Her marriage certificate shows her Mother as Gusta Steiner. this was Wilhelm s second wife and probably sister to his first wife. When Auguste Louise was a little girl, she and her sisters were walking by a creek bank ad came upon a huge bear. They ran home and told their Father and the men killed the bear. This bear had paws as big as dinner plate!! This story was told by My Dad and Uncle Bennie. One story told to me by Alvin McBride from his mother, Alvina was that Auguste Louise Kohn Erdmann was almost put into a prisoner of war camp in the US during WWII as she had not gained her citizenship.
