AAC in Poland Poland has a long tradition and achievments in production and development of AAC. From the begining Poland was the leader of AAC production in Central and East Europe. Polish reasarchers and engineers elaboratated technologies and construction equipment for the factories. Kostrzewski 5 th International Conference Bydgoszcz 2011 Prof. Bororski, J.Cox and M.Sobor letter to the members of the Scentific and Technical Commettee Dear Professor On behalf of EAACA (European Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Association), the Polish Concrete Producers Association and The University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz, Poland we have the honour to invite you to take part in Scientific - Technical Committee of The 5 th International Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Conference, which will take place on 15 16 September 2011 in Bydgoszcz. Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) is one of the most common building materials in Poland, Europe and also in many countries around the world and is made either in the format of masonry units or reinforced elements for walls, floors and roofs. The material has very valuable properties, such as: excellent thermal insulation, which allows a considerable reduction of energy for heating and air conditioning of buildings, very high fire resistance, good acoustic properties, and a provides human friendly microclimate, as a result of using natural raw materials for production, such as sand, water or limestone. AAC is a very light material with a mass typically between 300 to 700 kg/m3, and simultaneously resistant enough to be qualified as an insulating and structural material. Often the walls made of the autoclaved aerated concrete do not require additional insulation, which significantly reduces building costs. AAC is almost 100 % recyclable, and its production has relatively low energy requirements. The first sitting of the Scientific - Technical Committee and Organization of Conference by the part of the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz, EAACA's Strategy Committee and Polish Concrete Producers Association will take place on 23 September 2009 in Bydgoszcz. We anticipate that all participants will arrive on 22 September in Warsaw in the morning from where at 1.00 pm we will travel by couch to B ydgoszcz. Next day on 23 September all participants will be returned to The ryderyk Chopin Airport in Warsaw at 6 pm. The Polish Concrete Pro ducers Association will cover all costs concerning travel to W arsaw and staying in Poland. Would you kindly confirm if you are able to attend.
