And I hadn t appreciated how much it did really mean to people, how much it touched particularly women, until after my flight. The first few months after my flight I was really struck by the way that women of all ages from college students to [ ] eighty-year-olds reacted to me. It was just something they never though they would see. It made quite the impression on me. Sally Ride, first American Women in space. o Your actions are being seen by more than the college students on this campus. High ranking administrators, high-school students, parents, siblings, etc. are seeing what we are doing and it impacts them. It impacts how they view and advocate for our organizations. Let s make sure we are leaving a good impression. Wednesday February 13 th at 7:30 in Alkek is the Multicultural Greek Council Showcase. o This is an amazing event where the MGC organizations share information about their founding, values, and more. Some put on skits or will do traditional strolling. o It is a great opportunity to learn more about the FSL community! FVS Retreat for Emerging Leaders o o March 9-10 FVS will be hosting a retreat for Emerging Leaders in the community. This overnight retreat will help build community among emerging leaders across councils, set a visionary course for our community, and help embolden our future leaders to elevate our community. This retreat is designed for members who have joined your organization since Fall 2017 and have displayed interest and potential to be a chapter and community leader. Presidents were sent registration packets and details. There are enough spaces for each chapter to send 2 members and potentially enough space to send up to 4 members.

o Packets are due February 22 nd in the FSL office (LBJSC 4-14.1) and must be turned in by chapter Presidents. o If you have any questions email TLH190@txstate.edu Encourage your members to apply to be a recruitment counselor and even for recruitment-elect. These are two amazing leadership positions in the community and are great experience that will apply to everyone s jobs after graduation. o These are also a great way for members who are not holding leadership positions directly in your organization to get experience. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Enterprise event! UNFINISHED BUSINESS Will be voted on at February 25 th meeting. Opening for the Recruitment Elect position-must be a member that has gone through recruitment as a recruiter. Applications will come out tomorrow, January 29, and due February 20 th. The candidates will read a speech and voting for the position in the meeting on February 11.
