In limited action last season behind All-American catcher Cal Raleigh, who was drafted in the third round of the MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners, Foster hit.2 with two home runs. None of Foster s hits were bigger than his pinchhit, two-run walk-off home run against Louisville on March 0. Foster s home run was FSU s first walk-off HR when TRAILING a game since Mike McGee s two-run HR gave FSU a 7-6 win over Miami in 200 (had five walk-off home runs in tie games in that span). Both of Foster s home runs in 208 came as a pinch hitter - his first was in his first career AB as a Seminole, a three-run HR against Troy (2/2). Foster hit his first home run of 209 against Virginia Tech (/8). STADIUM IMPROVEMENTS Over the past two seasons, Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium has seen two important renovations. Prior to the 208 season, a new video board was unveiled. At the time, it was the second largest in college baseball. Prior to the 209 season, the weight room under the grandstands was renovated with state-ofthe-art equipment and over,800 square feet of workout space. PLATE DISCIPLINE & EFFICIENCY For the seventh time in the past nine seasons, Florida State again led the country in walks drawn by a sizeable margin in 208. The Seminoles have drawn 8 walks in 6. innings played in 209. FSU drew walks in game two against Maine, its most in a game since also drawing against Villanova in 206. Team Walks, 208:.
