Including WSDDC Qualifier classes. Venue: Codden Hill Equestrian Centre, Overton Farm, Bishops Taunton, Barnstaple EX32 0DX Classes: Class 1 (a, b): BD Introductory B (2009) Class 2 Pairs Walk/Trot (test sheet see back of schedule) Class 3 (a, b): Prelim level BRC HT 80Q&C (2013) (test sheet see back of schedule) Class 4 (a, b): BD Preliminary 12 (2005) WSDDC Qualifier Class 5 (a, b): BD Novice 28 (2008) WSDDC Qualifier Rosettes to 6th place, both sections of each class Cost: 6 per entry (non-idrc members 10 per entry if there are places available if they are not available at close of entries we will refund your entry). Section a is restricted for horse+rider combinations who have NOT been placed 1st or second at a higher dressage level; section b is open. However, if we receive fewer than 3 entries in each section, the class places will not be split. (Highest 3 scores across both sections combined will count as top 3 for WSDD)
How to Enter: Fill in the entry form with your name, horse s name, and the classes you want to enter (1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b, 4, 5a, 5b), email it to Cheryl, and BACS your money in. Contact Cheryl or a committee member if you don t do either of these. Closing date 19th March. (This is so we can we can plan test times, liaise with judge, etc). Payment secures place until we receive payment, someone else could grab your place. BD dressage test sheets can be obtained from British Dressage (Google them). Sorry you will have to get your own as we are not allowed to photocopy them (yes we think that s tight, too). BRC tests are free and attached! Entries will be limited first come first served! If very over subscribed, we will arrange a second date, giving priority to those who didn t get a place. Juniors below 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult; juniors between 12 and 14 years must be accompanied by person over 16. Test Times: Will be published on Club Facebook page, evening of 21st Mar. Or contact Cheryl if you do not have Facebook access. No start will be before 9:00am. Tack: English or continental saddle (so no Westerns!). Bridle: Snaffle bit or variant; pelham with roundings or variant. A noseband is compulsory. This is wider than normal for dressage to allow you to use what you normally ride in. But, the following are NOT allowed: martingales; double bridle; pelham with 2 reins; gag; grakle noseband. (Though if you wish to qualify for WSDD, you must use BRC dressage-legal tack!) Dress: Jacket; white, cream or beige jodhpurs; gloves; regulation hat; boots. Whips may be carried. Spurs may be used if short, blunt, single point pointing down. Long hair to be secured so as not to hang lower than shoulder line when standing. Jewellery to be removed or covered by clothing if it cannot be removed. Callers: If you want the test called, you can. Just bring your own caller. If you need to leave before results are available, send or bring an SAE for score sheet (and hopefully your rosette!) West Somerset and Devon Dressage Championship Qualifiers 2018 The first three eligible competitors in classes 3 Prelim and 5 Novice (and highest placed junior in Classes 3 & 5, and ROR in Classes 3 & 5 if outside top 3 placings) will qualify for the West Somerset and Devon Dressage Championships to be held at KSEC on Sunday 28th October 2018. To be eligible, horses/ponies in the Prelim class must have no BD points (BD Prelim points do not count) and those in the Novice class no more than 124 BD points at close of entries to the WSDD Championships. Riders must also be a member of one of the following Area 12 Riding Clubs: Witheridge, West Somerset, Exeter, Quantock, Sid & Otter Valley, North Devon, Blackdown Hills or Ifracombe & District. In addition, combinations are ineligible to compete at the same level or below if they have been WSDD Champion or Reserve Champion or placed 1st 6th individually at any BRC National Dressage Championship in any year prior to qualification. There will also be an Elementary class at the championships open to horses with less than 199 BD points at close of entries to the WSDD Championships, who not have competed at Medium level or above and satisfy the criteria in the paragraph above.
Ex racehorses MUST have a RoR number. Registration can be completed at www.ror.org.uk. Unraced horses and foreign raced horses can be registered for this as well as those raced in GB. The winners of the Prelim and Novice Championships will receive a training grant with the trainer of their choice. Non qualified combinations from participating clubs may also enter non championship classes at Intro, Prelim, Novice & Elementary on 28th October 2018 at Kings Sedgemoor EC - ENTRIES MAY BE BALLOTED, DEPENDENDING ON NUMBERS.
