COURSE INFORMATION This 6,815-yard, par-71 Las Vegas National GC has hosted several PGA and LPGA tournaments. Tiger Woods shot 70 here while claiming his first PGA Tour win at the Las Vegas Invitational, and LPGA hall-of-famer Mickey Wright won two of her LPGA Championships here. The layout is unique to the desert for its small forest of mature palm, pine, olive and other exotic trees. They offer both beauty and shade along the plush fairways and around the tee boxes and well-bunkered greens, all of which are kept meticulously groomed. Besides all those trees, the real hallmark of Las Vegas National is its unique variety. Five long and tough par 3 s balance nicely with four medium-length par 5 s. Three par 4 s measure 366 yards or less, while the six others play from 406 to 442 yards. The shortest par 3, the 182-yard 11th, is rated as the course s easiest hole, but it s anything but easy. The long but shallow green sits perilously close to OB left, while it s fronted on the right by a deep bunker. Strong and fair par 5 s open and close the round. The 560-yard first hole is the course s longest. The tee shot on the dogleg right plays to a wide fairway between a bunker right and trees left. The layup second shot is contested by water and bunkers right, while the narrow green is flanked by bunkers. The No. 1 handicap hole is the longest par 4: the 442-yard sixth. The fairway on the dogleg left is bunkerless but treelined, and there s also OB left and a wash along the right side. Two bunkers front the small, severely sloped green and another sits in back. The shortest par 4 is the 345-yard 17th. The drive must carry a deep wash to reach a two-tiered fairway. Bunkers left also challenge the tee shot, while the shallow green is fronted and backed by deep bunkers. No. 18, the signature hole, is a perfect risk-reward closer. The dogleg-right par 5 plays 550 yards from the elevated back tees. Water right and palm trees guard the corner. A big drive can render the deep but narrow green reachable, though it s well guarded by bunkers front, left and right. Dress code requires shirts with collars and sleeves, no denim, non-metal spikes are mandatory. To reserve Golf Clubs or Shoes in advance please contact Las Vegas National Golf Club at (800) 468-7918.
