Hazards identification 2.1 Classification of the substance/preparation This preparation has been classified as hazardous in accordance with the current provisions of directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC and subsequent amendments and modifications. The preparation therefore requires a Safety Data Sheet that conforms to the provisions of regulation (CE) 1907/2006 (REACH) and subsequent amendments. Any additional information regarding health and environmental risks is reported in sections 11 and 12 of this Safety Data Sheet. First aid measures EYES: Rinse eyes immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Immediately consult a physician.

SKIN: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Consult a physician if the irritation persists. Wash contaminated clothing separately before reusing them. INHALATION: When used under normal conditions, there is no risk of inhalation. If the fumes are inhaled, take the person to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, immediately consult a physician. INGESTION: Immediately consult a physician. Do not induce vomiting (risk of suffocation from froth). Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person or that is not authorised by a physician. 5. Fire fighting measures Allow containers to cool in order to avoid product decomposition and generation of substances which may be dangerous to the health and for safety reasons. Wear full fire gear at all times. 6. Accidental release measures Absorb the spill with inert absorbent material (sand, dirt, etc.). Neutralize and remove as much of the treated mass as possible; wash away the remaining material with plenty of water. 7. Handling and storage Make sure that equipment is available for cooling the vessels, to prevent the danger of overpressurization and overheating in the event of a nearby fire. 8. Exposure controls/personal protection 8.1 Exposure limits N.D. 8.2 Exposure controls To keep exposure low, use personal protection devices that are suitable for the specific type of work, such as: mask for the nature of the product, safety glasses, gloves and coveralls. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product; wash hands well with soap and water before meals and after the work shift. 10. Stability and reactivity The product is stable under normal conditions of use and storage. In the event of thermal decomposition or fire, vapours may be released that are potentially dangerous to your health. SULPHAMIC ACID: thermal decomposition can give off ammonia and toxic nitrogen oxide and sulphur vapours. Keep in their original containers, away from bases. The finished product is stable for no less than 6 months when stored at normal conditions.

11. Toxicological information Acute effects: contact with the eyes can cause irritation; the symptoms may include: reddening, oedema, pain and tearing. The inhalation of the vapours can cause moderate irritation of the upper respiratory tract; contact with the skin can cause moderate irritation. Ingestion can cause medical problems, including abdominal pains with burning, nausea and vomiting. SULPHAMIC ACID: oral LD50 (mg/kg) 1450 (RAT) CITRIC ACID: oral LD50 (mg/kg) 3000 (RAT) 12. Ecological information Follow good working practices when using this product and do not litter. Inform the competent authorities should the product reach waterways or sewers or contaminate soil or vegetation. 13. Disposal considerations Consider the possibility of burning the product in a suitable incinerator. Acidic or basic products must always be neutralized before undergoing any treatment, including biological treatment whenever feasible. If the waste is in solid form, it can be disposed of in a landfill in accordance with the technical regulations required by the current authorities. This is also valid for empty containers after they have been properly rinsed. Never dispose of this product in drains or in surface or underground waters. 14. Transport information Transport must be done by authorised hazardous material transport vehicles in accordance with the provisions of the current edition of the A.D.R. Agreement and any applicable national provisions. Transport must be done in the original packages and, in any case, in packages that are made of materials that cannot be attacked by the contents and are not susceptible to occur with these dangerous reactions. Employees loading and unloading the hazardous merchandise must receive proper training on the risks associated with the product and on the procedures to adopt in case of an emergency.
