U14 League County Final Valley Rovers v Fr O Neill's played in CIT Saturday 3rd December. This game resulted in a loss for Valley Rovers on a score of 2-6 to Fr O Neills 3-9. After a slow start conceding an early goal and a point, Aaron Lyons got Valley's off the mark with a great goal, followed by a Chris O' Leary point. This was Valley's purple patch in the game with two points from Cathal Dart O Flynn, one from Colm Butler and a converted free from Eoin Burke also added. Approaching Half Time Fr O Neills came back with a late goal and a point to leave the side's level 1-5 to 2-2 at the break. Fr O Neill's got off to the better start in the second half with two point's from free's but Valley's regained the lead when Eoin Burke found the net from the spot after Niall Melia was brought down in the square. With 12 minuets to go the sides were level 2-5 to 2-5, but Fr O Neill's finished the stronger scoring 1-3 to a single pointed free from Eoin Burke. This was a tremendous display of skill and battling from this Valley Rovers side. Congratulations to the four Members of Valley Rovers GAA club won Contributed to Cork Vocational Schools comprehensive victory over Kerry in the Munster Final on a score of Cork 4-12 Kerry 0-4. Joe Lynch, Derek Canty, Gary Farrell and Mark Murphy were on the Panel with the former three starting. We wish them well in the All Ireland Series. A match report can be found here Valley Rovers Social is going to be held on the 13 th January in Innishannon House Hotel. On the Night there will be a medal presentation in Honor of the victorious Minor Football county winning side. We hope to have a big crowd at this social to show our appreciation of this great win.
