STORYLINES LOYOLA RAMBLERS 3-0 4 After opening the season with three wins at home in four days, Loyola ventures outside of Chicago for the first time this year when it takes on Jesuit rival Saint Joseph s Friday. Loyola is in the middle of a strech that will see it play six games in 11 days to open up the 2016-17 campaign. 4 At 3-0, the Ramblers are off to their best start since raising the curtain on the 2010-11 season with seven consecutve wins. 4 The Ramblers have not lost a home game in November under head coach Porter Moser (14-0) and have won 23 straight at Gentile Arena during that month since an 86-79 loss to Rockhurst on November 14, 2008. 4 Over its last two games, Loyola has lit up the scoreboard for 98.5 points per game and this is the first time since Jan. 14 and 18, 2001 that the Ramblers have scored 90+ points in back-to-back games. 4 The 100-point outburst against IU Northwest marks the first time the Ramblers have reached the century mark in regulation time since a 106-84 victory over Robert Morris on November 15, 1997. 4 Under Moser, Loyola is 6-6 when playing in-season tournament games. The Ramblers last in-season tournament title came in 2014-15 when they went 4-0 to win the Continental Tires Las Vegas Classic crown. GENTILE GIANTS 4Under head coach Porter Moser, Loyola is 30-5 (.857) at Gentile Arena against nonconference foes, including postseason play. Since the start of the 2014-15 campaign, Loyola is 18-3 (.857) at home versus non-league foes. 4The Ramblers have not lost a home game in November under Moser, going 14-0 in five-plus seasons. In fact, Loyola has not dropped a November game at Gentile Arena since November 14, 2008, when they lost the season opener to Rockhurst, 86-79, despite 42 points from J.R. Blount. Loyola has prevailed in its last 23 games played in November at Gentile Arena. DYNAMITE DOYLE 4Milton Doyle s 21 points against Alcorn State Friday night are the most by a Rambler in a season opener since Jeff White poured in 23 versus Milwaukee on November 8, 2013. 4The 6-foot-4 guard was a 2016-17 Preseason Second Team All-MVC selection after averaging 11.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists a year ago. 4Doyle has converted each of his last 14 attempts from the free throw line and dating back to last season has drained 21 of his last 24 attempts (.875) from the charity stripe. 4Loyola is 6-1 the last seven times Doyle has scored 20 or more points. FRESH FACES 4Only seven of the 17 players on the Ramblers roster had ever played at least one minute of NCAA Division I basketball entering the 2016-17 season. 4Loyola s 2016-17 roster features 12 new faces, including guard Clayton Custer, who sat out last season after transferring from Iowa State University. SPAIN = GAIN 4In August, the Ramblers took a 10-day trip to Spain, during which they played four games and went a perfect 4-0. The trip allowed a young team to build chemistry both on and off the court, while letting the newcomers get acclimated to practice and game situations. 4Doyle led all Ramblers with a 17.8 ppg average on the trip and the do-everything guard also pitched in 4.5 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.0 spg and 1.8 bpg. He wasn t the only Loyola player to average at least 10.0 ppg, as Richardson put up 13.0 ppg and Custer added 10.5 ppg. 4Junior college transfer Aundre Jackson may have had the most impressive individual performance of the trip when he collected 15 points and 15 rebounds in a victory over Eurocolegio Casvi. 4The last time Loyola took a foreign tour, prior to the 2012-13 season, it opened the year with a 10-3 record. DONTE S EN FUEGO 4Donte Ingram has scored in double figures in four of his last six appearances dating back to the 2015-16 campaign and against Eureka on November 14 pitched in 13 pointsand five rebounds in only 18 minutes of action. 4Dating back to last season, the Chicago native is averaging 10.5 ppg and 3.3 rpg in his last six games. 4In his last seven games versus non-mvc foes, he is shooting 59.5 percent (25-for- 42) from the field and averaging 9.6 ppg and 5.4 rpg. 4Ingram has been nearly automatic from the foul line in his last six outings dating back to last year. The 6-foot-6 swingman has drained 15 of his last 17 tosses (.882) from the charity stripe.

PORTER MOSER - head coach Overall Record: 179-192 At Loyola: 74-91 In his 13th season as a head coach and sixth at Loyola University Chicago, Porter Moser is known as a tireles recruiter, master game tactician and true teacher of the game. A graduate of Benet Academy, Moser is a native of Naperville, Ill., and came to Loyola following a stint as the associate head coach at Saint Louis University under the late Rick Majerus. Moser and the Ramblers too a giant step forward in 2014-15, winning 24 games - the third-highest single-season total in program history - and capturing the CBI championship in Loyola s first postseason appearance in 30 years. The Ramblers also saw their final RPI improve 205 spots from the 2013-14 season, the thirdbiggest improvement in Division I and their 24 wins were the most by a Chicagoland school since 2004. Named one of the top 50 assistant coaches in the nation by Basketball Times in 2009, Moser helped Saint Louis to a 69-61 overall record during his four years on staff and his recruiting efforts helped land several of the Billikens players that guided the program to back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths. No stranger to the Missouri Valley Conference, Moser was the head coach at Illinois State from 2003-07 and graduated from Creighton, which was a member of the MVC at the time. Prior to his stint at Illinois State, Moser compiled a 54-34 record in three seasons as head coach at Arkansas-Little Rock. Taking over the Trojans program at only 31 years of age, Moser turned a 4-24 team into an 18-11 squad in one season, the greatest turnaround in Sun Belt Conference history. CUSTER'S FIRST STAND 4Through the first three games of the season, Clayton Custer has not showed signs of not having played since the 2014-15 campaign. 4After sitting out last season following his transfer from Iowa State University, the 6-foot-1 guard has averaged 11.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg and 4.0 apg, while shooting 65 percent (13-for-20) from the field and 50 percent (5-for-10) from three-point range through three contests. 4Custer poured in 22 points, on 9-of-11 shooting, in only 19 minutes against IU Northwest on November 13. SURE SHOTS 4The Ramblers have prevailed 22 of the last 23 times they have shot 50 percent or better from the field, including in each of the first three games of 2016-17. 4Loyola is converting 54.6 percent (100-for-183) of its field goal attempts this season and nine of its top 10 scorers are shooting 50 percent or better from the field.
