Jupiter Holiday Wood Bat Tournament Supplemental Rules Any rules contained herein which conflict with the MLB rules shall take precedence over the MLB rules. TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE! We are an ON TIME tournament and appreciate your help, support and adherence to these rules. Start times are projected start times. Each team should be at the ballpark at least one hour prior to the scheduled time. Games can start earlier than scheduled if a preceding game finishes early. Bat Type: Seeding: Solid wood bat. No metal or composite bats are allowed on the field. "Composite" includes wood composite bats such as bamboo bats and the Mizuno wood composite bat. Win/Loss Pct Head to Head Runs Against Runs Scored Coin Flip if tied Pitching Limitation Rule: 9U-13U: 9U-12U: 9 innings (27 outs) for the duration of the tournament. Each out recorded by the pitcher counts as 1/3 of an inning (if a pitcher does not record an out before leaving the game as pitcher, 0 innings will be recorded) A pitcher may pitch up to 3 innings and pitch the next day A pitcher may not pitch more than 6 innings in any one day 13U: 3 innings can pitch the next day 3 1/3 rd to 7 innings one day minimum rest 14U 18U: No Pitching Requirement A player that pitches three (3) consecutive days (regardless of total quantity of innings pitched must rest the next day.) For purposes of pitching limitations rules, a pitcher is in violation of the rule if he records any out above the legal limitations pursuant to these rules.

Exception: Penalty: Exceeding the maximum innings allowed in the case of a double or triple play shall not be counted against the pitcher. It shall be the responsibility of each team manager to challenge pitching violations by notifying the Umpire-In-Chief and then filing a protest with the league/tournament director. A protest may be filed at any point after the pitcher in violation records an OUT beyond his legal limit AND while the pitcher in violation is in the game and in the pitching position. If such violation is the last recorded out of the game, the protest MUST be filed prior to the umpires and the protesting team leaving the field of play. Any violation of the pitching limitation rule shall result in an immediate forfeiture of the game. If such violation occurs during pool play, the team in violation of the rule may not advance to the championship bracket regardless of record. Pitcher Re-Entering Game as Pitcher Rule: A pitcher may not re-enter the game as a pitcher once they have been replaced as pitcher. Pitcher Removed from the Pitching Position Rule: A player removed from the pitching position (starting pitcher or subsequent relief pitcher) may not return to the pitching position for the remainder of the game. The defensive team may correct this rules infraction before the first pitch to any batter by substituting a legal pitcher without penalty. If a pitch is thrown to a batter and the pitcher is in violation of a pitching limitation rule, the violating team immediately forfeits the game. Scorebook: Each team will keep a scorebook for every game. Any discrepancy in the score or the pitch count should be resolved on-field immediately. Game Times & Limits: 8U: 1:30 Time limit 9U-12U: No new inning may start after an hour and forty-five minutes (1:45) 13U-18U: No new inning may start after an hour and fifty minutes (1:50) There is no drop dead time. Once an inning is started, it must be played out pursuant to the rules. Championship games will not have a time limit, but all mercy rules shall be in effect. Weather/Incomplete Game: If a game is called due to rain, weather, light failure or other acts of God and cannot be resumed, it is a regulation game if: 6 inning game: if three (3) innings have been completed or if 2 and one-half innings have been completed and the home team has scored more runs than the visiting team.

7 inning game: if four (4) innings have been completed or if 3 and one-half innings have been completed and the home team has scored more runs than the visiting team. For pool play and bracket games: If a game is suspended, it will resume from the point of suspension and will not be played as a new game. Championship game will be played to a regulation completed game (6 innings or 7 innings) subject to mercy rules. Mercy rules will be in effect. Incomplete Tournament: There will be no refund on an incomplete tournament, and final standings will be determined with the same method used to determine seeding. The only games through the last FULL round of games will count. A bye in an elimination round will count as a win with no runs for or against. If the tournament is cancelled and all pool play games have not yet been played, only the first pool play game will count for each team. If all teams did not play at least one pool play game, no standings will be recorded for the tournament. If game is stopped for nearly any reason (protest, weather, act of god, field safety issue, lights, etc), the clock is also stopped until game resumes. If game cannot be restarted in a timely manner, it will either be suspended to be resumed from that point forward later (including remaining time) OR will be determined to be a complete game if enough innings have been played. Tied Games: In a tied game we will use the International Tiebreaker Rule per the following guide lines. International Tie breaker will begin with the last batted out of the previous inning starting as the runner on second base with zero (0) Outs: Pool Play games: Bracket Play Games: Championship Games: Game will remain a tie. Forfeit: If you are not ready to play baseball within 10 minutes of your scheduled time, it will be a forfeit and the winning team will be awarded 1 run per scheduled regulation inning game so that the final score will reflect 6-0 for a six inning game and 7-0 for a 7 inning game. (This rule can be overruled by the tournament director, depending on the situation and an agreement between both teams, due to rain delay, act of God)

Rosters: Double Rostered Player: A player can be double rostered in a different age groups (not major/minor within same age group). Pitching rules of the tournament will follow that player throughout the tournament. (Ex: If they pitch 4 on one team they have 4 innings left to pitch.) They are not restricted to just pool play games. Decision will need to be made by the manager, what team they are playing on, if a

game should cross over times. Games schedules will not be adjusted to accommodate double rostered players. A double rostered player will qualify in either age group for bracket play as long as they played one pool play game in either age or just one age. They can play bracket games in both ages. A double rostered player must be highlighted on both rosters by the manager prior to tournament check-in or per the below exception. An eligible player must be on the signed JTAA roster release form. Single rostered player: A player must play in a minimum of one pool play game to play in bracket play and championship game, in addition to being on the signed JTAA roster release form prior to the start of the first game or per the below exception. If a signed JTAA roster release form is not available prior to check-in of the first game it must be turned in ½ hour prior to their second seeding game or the team will be disqualified. A player cannot play down they can only play up- same for double rostered player.. Protests: Procedure for team questioning another team s roster will be to submit $100.00 protest fee during the game while the player in question is participating. If the player is ineligible the $100 fee will be returned, the team will forfeit the game and the player will be ineligible for the weekend. If this matter is brought to our attention, prior to the start of play or in a non-protest manner it will be the tournament directors responsibility and duty to notify the offending coach and team will not be penalized for the weekend. It will be the Tournaments Directors discretion if the player is deemed ineligible for the weekend. Procedure for protesting an umpire s call is to submit $100.00 protest fee. Game play will be stopped until the UIC and/or the Tournament Director review the call and agree on the outcome. Their decision is final. If the call is overruled or deemed incorrect, the protesting team will receive their $100.00 protest fee and play will resume. If the call is deemed correct based on the rules and their interpretation, the protest fee will not be returned and game will resume play from point of protest. Player Age Eligibility: Any player must be listed on his or her team s JTAA Roster/Release form, which must be signed by that player s parent or legal guardian. Each player s age is determined by their age on April 30, 2016. No player can play in an age group younger than their age as of April 30, 2016. To challenge a player s eligibility during any game, the opposing manager must formally Protest the player s eligibility. If a player is determined to be ineligible (not listed on tournament roster, release not signed, or improper age), the ineligible player is not eligible for the remainder of the tournament and the offending team forfeits the in-process game. No prior-played games

are impacted due to the ineligible player. If a player is determined to be ineligible prior to or after a game by the tournament director, that player will not be eligible for the remainder of the tournament. If that player then plays during any game and is either protested during the game, or brought to the attention of the tournament director after the game (except the final game), the offending team shall forfeit any games in which the ineligible player played after which the player had been determined ineligible. A player s eligibility cannot be challenged after the last game of the tournament for each age division. To calculate a players age, go to http://www.usssa.com/sports/agecalculator.asp?sportid=11 Approved Team Lineups: Lineup cards need to be complete 10 min before game. Teams may bat a nine (9) player lineup, a ten (10) player lineup using an Extra Hitter (EH), or a continuous lineup of all present, eligible, uniformed players. Such a lineup must be declared before the start of the game, and used for the entire game. Free defensive substitution will be permitted for all age groups. If a team uses a continuous lineup, all players other than the nine (9) defensive position players are Extra Hitters, and may move freely in defensive positions with the exception of the pitching position. Any player(s) arriving after the game has begun but prior to the 3 rd inning shall be added to the bottom of the batting lineup. When using the continuous lineup and a player has to leave the game for any reason or the game is suspended for weather or act of God, and that player will not return to the resumed game, that position in the lineup becomes an out when that at bat comes to the plate. (this rule can be overruled by the tournament director or UIC, depending on the situation and an agreement between both teams, due to rain delay or act of God. This needs to be determined at the time the game is called for either of those reasons, and noted on the scorecard, and should be signed by both managers and plate umpire. If a game is postponed due to an act of God, whether it is a few hours or next day and a player is not available to be at the finish of the game, a non-returning player will NOT be an out. In most cases, we will defer to a squeezed line-up as long as there are 9 players. If they are using a continuous lineup and batting everyone, the team will not be penalized with an out. Teams may play an official game with an eight (8) player lineup. If a team plays with an eight (8) player lineup, an out shall be declared for the ninth (9th) position in the batting lineup each turn at bat. A ninth (9th) player and all subsequent players may be added to the bottom of the batting lineup as soon as they become available. If using a continuous lineup, any player that arrives after the beginning of the 3 rd inning is ineligible to play that game. A team may continue a game with a minimum of (8) eligible players.
