Also named preseason All-PSAC East this year, Gallagher earned freshman of the week honors eight times last season. Flanagan, a true freshman, comes to BU from Hazleton Area High School where she was a three-time Wyoming Valley Conference MVP and third team all-state as a senior. THE GRADUATE Gr. G Jen Dervarics comes to Bloomsburg this year after four successful seasons on the soccer pitch at Bucknell University. A team captain and two-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, Dervarics earned multiple honors and awards, including being named to the Patriot League Honor Roll three times. Dervarics last played competitive basketball while at Emmaus High School, where she guided her team to a District IV title during her junior and senior seasons, led the team in steals and assists, and was named the school s Athlete of the Year as a senior. PLAYING THE POINT Flanagan recorded a game-high 9 assists in her collegiate debut Monday night while Dervarics added 4 her in first game. The Huskies totaled 22 assists on the night, which matches the most in one game in each of the last two seasons. BU had 22 assists in a 75-90 loss to Shippensburg during the 2007-08 season and matched that total in a 74-32 win over Columbia Union last year. DEFENSE The 15 steals in the season opener were the most by the Huskies since they stole 18 against Penn State-Hazleton during the 2007-08 season. Flanagan, Fr. G Kayla Oxenrider and Fr. G Lauren Ellis each posted 3 steals, while eight total Huskies had at least one. IN THE POST Fr. F Christine Sereta and Sr. F Giselle Lara combined to hold down the post against Chestnut Hill. Sereta started and went 19 minutes, grabbing 7 boards. Lara played in 11 minutes off the bench, totaling 5 points, 2 rebounds, an assist and a steal. RANKIN AT THE FOUL LINE Jr. G Steph Rankin has been very successful at the foul line during her career at BU, posting an 83.3 percentage last year and an 82.4 percentage in 2007-08. Rankin has twice gone 5-of-5 from the line in a single game, one time last year against Millersville and once two years ago against Kutztown.

OFF THE BENCH The eight Huskies who came off the bench against Chestnut Hill combined to score 24 of the team s 67 points. Ellis led all bench players with 9 points on 4-of-6 shooting in 16 minutes. She also added 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 3 steals. NEW FACES The Huskies have a roster full of 12 new players, including 11 true freshmen. Those freshmen will be counted on to make major contributions on the floor this year. Along with Flanagan, Oxenrider and Ellis will look for major playing time. Oxenrider is from Tri-Valley High School where she earned first team all-state honors as a senior by scoring over 18 points per game. Ellis played at Bangor High School, twice earning first team all-league honors. Sereta, Flanagan s high school teammate at Hazleton Area, will look to get time in the post. Sereta was first team all-league as a senior, averaging 10.0 points and 6.7 boards per game. F Danielle Derr from Upper Dublin High School will also look for time down low. She was a first team all-conference and first team allarea player as a senior, averaging 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals. F Lauren Biczelewski is also a candidate for playing time. She averaged 13.0 points and 8.5 rebounds, earning second team all-area as a senior at Bayard Rustin High School. 2009-10 Individual Highlights Games Leading BU in Scoring: Dana Wieller (1) Games Leading BU in Rebounding: Kelsey Gallagher (1) Games Leading BU in Assists: Alyssa Flanagan (1) Games Leading BU in Steals: Alyssa Flanagan (1), Kayla Oxenrider (1), Lauren Ellis (1) Games Leading BU in Blocks: Lauren Ellis (1) Games Leading BU in Minutes: Kelsey Gallagher (1) Double Figures Scoring: Dana Wieller (1), Kelsey Gallagher (1) 2009-10 Bloomsburg Roster # Name Pos.
