Home and School Fundraiser Term 3 Tomorrow your child will bring home a carton of Whittaker's chocolates to sell as part of the Home and School fundraiser for Term 3. This is our major fundraiser of the year and your continued support is much appreciated. The chocolates are $2.00 a bar or $72.00 a carton. Students have 4 weeks to sell the chocolates. Once their first box is sold, they can ask for additional boxes to sell. There will be prizes for the top three sellers as well as weekly prize draws for students who sell a complete box. Money from this fundraiser is going towards resurfacing the Adventure Playground with a durable plastic matting which helps reduce injuries and concussion. We are looking for people to count money from the chocolate sales in the mornings for the next four weeks. We need you from 8am to 9.30am. Please email Jocelyn Pollock jocelynp@his.school.nz if you are able to assist even on the odd day. REQUEST FOR BAKING FOR TOURNAMENT OF MINDS BAKE SALE On Saturday, 10 September Hutt Intermediate is hosting the Wellington regional Tournament of Minds competition. We run a bake sale at this event as a fundraiser for the Hutt Intermediate Home and School Association. There are over 500 students plus accompanying adults at this event so lots of baking is needed. If you are able to help with baking for this event, please complete the form below and return it to the school office. We would like baking delivered either on Friday, 9 September or on the morning of Saturday, 10 September. Could you please indicate on your baking if it contains nuts or is gluten/dairy free? Many thanks for your support. Jocelyn Pollock HUTT INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL TOURNAMENT OF MINDS BAKE SALE I will supply baking for the bake sale on Saturday, 10 September. Name... Contact number...

Dear Parents/Caregivers, At the beginning of the term the Student Council purchased new picnic tables for Hutt Intermediate students to enjoy. However we have no varnish to protect the tables from the harsh Wellington weather. If you have any unused vanish or weather protecting oil lying around that you no longer need, we would LOVE to have it along with any unused paint brushes. If you are able to help please contact Miss Laiman on chrissyl@his.school.nz Thank you for all your support. Kind regards Brierley and Jessie - Student Councillors

VISUAL ART This year Visual Art involves building recycled sculptures out of old car parts or pulled apart electrical appliances. Tuff Auto Centre, Midas and Vic Garage have been kind enough to donate a few boxes of old bits and pieces but more would be much appreciated. These are some of the sculptures created by year 7 students so far: If you feel like doing a spring clean in your garage or shed and come across any of the following, please send them to school: - springs - nuts/bolts - small light bulbs - spark plugs - any rubber or plastic parts - any small vehicle parts - any small appliances like dvd players or old printers/typewritters Anything that you think could be used to create a recycled sculpture would great, and don't worry about them being dirty! Thank you very much. Alice Andrews
