We are fundraising to build a brand new community facility, free and open to all in Cheakamus Crossing, Whistler, BC. A pump track and BMX track will provide greater access to cycling and training for all ages and bike types. It will be located in a safe, family neighbourhood with: A growing young population. Complimentary activities (e.g. tennis, volleyball, basketball.) Lodging, a grocery store and café. Bathrooms on site.
The Whistler BMX Club has achieved: " A land agreement with the RMOW to house the track at the north end of Bayly Park in Cheakamus. " $18,000 funding from the RMOW. " $34,000 grant from The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation. " Detailed track design and engineering work from Alpine Bike Parks.
The benefits to the community are clear: " BMX and pump track riding provides foundation skills for all types of cycling. " The track will be open and free to use (outside of race events) for all members of the public. " The facility will be an excellent coaching and race venue for all. " The design of the track accommodates all ages, all ability levels and bike types.
For the winter sports community, there is great crossover of skills training, including: " Pressure control and cornering ability. " Cardiovascular exercise and cross training. " Body position, weight transfer and timing. " As used by BC ski and snowboard teams, including local junior Canadian team athletes.
For the mountain biking community, including XC, Enduro and DH, it will be an excellent training venue. " Asphalt pump track potentially available year round (subject to snow clearing). " Sunny, pleasant, open location with great mountain views. " Body position, weight transfer and timing. Improved speed in corners and racing. " BMX launched the careers of many top mountain bike athletes.

Estimated Project Cost: $132,000 Donations To Date: $52,000 Required: $80,000 We aim to raise this through a combination of monetary donations, sponsorship, product, fundraising events, donations in kind and crowd funding.
Businesses can help by: " Providing monetary donations in return for naming rights, recognition on website and social media and participation in public promotion. " Providing product or service donations that can be used, auctioned or sold by the club to raise money. " Providing donations in kind (e.g. trucking, asphalt, construction) to reduce the financial requirement for the project.
Individuals can help by: " Providing donations towards the build cost. Founder members and donors will have their names permanently ascribed amongst others who made it happen. " Attending fundraising events and encouraging others to do so too. " Providing donations in kind (e.g. track shaping, carpentry) to reduce the financial requirement for the project.
