General Notes: The most likely candidate for William s baptism is that on September 9th 1770 (birth August 15th) at Liverpool St Nicholas, son of John. He is one of 3 sons and a daughter baptised between October 7th 1764 and Decsmber 13th 1772. There is also a marriage of a John to Tabitha Samuel at St Nicholas on April 30th 1764. However a more detailed study of the various Liverpool parish records would be needed to confirm this as William s parentage. William married Ann Mercer on 16 Oct 1791 in Liverpool, St Ann, Lancashire. Ann was born about 1773 in Liverpool, Lancashire, died in 1838 in Liverpool, Lancashire aged about 65, and was buried on 22 Aug 1838 in Liverpool, St Nicholas, Lancashire. Marriage Notes: William was a joiner at the time of his marriage. Witnesses were Henry Mercer and Thomas Wright. General Notes: As Henry Mercer witnessed her marriage Ann is possibly the Ann who was born on 18th Feb 1773 and baptised at Liverpool, St Nicholas on 11th March 1773, father Henry Mercer.
