Justin Williams Skills Development Camp was created to provide players with an opportunity to enhance their fundamental skills in a positive learning environment. Our primary focus of this camp is on-ice fundamental skills, multi-sport benefits, fitness and life skill enhancement in areas such as respect and teamwork. Date/Location: The camp will run from Monday July 24 through to Friday July 28 2017. All camp activities will be based out of the Cobourg Community Centre, Cobourg Ontario Our program is designed to focus on hockey specific skills acquisition and development as well as improved overall athletic fundamentals. This hybrid program will incorporate multiple sports to train young athletes who are interested in the sport of hockey. The program is designed to include the philosophies and principles identified in the Long Term Player Development Program with considerations for avoiding early specialization athletes in hockey, maximizing age appropriate training and improving physical skills. In total, each participant will receive approximately 15 hours of skill development on-ice sessions and 12-15 hours of off-ice athletic development sessions. This group will be separated into two groups based on birth year. Groups will be combined together as 2004-200-6and 2007-2009. Some adjustments may be required as space is limited.

Session will be an intro to dryland (athletic footwear and appropriate clothing required)

Game situational plays will be taught Off ice morning session will be hosted by Northumberland Jacks Baseball. A fun, interactive session for all the participants. Please bring a ball glove if you have one, if not, one will be available for use

Small area games Off ice morning session will be offered by the Saxons Rugby Club. All participants will be taught the basic fundamentals to the game of rugby in a touch/tag format (NO TACKLE ALLOWED) Afternoon off ice session will be soccer where a small round robin games format will be followed (soccer shoes not required but may be worn
