meets the time trials rules, it should also pass inspection for the other two events. Here is the link to our Consolidated Rule Book: http://www.corvair.org/chapters/necc/rules/necc_rules_all_moving_events.pdf LAP AND SHOULDER BELTS: To register for Option 1 High Performance Driving at Putnam Park, your car needs a three-point lap-and-shoulder belt or better, even if you are driving a vintage car that was not so equipped when it was manufactured. This is fully explained in the Consolidated Rule Book: ROLL BARS REQUIRED FOR OPEN CARS, ETC. Any convertible or roadster Page 8 of 8

registered for Option 1 High Performance Driving at Putnam Park must be equipped with a 3-point diagonally-braced roll bar or better. Depending on how fast your car is, you may also need a 3-point diagonally-braced roll bar or better for drag racing. This is explained in the Vehicle Requirements section of the rule book. For roll bar specifications, please see: http://www.corvair.org/chapters/necc/rules/necc_roll_bar_specification.pdf DRIVER HELMET: All drivers (except Taste of the Track drivers) must wear helmets rated 2005 or higher as evidenced by a Snell Foundation sticker (either M or SA ). This requirement takes precedence over NYST's helmet rule, which only requires a DOT sticker. Exceptions for Taste of the Track Taste of the Track cars are not normally subject to tech inspection, but NECC reserves the right to inspect any car before it will be allowed to drive on the track. Failure to pass such an inspection will result in the car being disallowed from the event. Helmets are not required to participate in the Taste of the Track laps, but they are strongly suggested. Try to borrow one, if you don't own one.
