The Waxrobotics finished 27th of 60 teams at Dallas regionals Waxahachie High School TSA Celebrates Success at Regionals Students from the Career & Technical Student Organization, Technology Student Association, represented WISD at the Regional Contest. TSA serves students enrolled in CTE courses aligned with these six career clusters: Arts, Audio-Video Technology and Communication; Architecture and Construction; Business, Management and Administration; Information Technology; Manufacturing; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Participants enjoy the experience of applying classroom and laboratory lessons in hands-on activities or competitive events.

Indian Golf takes 1st at Burleson Centennial Tournament Clayton Knight won 3rd overall The Waxahachie JV Golf team shot a 410 to win 1st place in the Waxahachie JV Golf tournament on Tuesday. Leading the way for the Lady Indians were Veronica Hernandez with 98 and Allison Heflin with a 99. Other scores were Andi Wallace 106, Mackenzie Parks, 107, Meredith Fay 110, Mia Munoz with a 112. Freshman Braelyn won 1st place as a medalist with a great round of 89. The Lady Indians will be at Southern Oaks on March 19.
The Lady Indian golf team finished in 8th place out of 14 teams at the Granbury Lady Pirate Tournament last weekend. Senior Kate Hendrix led the way with 93 both days for a 186. Other scores for Waxahachie were Baylie Paris with a 189, Marisabel with a 194, Ana Herrin with a 195, Kayli had a 197, and Olivia Tolliver shot 209. Waxahachie shot 373 on day 1 and 286 on day 2. The Lady Indians will be in action March 23-24 for the District Preview at Tangle Ridge.

Waxahachie ISD is now accepting referrals for gifted and talented testing. Gifted and talented services are designed to serve the unique educational needs of academically gifted students. These students perform or have the potential to perform at a remarkably high level, beyond the performance of their peers. Approximately 3-5% of the population is identified as gifted. Many students are high achievers, but are not by definition 'gifted.' If you feel your student may be in need of gifted and talented services, we encourage you to refer him/her for testing. In cooperation with the Waxahachie Rotary Club, the Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD is selling spirit flags with poles to Waxahachie residents and businesses. The goal of the program is to foster community support for Waxahachie ISD students' activities and accomplishments. Those who purchase flags will receive an email telling them about every community spirit day that they should put their flag out for - everything from football games to UIL academic competitions to band or theater competitions. Funds raised by flag sales allow the Foundation to expand our mission of providing grants for innovative classroom projects, dual credit scholarships for high school students, and college scholarships for WISD graduates. How does the program work? You buy the flag and pole from the Education Foundation for $125. The Foundation delivers your flag and pole. On specified days (or anytime you want to show your
Hachie spirit), place the flag in the sleeve at your curb. (Don't have a Rotary Club flag sleeve already? We will place and maintain one for you at no extra cost!) You remove and store your own flag when it's not in use. We will have a calendar available here with dates to fly your spirit flag! The spirit flag program is conducted in conjunction with the Waxahachie Rotary Club's flag program. On Rotary Flag holidays - Memorial Day through Flag Day, Fourth of July, September 11 through Labor Day, and Veterans Day - please do not fly your Indian flag. When the American flag is flying in your sleeve, please don't remove it - our nation's flag takes precedence over your spirit flag.
