The class may be split into Senior and Youngstock if sufficient entries are forward on the day of the show. Please state clearly on the entry form which show the pony qualified at. RIDDEN CLASSES JUDGING STARTS 10.30am RING 2 Note - Ponies must be four years old and over in all the ridden sections Class 14. Nursery Novice 4 years and over ponies never to have been shown in any ridden class prior to 22nd August 2015 Class 15. Novice 4 years and over, under 14hh ponies must never have been placed 1st to 3rd in any Open Ridden class prior to 1 st January 2015 Class 16. Novice 4 years and over, 14hh but not exceeding 14.2hh ponies must never have been placed 1st to 3rd in any Open Ridden class prior to 1 st January 2015 Ponies in classes 14 to 16 must be shown in a snaffle bridle. The judge will not ride Classes 14 to 16, although novice ponies may be ridden when competing in the Supreme Show Championship. Novice Ridden Championship (1st & 2nd Prize winners) Classes 14 to 16 Class 17. Open Ridden 4 years old and over, under 14hh Class 18. Open Ridden 4 years old and over, 14hh but not exceeding 14.2hh Open Ridden Championship (1st & 2nd Prize winners) Classes 17 & 18 Supreme Show Championship for the HPS Bronze Medal (In-Hand Champion, Reserve In-Hand Champion, Open Ridden Champion and Novice Ridden Champion are eligible to compete.) Veteran jockey, rider to be over 50 years young! Class 21: The CSHPC Ridden Champion of Champions Final (to follow Supreme Championship) Entry is free to any registered Highland Pony that has been awarded Champion or Reserve Champion in a Ridden Highland Pony or M&M (Novice, Intermediate or Open) section of an HPS affiliated show during 2015. The class will be run as a normal show class but each competitor must show the following movements in their individual show: 1. 3 loop serpentine in trot or canter 2. Canter extension across the diagonal 3. Rein Back 4. Walk to canter transition Please state clearly on the entry form which show the pony qualified at.
JUNIOR SECTION JUDGING STARTS 9.00 AM RING 2 Class 22. Junior tack and turnout Class 23. Young Rider 18 yo and under. To be judged on rider's presentation, riding ability and showing technique. Class 24. Young Handler 18yo and under. To be judged on handler's presentation, ability and showing technique. UNAFFILIATED SECTION JUDGING STARTS 9.00 AM RING 3 Open to ALL Club Members, (Including those with partbreds, overheight, unregistered, ponies) Class 25: Tack and Turnout Ponies presented Ridden or In hand. To be judged on the presentation of the pony and its handler/rider. Class 26: CSHPC Club Rider For Adult Riders new, or returning to the show ring. (Not competing in the Open, Novice or Nursery Novice Ridden Section.) Canter, optional, in individual show only. Class 27: CSHPC Club Pony Challenge to be judged on pony s suitability to be an all-rounder/fun pony. There will be a short TREC style obstacle course which ponies will complete one at a time. Points will be awarded for completion of each obstacle (they can be missed out!) then all competitors will come back into the ring and each perform a short individual show. Conformation will not be judged. There will be no championship for this section. DRESSAGE JUDGING 9.30 AM 2.30 PM (break for lunch 12 noon for 30 mins) (Please declare times with the Dressage Steward) Note - Ponies can only enter a maximum of two dressage tests, providing they are eligible class. Classes will be judged under BD rules. Class 28. BD Intro B Test For ponies just starting out in dressage. Class 29. BD Prelim 13 Test (for ponies not to have gained above 70% in any
class at prelim level. Ponies competing at Novice level or above are ineligible to enter this class) Class 30. BD Novice 34 Test Class 31. BD Elementary 42 Test Test sheets available from www.britishdressage.co.uk. WORKING HUNTER starts 2.00 PM RING 3 Ponies may enter up to two Working Hunter classes provided they are eligible. Competitors may enter a further class as a clear round at a reduced entry fee of 2.50. Rosettes for all clear rounds! Class 32. Nursery Novice Working Hunter jumps max 2 0 (ponies never to have been placed 1st 3rd in any Intermediate or Open Working Hunter class prior to 1 st January 2015) Class 33. Novice Working Hunter jumps max 2 3 (ponies never to have been placed 1st 3rd in any Open Working Hunter class prior to 1 st January 2015) Class 34. Intermediate Working Hunter jumps 2 6-2'9 Working Hunter Championship (1st & 2nd Prize winners Classes 33-35 ) COMBINED TRAINING Class 35. Combined Training scores to be taken from Dressage Preliminary Test and Working Hunter classes please indicate on entry form which Working Hunter class you wish to nominate (excluding Clear Round classes)
RULES 1 Only Highland Ponies or their progeny on the HPS Full Register or the A, B, or C Appendices can be entered for any competition. Height of ponies must not exceed 14.2hh. (148cms) 2 No animal suffering from an infectious disease will be allowed to compete, and such animal must be removed if a steward so directs. 3 Stock must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor. 4 No substitution of entries. 5 Neither the Show Committee nor landowner will be liable for any damage or loss to person, animals or property which exhibitors or public may sustain at the show. 6 Protests, along with 25, (which may be forfeited if the protest is dismissed), must be lodged with the Secretary in writing within 1 hour of the judging of that particular class. Verbal protests will not be considered. 7 Competitors entering more than one class accept the risk that timings may conflict. Classes will not be delayed for competitors in other rings. 8 The Show Committee have the right to combine or split classes if numbers so dictate. 9 The decision of the Show Committee shall be final on all matters regarding the show. 10 The decision of any judge shall be final regarding the judging of their class. 11 No Highland Pony bred by, or ever owned by, the Judge may enter. 12 The WHP classes will be judged in accordance with the National Pony Society Rules. 13 Behaviour by any Exhibitor deemed unsporting or unreasonable by the Committee may cause all rosettes/prizes/trophies to be forfeited. 14 The Show Committee reserve the right to refuse entries without an explanation. 15 All Colts and Stallions over 2 years old must be shown bitted. All over 4 years old must have an HPS Stallion Licence. 16 Young Handlers must wear correctly secured British Standard Skull
Caps or Riding Hats. 17 All mounted competitors must wear correctly secured British Standard Riding Hats at all times whilst mounted.
