WHY DIRTY BIRD CONCEPTS? John Shope started in the 80s as an artist and sculptor prior to entering the custom bike business. It wasn t until the big economy crash that John knew he had to make a move in the motorcycle industry. He purchased a new bike and began not only creating new parts but, cutting up the stock ones. He wasn t quite sure how the motorcycle community would respond but, he knew he was onto something and kept pushing forward. Known as, The Risk Taker, John continues to take chances in this industry striving to find the next great thing. Over the years John has won several awards including Chopped Bagger Best of Show, Buffalo Chip Supreme Sturgis Showdown (as seen on Biker Battleground) and won the title of Grand Champion Winner in the Baggers Invitational Bike Build-Off 2014, 2015 and 2016. To top it all off, in 2015 John received the greatest honor of all; he was inducted into the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame. In John s mind, creating and designing new parts goes way beyond success. It s giving fellow riders the ability to become creative in a wide range of budgets and maybe even a bragging right here and there. Aside from providing new ideas and excellent parts, John s main goal is to be a loving husband to his wife, Sara, and an excellent father to his three boys. After all, they are the true meaning behind his success.

Ironically, when it came time for the king of the small-screen; John Shope, to choose what to ride, lo and behold if he didn t make himself a 2016 Indian Dark Horse. As John explains, if he had built a bagger, it would only get in the way of serious riding, so instead he chose to upgrade the suspension, motor, and a little bit of aesthetics. John added a 26-inch blacked-out wheel for style and a MTX stereo for when the road straightens up. But in reality this blacked-out beats is built to be a cornering monster and blow off steam.
