FROM THE DESK OF MRS. LA SALLE Make me an instrument of Your peace October 31, 2017 Dear Parents: Happy Halloween! Many thanks to the parents who are hosting the Trunk or Treat today, especially our coordinators Anthony and Alexandra Loffredo. We are very excited about our new Hot Lunch Program, which will begin tomorrow. We welcome our new Lunch Director, Peggy Deer to our school family. MaCks American Grill and Frank s Restaurant will be providing lunch for our students four days a week. Fridays will still be pizza day. The lunch menu and order form are on the website. Snacks will no longer be offered to Little Friars, Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Ice cream treats and goodies will still be offered to students in grades 1-8. Many thanks to Patrick Thornton for presenting Healthy Eating for Pre-Teens and Teens. The information given was excellent and so important for our children. If you were unable to attend and would like the hand-out given, please let me know. The Tricky Tray is this Thursday at the Brownstone. Parents have been working tirelessly to make this event a success. I look forward to seeing you all there! Tomorrow is the first day for winter uniforms. Students are expected to be in full uniform-please check the Handbook for details. All Saints Liturgy is at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. The Second Grade has prepared this Mass. Please join us. PLEASE PLACE ALL YOUR ITEMS IN PLASTIC GARBAGE BAGS Clothes are NOT turned into rags. Clothes are sent to South America, Africa and Eastern Europe

Cafeteria Worker Volunteer Needed We are in need of a volunteer for the lunchroom kitchen. Help needed to set up food, wash trays, etc. Days and Times are listed below. There will be a $20 late fee after December 16 th, 2017 No late signups or refunds, after rosters are set! All children in 1 st grade thru 8 th grade are eligible. (Sorry, there is no Kindergarten or younger program in the winter.) There are no tryouts for indoor soccer. Games are played in Lakeside or Riverdale School gym on Saturdays and Sundays. The season runs from beginning of January thru late-march. Cost is $55.00 per person and includes a buffet dinner (Adults Only Please). To attend please email plrsadin@gmail.com Spring 2018 Traveling Team Tryouts (Tryouts are separate from Registration) PLRSA is looking to create additional girls travel teams for this coming Spring season. Current interest is for U10, U11 and U12 teams. All players born in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 are eligible. We will hold tryouts for these teams on Saturday Nov. 11 th and 18 th : 3:45PM 4:45PM @ Joe Grill Field, Pompton Lakes Please note that some of the existing travel teams are looking for additional players for the Spring. For more information about teams looking for players, please visit the PLRSA website or contact Steve Keating @ sakeating@optonline.net. All players trying out for a travel team must register prior to tryouts to be eligible to participate. Please, arrive 30 min. early for check-in. There will be no registration at the tryouts. SCRIP NEWS Ordering schedule is as follows: All online orders must be placed by Sunday night to be picked up the following Friday. Orders can be picked up on Friday mornings during drop off or Friday afternoons during pick up. Inventory will be sold Monday mornings, Friday mornings and Friday afternoons. TEACHER MUMMIFICATION DAY Sponsored by SMS Student Council WHEN ~ FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3 rd Each grade will have the opportunity to mummify their teacher! To participate please bring in $1 and a roll of toilet paper (individually wrapped preferred). All proceeds and left over wrapped toilet paper rolls will be donated to a local food pantry. Mummies will be judged with a winner on each floor. Come help those in need, while having some fun and wrapping your teacher in toilet paper!
