Attention Due to the large request for stalls and a limited number available, NO STALLS will be reserved or positions held unless stall fees are received in full by: CLOSING DATE AUGUST 30, 2017 No open checks accepted for stalls. Stall fees are non-refundable. $15 fee per stall fee for early arrivals on th Sunday, September 17. Because of competitions running on Sunday, September 17 th, stall availability will be very limited. RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. PAYMENT: No entries will be accepted and no stalls reserved unless accompanied by payment in full for stall and entry fees. No open checks or phone calls will be accepted for stall reservations. 2. 3 2 must be supported with a veterinarian certificate giving comprehensive diagnosis. Entry fees may be refunded or credited only on receipt of such veterinary certificate. 3. ENTRIES: Entries close August 30, 2017. The word entry will not be accepted. Each entry blank must contain the name and full description of each horse or pony and the class in which it is to be entered. All horses or ponies must have either a horse ID number issued from USEF or a breed registration number in order to show. This number must be listed on the entry blank. Any entries not paid in full or received after the closing date, except stake and championship classes, will be considered Post Entries. Post Entries will be accepted at a $20.00 additional charge per horse. This rule will be strictly enforced. 4. LATE ENTRY PENALTY: In cases where entries were not made during office hours, a late entry penalty of $20.00 will be charged for each class in addition to all other fees. 5. CLASS REQUESTS: In 2017, additional class requests will be considered with the payment of $200.00 sponsorship fee and will be scheduled at the end of an appropriate session. 6. CLASS SPLITS: Classes will be split according to the following criteria: Junior Exhibitor & Limit/Novice Rider classes - 19 entries and over. Adult Amateur Classes - 20 entries and over. Driving Classes - 14 entries and over. 7. SCRATCHES: Exhibitors that fail to officially scratch any entry two hours prior to the start of a session from a class that is subsequently divided will be fined up to $100 per horse per class payable to the competition. Rule SB112. 8. PROTESTS: Please refer to Rule GR603 concerning protest. The USEF deposit fee is $200 if made by a Federation member or the parent of a junior exhibitor member or $300 if made by a non-member. 9. REGISTRATION PAPERS. A photocopy of registration papers must accompany each horse entered in the American Saddlebred, Morgan, Road Horse and Hackney Pony divisions. THERE WILL BE A $3 PER COPY PER PAGE CHARGE IF THE SHOW OFFICE HAS TO MAKE THESE COPIES. A COPY MUST BE KEPT ON FILE IN THE SHOW OFFICE SO THESE COPIES WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Numbers will not be released for an entry in these divisions without proper proof of registration. Names of horses/ponies must be on the entry form. The word entry may not be used. All horses/ponies must be entered in their full registered name and number and in the current owner of record. USEF Rule SB101. 10. No exhibitor numbers will be released until all USEF membership numbers and amateur cards, ASHA registration papers and current card, and AHHS and ARHPA membership cards are presented and approved by show secretary. 11. DAMAGES: All owners and exhibitors will be held responsible for any damage incurred by them or their agents to barns or other properties on the show grounds and will be charged accordingly. UNDER NO CONDITIONS SHALL ANYTHING BE NAILED, SCREWED, STAPLED OR OTHERWISE ADHERED TO ANY OF THE STALLS OR STABLING FACILITIES IN SUCH A MANNER THAT PERMANENTLY DAMAGES THESE AREAS. 12. STALLS: Stalls will be available from Monday, September 18th through Sunday, September 24th at $100.00 per stall. No stalls will be reserved unless accompanied by payment in full for all stalls. A total of 560 permanent stalls with doors are available and will be reserved on request. A$15.00 extra charge per stall will be charged for Sunday, September 17th arrival. PERMISSION MUST BE GRANTED FOR EARLY ARRIVAL. ONE DAY ACADEMY STALLS: These will be available after 2 PM on Friday, September 22nd in a separate location in Barn 5 at $50.00 per stall. 13. GROUNDS FEE: A grounds fee of $25.00 per day per animal will be assessed for all animals not paying a stall fee. EXHIBITORS MUST PARK IN A DESIGNATED AREA FOR DAY EXHIBITORS. 14. PRIZE LIST STATEMENT: Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rulebook will be conducted and judged in accordance there with. Any change in the current USEF rule book will be automatically a part of this Prize List." 15. CLASS ENTRIES: Three entries are necessary to fill a class unless otherwise specified, or the class may be cancelled at the option of the show committee. If the entries in two or more of the same division are not sufficient to fill, the committee reserves the right to combine the same into one competition. 16. All horses must be serviceably sound, except Equitation Divisions. In case of suspected unsoundness, the judge may, if he/she so desires, have the horse examined by the show veterinarian and their decision will be final. No exhibitor may use a Veterinarian s Statement to contradict the Judge s decision. In reference to the soundness of equitation horses, refer to Rule EQ102.1: Unsoundness does not penalize a competitor unless it is sufficiently severe to impair the required performance. In such cases, the imposition of a penalty is at the judge s discretion. 17. The Show Committee reserves the right to decline receipt of any entry and to return any entry fee and/or stable fee before or during the show, without being liable for compensation. 18. The Show Committee, Georgia International Horse Park, Rockdale County and The City of Conyers, Ga., nor any sponsor will be responsible for any accident which may occur to any owner, vendor, spectator, driver, rider, groom, attendance animal, or equipment at the Show. WARNING: Under Georgia Law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or death of a participant in equine activities pursuant to Chapter 12 of Title 4 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated. 19. NO PERSON will be allowed in the show ring during the time of judging except the exhibitor and those having official or requested duties to perform. No horse will be allowed in the Show Ring except at such hours as posted at show office. 6

20. DISCIPLINE: Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judge or officials, on the part of the owner, manager, rider, driver, or groom shall be grounds to disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his entry fee and other fees. In the case of any horse being disqualified, the winner of the next succeeding prize in that class shall take the prize that had been awarded to such disqualified horse. 21. Should any question arise that is not provided for in the foregoing rules, the same shall be referred to the Show Committee whose decision shall be final. 22. All riders, drivers, attendants, and grooms must be neatly and appropriately dressed upon entering the ring. 23. USEF - Amateur Cards: See USEF Article GR1307. Only active Federation members may obtain amateur status. Every person who has reached his/her 18th birthday and competes in classes for amateurs under Federation rules must possess current amateur status issued by the Federation. (Exception: This is not required for Opportunity classes.) Age of junior exhibitors on December 1, 2016, shall be maintained as his/her age for the show year ending November 30, 2016. SHOW PASS fee is $30.00 for non members and does not include amateur status. USEF Drug Fee $16.00 ($8.00 drugs and medication, $8.00 USEF fee) GR 206 + 208. All horses on grounds are subject to drug testing rules. 24. ALL DOGS AND PETS MUST BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON THE GIHP PROPERTY. LOOSE DOGS AND PETS will be picked up and detained until the owner has paid a$100 fine. For the second offense, the owner may be barred from showing and may be asked to leave the show grounds. This extreme action is necessary in order to protect exhibitors from injury and to protect the financial investment. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. GR 1301. 6 rules apply. 25. NEGATIVE COGGINS: A valid negative Coggins test within one year of show must accompany every horse on the grounds and be available for inspection by GA Inspectors at showgrounds. A CURRENT HEALTH CERTIFICATE is recommended for each horse crossing state lines. 26. PRIZE MONIES: Premiums will be credited to the account of the agent and credit balance will be mailed to the address of the exhibitor within 30 days following competition. Any checks not cashed by the last day of December 2017 will be forfeited to the show. No Exceptions! 27. PARKING: All motorized vehicles, including cars, trucks, vans, trailers, golf carts and RV s after unloading, must park in the designated parking area. Fire regulations prohibit all such vehicles from being parked in the stabling area. All violators will be towed at owners expense. All participants must adhere to the fire codes of Rockdale County. 28. MOTORIZED VEHICLES: Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or described motorized farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as the parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainers(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainers from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. GR1301.7. 29. ELECTRICAL AND FIRE CODES: All electrical installations and connections must meet all state and county codes. Aisles shall be maintained clear for a minimum of six (6) feet wide and eight (8) feet high. No obstructions or projections shall be allowed in these aisles, prohibiting these specifications. No Class I Flammable Liquids such as gasoline are allowed inside the building. No one shall, without consent of the GIHP, put up or operate any engine or motor inside the GIHP facility or use oils, bottled gas, camphene, kerosene or naphtha for either mechanical or other purposes. Those using the above stated items, with consent of GIHP, shall use with due care and precaution. COOKING AND GRILLING ARE NOT PERMITTED WITHIN ANY STABLING AREA. SMOKING IS PROHIBITED IN AND AROUND ALL BARNS AND ALL STABLING FACILITIES. Violators shall be prosecuted accordingly. PLEASENOTE: Barn outlets are not sufficient for GOLF CART or RV currents. Anyone found in violation of above stated rules shall be subject to dismissal from further participation in the horse show without recourse. 30. MEDICAL WASTE: Sharps containers have been placed at the end of the barn aisles in a ratio of one container per 25 stalls. These containers cannot be covered by stall decorations. GR1210.4 - Competition management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per each competition, whether or not stabling is provided. Additionally, at least one sharps container per fifty occupied stalls for the disposal of needles and other disposable sharp instruments in convenient locations in barns housing competition horses. It is competition management s responsibility to replace such containers when full and dispose of them properly. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. Competition management will place a notice of this requirement either in its prize list or on a specific handout given to trainers or check in at the competition. If local law has different requirements, local law will prevail. Competitions failing to comply with placing the required number of containers on the show grounds will be considered in violation of the rules and may be subject to penalty as determined by the CEO or Executive Director and/or the Hearing Committee. 31. CAMPERS: Camper Hookups will be available in 2017 through the Horse Show Office at $35.00 per day. Self contained Campers must pay Camper fees. 32. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PROHIBITED: The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages in the park is prohibited. NOTE: The GIHP Management strongly urges all participants to use glass containers of any sort with due care and caution. Those mishandling such containers shall be suitably prosecuted. 33. ALL CHECKS returned for insufficient funds (closed accounts, etc.) will be charged a $50.00 handling fee. No one will be allowed to show if they have a bad check or handling fee outstanding. 34. COMPETITION ARENA is 280 x 115 with an all weather mixture of sand and rock dust for footing in all arenas. FENCING: Exhibitors, sponsors and all other attendants visiting the Georgia International Horse Park are prohibited to sit or to climb on any and all fencing on Horse Park Property. Show arena will be closed 2 hours before each session except for Sat. 1 pm Academy performance. 7

35. FEED: Queenwood Products located at the Georgia International Horse Park will be the official feed and bedding store of all and any events taking place on the GIHP property. In order to assure exhibitors of an adequate supply of feed based on fair market prices, no other feed vendor other than Queenwood Products will be permitted on the grounds without the express permission of Management. 36. VETERINARIAN: A qualified veterinarian will be on site during each performance throughout the competition. 37. Questions not covered by the rules of the USEF Federation shall be decided by the management of the show. 38. GR840: Attention getting devices and/or other noisemakers (including but not limited to tape measures, blow horns, bamboo poles, explosives, fire extinguishers, baby powder, whips longer than 6, etc.) are not allowed in and around the make up and competition rings during scheduled competition sessions.
