Lost last night s game 12-3, their eighth consecutive road loss are a season-low 11 games below.500. The Rockies were eliminated from postseason play possibilities Saturday with that loss, Colorado has had six consecutive losing seasons. Colorado is now 33-36 since the All-Star break began the second half 14-5 and won 11 of 13 from July 21 to Aug. 3. Colorado was 40-48 over the first half, 37-44 after 81 games. Since July 31, the Rockies are 5-18 on the road with one series win (Aug. 26-28 at Washington). Arenado is the fourth Rockies player to have multiple seasons of 40 or more home runs, joining Andres Galarraga (1996-97), Vinny Castilla (1996-98) and Todd Helton (2000-01). He is the third third baseman in MLB history to have multiple seasons of 40 or more home runs before prior to their age 26 season (Glaus, Mathews). According to Elias, he is the second player in the last 75 years to produce 125 or more RBI in consecutive seasons at age 25 or younger (Pujols, 2001-02). LEADING THE PACK DJ LeMahieu ranks first in the National League, and first in MLB, in batting average at.349 (192-for-550) with Daniel Murphy behind him at.347 (184-for- 530) in the NL ranking. MORE THAN JUST A BEARD Charlie Blackmon s.318 batting average (177-for- 556) ranks fourth in the NL he also ranks third in the NL with 109 runs scored, ranking just behind Nolan Arenado s 112 runs (ranks second) and ahead of LeMahieu s 103 runs (tied for fourth). Blackmon leads all NL outfielders in batting average, slugging percentage (.547), hits (176) and runs scored (108) his 28 home runs are tied for sixth. The 28 home runs are the most for a leadoff hitter in the National League since Rickie Weeks Jr. also hit 28 in 2010 with Milwaukee. His 79 RBI is a new Rockies single-season franchise record for a leadoff hitter, surpassing Eric Young s 74 RBI from the leadoff spot in 1996. TAKE FIVE Charlie Blackmon has five hitting streaks of 10 or more games this season, tied for the most such streaks in Rockies history (Larry Walker, 2002; Eric Young, 1996) his five streaks of at least 10 games are the second-most in baseball this season behind Dustin Pedroia s six streaks. Blackmon recorded his 101st career stolen base Friday, tying him with Willy Taveras for fifth on the Rockies all-time stolen base list. LEADING MAN Charlie Blackmon s nine leadoff home runs are the most by a Major League player since Alfonso Soriano hit 12 to lead off a game in 2007. It s his third consecutive year setting the singleseason franchise record for leadoff home runs he hit five in 2014, six in 15 and has the nine this year. His career franchise record 21 since 2013 lead all Major League players that span. FRESHMEN A total of 12 players have made their Major League debut for the Rockies this season, tied for the most in franchise history (also: 2014) Tyler Anderson, Matt Carasiti, Stephen Cardullo, David Dahl, Carlos Estevez, Jeff Hoffman, German Marquez, Jordan Patterson, Tony Wolters, Trevor Story, Raimel Tapia and Pat Valaika have all debuted this season. Nine Rockies players have collected their first career MLB hit this season, tying the franchise record, done previously five times (1995, 2005, 2011, 2012, 2014). DIG THE LONG BALL The 2016 season marks the first in which two Rockies players have had five or more multi-homer games in a single season both Nolan Arenado and Charlie Blackmon have five, tying for third in the Majors this year and tying for eighth all-time in franchise history for a single season. BIG FISH According to STATS, DJ LeMahieu is one of five Rockies to hit 10 or more home runs in a season while playing second base joins Clint Barmes (22, 2009), Jose Ortiz (13, 2001), Mike Lansing (12, 1998, 11, 2000) and Todd Walker (12, 2001). WOLF OF BLAKE STREET Jon Gray recorded 10 strikeouts Friday in his first start since striking out a franchise record 16 batters on Sept. 17 the 26 strikeouts are the most in a two-game span in Rockies history. Gray now has six games of double digit strikeouts this season, the second-most in a single season in Rockies history (Pedro Astacio, 7 in 2000). Acquired: From Los Angeles-AL, Nov. 30, 2011 WHEN THE LIGHTS The 26-year-old Redlands, Calif., native will be making his 27th start of the season, his 13th away from Coors Field. Reinstated from the 15-day disabled list Sept. 2 (mid-back strain, Aug. 16) second stint on the DL for a mid-back strain this season (also: June 19-July 5). Missed the entire 2015 season and a majority of the 2014 campaign recovering from his second Tommy John surgery prior to this season, last started on April 29, 2014 underwent his first Tommy John while in high school, and did not pitch in his sophomore year while recovering. GOLDEN GATE Is 4-3 with a 3.32 ERA (57.0 IP, 21 ER) in 11 games, 10 starts, vs. the San Francisco Giants, all while pitching for Colorado. Is 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA (18.0 IP, 6 ER) in three starts this year vs. San Francisco.
